I love the ending of season 1. I wish they showed his hair turning white happening slower, because that's based off a thing called Mary Antoinette syndrome. It's not real, but historically it refers to Mary Antoinette being so distressed that her hair turned white. Kaneki's hair going white is such a cool way to show torture and how it psychologically affects you, along with his finger and toenails being black from the torture as well and turning that into an aesthetic choice.
