I think the spookiest experience I had when I had my longest first playthrough of anomaly was getting to the frontline between freedom and monolith, and they were actively fighting on the frontlines at the path leading into radar

Had to dodge both freedom and kill a few monolith just to pass through the area

And then the area past it had next to no one in it, just the excessive radiation and psy field coming from radar

In Stalker a gun is often... a gun outside of specific upgrades it will function the same as almost any other gun. The issue is when I have to swap out a gun for another gun that is almost the exact same because that gun has a bigger funny game number on it. Its even worse in RPGs like the outer worlds where it takes me out of the game world.

GAMMA kind of fixes this by making weapons a scavenge-only system, but anomaly’s base weapon repair mechanics are just lackluster and unfun imo

The actual weapon repair kits are not rare or expensive to craft at all. Once the systems are understood, and the progression is fully grasped it actually becomes very easy to prioritize your path. Only expert tools are honestly an ass to get.
