no, just stutters, in anomaly guy suggested to turn of volumetri smoke, I will try
Limiting it to 60 or 70 FPS removes said issue

That's related to Alife, so only the stutters when you're moving between zones in a map and you get those "hangs" where the game freezes for a second or two
yeah I got those sometimes but it doesnt bother me much, if I enable it will it drastically change alife or something gameplay-vise?
the stutters you are experiencing are nothing to do with graphics but instead might be related to the loading of the ai in the map

How it affects Alife is a bit subjective, hard to explain. Shouldn't change much

That particular addon has the default GAMMA settings. They were changed in order to improve performance, but it depends a lot on your machine
Some machines get less stutters, others get more stutters
on Steam forum I heard that guy enabled V sync in Nvidia control panel and that helped with stutters, I will try everybody's suggestions

Limit your FPS to 60 in the in-game settings and they should disappear
Granted I run with Vsync off and a Gsync monitor, but it works for me

Could be lack of GPU resources or could be X-Ray magic. Though campfire stutters were quite an issue for some people before.
it could be caused by the CVFX but apparently that cant be disabled anymore, it causes a crash when loading/starting a save i think

Gunsmithing tools are only for making ammo. You can sell any extras at Technicians for a tidy sum

I have an i5 extreme (16 thread, 8 core @ 4ghz) and a stock 1080 and it runs maxed out at 60 fps. It DOES drop in areas with a lot of dynamic lighting, so aside from maxed out, i've dropped the shadows and volumetric lighting a bit to achieve that. You'll be fine with a 3060ti on basically any settings as long as your CPU isnt a stinker
And - re: above, do we have any idea what "turn this if you stutter" actually does? Because the one issue I do have is intermittent stuttering.
Also if you're ever suffering with graphics, anomaly can be set to run very very minimally. Shy of integrated GPUs, I think most decent setups can run anomaly/gamma one way or another, even if its not going to look fab. 😉

having the game on a HDD usually only affects loading times
the game is CPU and somewhat RAM intensive, thats why you can run it on any GPU basically
I've got 32gb of 3300mhz so, hopefully not that bottlenecking me.
Also - if I wanted to move gamma to my SSD, would it be as simple as cut/paste the entire gamma folder, or would that break MO2 somehow? I will try either way, worst case scenario I just undo.

if you want to move the gammaRC3 folder you will need to delete the mods folder
windows will give you a "path too long" error otherwise
if you move the anomaly folder, you just need to set the new path in mo2

If there is already a free loot spawn for armor parts for a spot, can i still suggest it for other things or is it redundant?
just so you know, this spot has ammo/armor parts/food sometimes#free_loot_coords message
but i dont think its an issue as long as you add something to the list of items

afacr in all nilla stalker games, red dots are visible on the map for highlighted enemies. I have bad eyes so it helps me.

It's a very old engine with some modifications, so it's not optimized to make full use of all our modern computing capacity (it's also single-threaded)

doors having weird reflections is a known issue of SSS, no fix as far as i know

For weapons they have their own rating, you just give them to them and they do everything
If you want them to use just the weapon you want, you have to enable a mod that allows you to see into their inventories, so you can remove whatever gun they're using
For armor there is a mod but it is broken at the moment and doesn't work (as far as I know)

ppl are you all right? GAMMA runs on Anomaly engine, which is ported modified X-Ray that fully supports 64bit systems and multi-core CPUs, none of which you've said in your statement is true
All stalker Anomaly branches can utilize as much RAM, VRAM and CPU cores as you please
It supports, yes. Doesn't necessarily means it'll make use of what it supports. It may or may not make use of 8 GBs of RAM
Start GAMMA/Anomaly and you'll see it uses a single core to 100%, for example

more likely, the core architecture of the engine itself is just not so well optimized and does utilize hardware as well, but hey, even next-gen games are poorly optimized so I don't really mind, what Anomaly team did is wonders

this is why OCing one single core and using that core to run stalker is a really good thing to do if you can cool it 🙂 I did that with original engine when I OCed my old 4690K from 3.9 GHz to 4.5 and the performance increased massively

basically yeah, you need to build the whole architecture with the the parallelism in mind
u dont need to know, you can manually set which core will be used (core affinity setting), but I don't recommend to use only 1 core, the game still uses more cores just not for everything

How do i edit files in GAMMA NPC Loadouts. i want to make attachments less common.
Some anomaly fields are stronger than others, and some have a "heat zone" similar to how some toxic anomalies have a "toxic zone" that damages you over time

Honestly not sure what's the ACE's fire protection, but some fields might require you to add extra protection via artifacts

I think it's too low quality to be sold. I've yet to see someone who wants it. Including Sid and Sakharov. How can it be used for crafting? I have a spare container so I could stash it

I'm having trouble since a few days ago, game stutters frequently for 1-2 seconds. Between these it runs smooth, adjust my settings according to Falco's guide in #╭📖faq, did all the stuff in #old-framerate-optimisation and tried ticking the mod in fixes that says tick if you stutter, but no luck. Anybody got ideas? Thanks in advance.

