Cordon > Garbage. In garbage, up the road to Rostok, there's the flame heli onnthe left, then a bit after on the right there's a lot of chemical Anomalies in a small swamp with dead trees
effectively halves my fps to just look in the general direction of the swamp
goes from abt 70 to about 35

Because it HAD to change I guess. 90% of the time, just change the Depth Reversed option. It's either a 0 or a 1. Also disable MSAA.

I like it personally. It's just my kind of over the top.
The downside is it comes prepackaged with HD models, which for me isn't a big deal as I prefer the HD Models but that might be a no for some people.
I haven't tried activating DICK in MO to see if it overrides it.

GAMMA + Expedition + Dead Zone
This is my reshade preset with minimal ray tracing and qmxao. I also use expedition, which is why I've also included the shader cache and user.ltx. If you want to use expedition you need to install aggressor again as a duplicate with only weather files and put it last on the load order to fix some weathers.
I'm too lazy to share screenshots but maybe I'll do it later. I'm really happy with the way it looks. Thought some people might enjoy as well. Backup your files, just in case.
Load order is like this. I've played like 5 days in game without any issues.
I also have a rx 570 4gb, for referrence.

I prefer the zone to be more clear. With darker graphics you can easily miss some ennemies etc
Yup. If it's too dark, you can just disable Ray tracing and qmxao. I like the depth they add to the picture.
Expedition is working fine without the reshade though.

Reshade is not critical to getting expedition working. Just reinstall aggressor as a new mod with a different name with only weathers and make it load after expedition.

yeah I added the aggressor weather at the end of the modlist and i still get the lightning bug
i should mention it happens without adding expedition or the other reshade pack so thats why i'm not sure whats going on lol
all i've done is manually add a few effects to the 'real' bin folder and the reshade textures i've added but not overwritten any

I find myself bumping middlegray a lot when it's sunny outside

My room is fairly murky, my eyes are very light sensitive.
I find using absolute black for shadows to be stylish.

yeah ive been using levels plus in my reshade with really slight dark -> black settings and i love the colors i get from it
dark areas are proper dark, you need a flashlight to loot indoors at dusk etc
and outdoors daytime all the shadows really pop

Hey I wanted to replicate your settings and I found everything but colorfullness. Was that something you added from outside?
yeah i think its in legacy
if you just go through the vanilla reshade installer and select the vanilla anomally that gamma is attached to
you can install new effects
you'll also want to use these settings
for basic light settings
gamma - 0.9
saturation - 1.0
brightness - 0.8
on the thirdscreen of the reshade installer hit update

I think you forgot to use UI masking.
You need UIMask_Top.fx and UIMask_Bottom.fx to envelop the effects you are activating. Otherwise the reshader will affect your GUI too.

Perhaps I have a file causing conflicts
you gotta turn off the gamma default bloom
this is actually normal
its because levels plus will take anything thats darker than 3/3/3 RGB and make it pure black
you can adjust that or turn it off
i actually dont mask them in my profile because i dont really mind it, and the mask area is quite a bit larger than the actual UI element
did you adjust the ambient indoor light value, and change the basic light settings?

what value are you using?
was using gamma - 0.9
saturation - 1.0
brightness - 0.8
thats the basic lighting
you need to change the ambient indoor light value
i'm using r2_sun_lumscale_amb 0.8
but adjust to taste
between 0.0 and 3.0

you shouldn't have the default bloom enabled if you used my file tho
you can download the .ini file i posted
and put that in the folder and activate it
as long as you have all the effects
You can resize the UImask as written in #old-how-to last step to avoid the UI glow
