Did you edit or update the PDA textures at all? I know depending on the application the final export method can really jank up textures or looks. If you did not then one solution that I have used is to brightening up the textures or at least touching them up like this. the exception being when I pull it out in dark area's.   • @wary palm it has to do with your reshade order, disable one by one and take screens and see if it fixes, once you find the effect that is causing the problem try moving it around in the order and take screens until you find which effect it is conflicting with then decide if it's visually fine to alter their order to be able to take screens or disable on of them

The picture-in-picture effect is part of the shader scopes (already in default gamma), but you need to tune the scope_factor. Closer to zero = the scope zoom effect is bigger. Closer to 1 = closer to default stalker.
I use scope_factor 0.5 . That mod has an incredibly good pip effect.

Now, for the scope texture itself, which is crucial for the look, I run 2D Scope overhaul by MrDemonized and below it, Meowie's PEW 2D Scopes (for better textures, as default gamma has the full screen scopes.).

update ~ The mod description says it's not entirely compatible with Gamma. I haven't had any issues yet, but you might want to skip it for now. Or, look into the thread from this server, for the gamma compatible version.

put it last at the bottom of your MO2 Gamma modlist.

You don't need that mod, to take advantage of the pip feature in gamma.
As for the pip settings, I use these. Apply them one by one, using the in-game console.

maybe try a higher scope_factor like 0.9 , and if it doesn't work, welp.. you can go back to the modlist setup you had before installing this one., and for the error , delete the shader_cache folder inside anomaly/appdata

these vehicle meshes are part of the world meshes, you have to modify and export the entire map to modify the vehicle meshes. Reworking the maps is hell because there's a ton of information generated on files that are linked to map data or sections, iirc
As for modifying their textures ~ they use atlassing, so multiple parts share the same texture. Shading , texture and seam work become a mess. It can be done, texture wise, but you're fighting against some of the atlas mapping

imo, modern ai upscaling and denoising is probably the better way to get some life into those vehicle textures, without having to deal with the mapping

New Atmos and SSS update will make custom reshades SO much better. Because it looks like the perfect base, perfect colors for trying any kind of weird Regrades and stuff. Im probably gonna run it just like that clean with only-TFAA for a long whiiiile... Can't wait Hippo.

Yes and no. Outdoors yes it is possible. Indoors specifically areas controlled by lumscale amb it’s hard because in order to make indoors darker you’d have to change the amb values which also change the values for outdoor areas

The problem with vegetation is that they are texture with alpha mask, but the engine approximates the color bits to black or white (there's a threshold you can set, bu it just means the engine sees more or less grey area as black or white)
So the grass and foliage is ALWAYS hard cut without alpha blending