Dude Im in the same boat, sometimes setting the game to realtime and disabling cpu 0 in affinity helps
I've been trying to figure out the stutter for ages...even completely disabling reshades and tanking setting to the lowest they go and I still get the microstutters

The game comes compressed so its much smaller than the actual size. 35g is about the size after you unpack

21:9 is ultrawide, right? It works, but your FoV might be weird
field of view is fine, I remember I barely played anomaly ( I mean few hundred hours is barely xDD) because had texture misplacement issues etc

They're not made with 21:9 in mind, so you'll probably notice a few things here and there out of place
so had to work for hours and hours to fix it all xD

remember sitting and editing all UI pixel by pixel to make it work for 21:9 xD

Random spawns can give you surprises here and there. Buckshot to the face can make relatively quick work of them

Anybody have a little time to tell me how to make the outfit editor work? I've been trying to find it in gamma support, but I can't find anything. unpacked using the unpack_db and put the outfits folder into the proper place, but its still not updating my gear in game
I def remember in anomaly (and some mods based on it) I had weapon condition bar (that green one) misplaced by few pixels, some icons of weapons were out of place, text like for example name of npc and $$ u got also were out of place etc etc

If it's over the weight limit, you can't move anything else INTO it, but you can move stuff from it. Check if you have the "Infinite stash weight limit" addon enabled

Artifacts don't degrade, only Perk Artifacts
The efficiency of normal artifacts is just their condition. Think of it as armor condition. Once you empower them to 99%, they'll stay there
Only Perk Artifacts lose Efficiency per second, assuming you didn't disable that
Everything else stays where they are, be it artifacts, metal plates, etc

gamma has YACS (yet another campfire save) by default, you can easily disable it in the mcm or disable the addon in mo2
the armor equip animation is disabled by default while food and drug ones are enabled

I know that, you just need to have in your bag either a multitool (works with anything) and a swiss knife or a grooming kit (armour only). However with this tomahawk clicking dissassembly you get the promp that you need a multitool. That is why I was asking

you can try moving the folder without deleting anything, but usually windows gives a "path too long" because of a specific addon's files in the mods folder
depending on what addons you have, they might still work with the up to date gamma

I think I'll just wipe this drive with my fresh windows install and just download everything from scratch again. Basically just like building a new PC. Just buy a sharpening stone kit and some steel wool to repair it, then disassemble the world
the multitool has condition which is used when disassembling any item with it and its easy to repair with a sharpening stone kit but its better to only disassemble the guns that have good parts in them
Although I personally only disassemble guns when most of the parts are above %60
you will also need the tool to disassemble armors and junk items for crafting and repairing, its good to always have one multitool and some sharpening stone sets

No, it's just RNG. Went to Red Forest, came back with 5 Advanced Toolkits.
And you can craft one using 4 Basic Toolkits too

I disassemble even if it's other parts. It's just too much work to strip in your own inventory. Wish there's a function where you can strip in the looting window as well. That'd be a huge QoL improvement.
if you want to disable the reshade, just open the reshade menu in game by pressing the home button on your keyboard and unticking all options

they are the ecologists traders, one in yantar and the other is in jupiter
that is problem of tree models rather than graphic settings, you could try FXAA from reshade (FXAA tends to blur out all edges, it would work, but FXAA looks ugly), other option is to try in-game SMAA on high or ultra and turn of base Anti-aliasing since it sucks anyway

it doesn't matter if they are below 50%, if you have just one part that IS above 50%, you can combine it with any other that is lower than 50% to repair the first one even more, there are files and sewing kits to merge more of the same parts to get better ones
you can also disassemble outfits and helmets you find on dead NPCs or stashes and get parts from them, it's actually not that hard to find the right parts and repair them
Don't throw away outfit parts that are below 50%, you can still make use of them, but you need some of 50%+ as well
i thought parts had to be above 60%

but weapon parts below 60%+ you can just throw away always, but keep outfit parts that are 5% and above

DO NOT ENABLE ANIMATIONS THAT ARE DISABLED BY DEFAULT, IN MCM IN GAME OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE MOD LIST, they're disabled for the same reasons written above. If you use them, forget about #old-bugs or #🔨base-gamma-support, don't use these two channels. Use #🔨modded-gamma-support instead.

in general I prefer the Aggressor ground textures, but I've been noticing an effect where light being cast on the ground makes it look all black and weird: you can see it here, that triangle of weird dark ground is the light being cast by an NPC headlamp. Similar effect is caused by my own headlamp. any idea what's happening here?

Find and keep 60% and up parts for guns and 50% and up for armor parts
Drop the rest below that treshold, you can keep them if you plan to use specific items for specific tresholds

Can you run gamma without mo2? trying to run it on a apple m1, parallels doesn't work with the virtual file system api:s that mo2 uses. Do i just take the gamedata folders from gamma rc3/mods/* and shove it into anomaly?
Not exactly, as you need to have a way to set the load priority of the mods, otherwise you'll get conflicts and other issues

Any idea on how to swap armour from one faction to another? currently loner and picked up a 21% condition berill 5M but cant seem to trade it in with any of the options that i choose from sid
Loners don't have a faction Berill 5M, so MIGHT not be able to trade that armor in

i assumed it would take the armour then spit out one thats similar stat-wise or something
That's a fair assumption, but I think the coding of how it works is "Receive X, Give Y", so might need to be coded on a armor-by-armor basis

Condition, yes, it should be possible if you have the money, since they can do that
But they can only "clean" your gun, meaning the condition

It depends on what you did
If you use the kit to replace parts you don't have, it will take "uses"
If you use the kit to replace parts you do have, it won't

You have a toolkit and a repair kit
You can install upgrades for free
You won't "use" your "uses"
