It was basically about joining the server after december teaser got on moddb, then talk to Susel, the creator, he had a need for a few testers, so I signed up, Cold was already there, so we both got to test it out, then Susel had enough testers so no more needed

The RC1 test version was given to us on the 20th, had flaws but thanks to a lot of feedback it's now being fixed day after day, there won't be an official release yet though

Nah your save files don't get touched when you're updating gamma

Speaking of the user.ltx, can you explain why it takes so long to load it after using atmos.ltx or atmosr.ltx? I like to cfg_load them back and forth to check out differences but my game STRUGGLES when I swap back to user.ltx and takes like 3-5 minutes of black screen to load it back in.

they're just near-max graphical settings on DX11 with a specific ReShade preset, also don't forget that what you see in a small preview picture on Discord is way prettier than what you see in-game

some effects can also be exaggerated for the screenshot, like HDR or Bloom

I'm using the latest GAMMA with maybe 10 mods on top of it. All maxed out. Most of it is atmospherics and SSS. Especially SSS as it has lots of extra graphics options that you can access in the shader files. I don't use reshades.

I would reccomend Grok's mask overlay. You can see it adds a little black on the top and bottom of the screen. It makes everything look framed and makes you feel like you are behind a mask. I leave gamma alone and boost brightness until it looks photo real, then I adjust the dark elements of the screen. I usually do it with a widget on my LG TV but to make these look correct on a standard color range I had to use the command console to adjust things as close as I can using the game engine.

Yep, I'm always adding more and more stuff everytime I do a new install and it keeps taking longer and longer.

I have a frame cap of 64FPS. FPS fluctuates between 60 and 64 keeping things consistent and causing less lag spikes. Some areas run at 100FPS and some maps like Jupitor just barely handle 60 so I just top all of the effects on that I can until the most demanding map hits 60FPS and then I set the cap.

Ok I'm almost done. It's almost out of my system.

I did all of the shots in a single session and didn't change any settings at all. That is the power of Atmospherics and SSS.

This is the correct answer. For my screenshot, while I don't use any additional filter over it, they're very situational. Most of my gameplay still look "normal" with some very pretty moments.

Some screenshots are extremely pretty - but the game won't look as pretty all the time.

I would argue that my game looks better than these shots since they lose quality when turned into Jpeg. I'm posting them at full 4k resolution just like I play it. I agree though that I take shots that stand out to me. The game is amazing looking and fun to just walk around and look at but these shots are stand out stills from a couple hours of playing.

Most game development teams don't allow the tools for the engine to be released to the public so reshade will continue to have it's uses but stalker is open to real change and talented people can do more with the dev tools then they could ever do with a reshade. Seeing the tree's move in the wind and watching as all of the mutants and character models are replaced is great. SSS pretty much took Anomaly beyond RDR2 in the graphics department which is amazing. It still blows my mind that someone just made a 64 bit version of the game engine on their free time without being paid.

Thats all I've got. Now back to tweaking.

Its the weather that makes it "good" usually i crouch or lay down when i take shots and reduce FOV from 20-50, depends on situation. Fps is usually fine, till i get to Dark Valley

Well that sucks not going above 30, but i guess you are on a pretty old pc specs, there is option in mod manager called "Turn this on if you stutter" maybe it can help you, maybe not. But generally its old and not so optimized engine, stutters happen here and there.

Yes, but also depends on Reshade settings and gpu. When i was on RX580 i noticed reshade drops from 5-10 fps which is alot if you already struggle for performance, compared to now when doesn't affect me at all on better gpu.
