Barotraumatic's main appeal is TONS of new creatures that function well within the existing roster
I'd say Europawar but europawar's got one big issue

Honestly I got a botload of mods that overall make the game both harder, more customizable but also slightly easier at the same time
A huge deciding factor for your campaign in baro is which submarine you end up taking.
Standard submarines are flawed as fuck and will generally make easy missions that should take maybe an hour or so double if not triple that time
Modded submarines can be fucking busted and still not save your ass from certain creatures or events
