Well, that's a complex issue I'd imagine, since GSC would need the OK from each gun's branding to use their proper names I think.
On top of probably paying each gun company for the usage of their gun names.

Stalkers outside of a map aren't rendered tho, they are kept in offline alife
Ah, just so there is no confusion, monolith engine is the old refactored XRAY engine from the original games
New engine is UE so there might be complications with adding a larger online radius
From what I heard the biggest problem with the bubble was memory peaks BC of the garbage collector

That would be my guess yeah, I only demo'd stalker 2 on release and havent played the patch versions yet so would be good to benchmark it when I buy the game and experiment with A-life if the radius can be experimented with. Performance was half decent except for slight choppiness, Im on a 4090 mobile now with a half decent Intel core.

If you run into startup problems, yes. But ideally texture mods should not clash with different versions, unless the patch fucked around with naming convention

From what I hear of the SDK testers, the SDK is powerful but very buggy rn, you can directly mess with world entities but they also haven't found out everything that can be done with the editor, barely scratched 1% in their one month of testing

Crazy how I went from not playing since launch to this update and the game still spawns enemies and encounter squads right ontop of me plus POIs still respawn the same enemy after leaving for 2 minutes. The gate that you pass from garbage to Rostok is the best example. Spawns bloodsucker there, I kill it, come back after a quick stop at Rostok and another Bloodsucker turns up in the same spot...
reminds me of Far Cry 2 with the enemy outposts always refreshing

It's roughly on par with old school a life, you could say a life 1.0 or some shit.
only big difference is that they pop in a lot closer, but seems they keep trying to get to the Rostok bar and stay there drunk until the end of days just like in the old games
combat is a bit better, mutants look less tanky? I tried the tutorial and the game feels much smoother now. Combat is the same as 1.4.
Anyway, congrats, yall finally got the NPCs migrating from point A to point B with permanence, and pretending to gather artifacts like in CoP.
I'm still waiting my side content, but I suppose they had to reach a stable base first.

Pushing the render radius to 150 meters would do a lot to kill pop-in. 200 meters even more so. There are a lot more places in this game where you can see uninterrupted for hundreds and hundreds of meters, sometimes even kilometers
But 150-200 meters at ground level with uninterrupted sight lines are a lot less common than 100 meters

I've mostly stuck with the Ultimate Engine Tweaks Engine.ini for S2.
i stay away from all of the engine.ini's. most of them are filled with variables that don't even do anything
I think what I like most is some of them use a few lines that somehow make the mouse latency not totally awful when framegen is on, lol.

the game would benefit from more lairs where only one type of mutants/npc spawns. Random spawn of different types of enemies in the bubble not good for immersiveness. for example, bloodsuckers should only spawn in caves/near buildings, or spawn more often at night

Only manual changes I've currently got are the latest dll files for DLSS and AMD's version as well as reshade. Although, I may just keep reshade disabled if it eats too many frames. Trying to play with frame gen kept off.

This has happened to me before, but in the sense of when Nightingale was still nearby; if you wait for him to leave the cowsheds area, then loot their stash and kill 'em, you should be fine.

Idk about burers, I've started a new run (this time I'll run ward I swear), at least in lesser zone fights are a bit more fun? I actually managed to "outsmart" the "outsmarting" like in og games by expecting the flank and just popping some silly bandit heads the moment they exposed themself from their flank. I also seem to take a bit more damage, but I guess that's from 1.4, I haven'ì played since 1.3
Mutants seem a lot less tanky, the Bloodsucker in the tutorial dies in a single AK burst, before it was a soulslike bossfight in terms of healthbar
Since enemies are persistent now and not spawned, I wish we had some binoculars. Now that I know dude don't just disappear, I suddenly feel the need to scout the area instead of gamba whether area will be populated or not
Game stutters a lot less and feels smoother, except when getting into crowded areas, but that's becaues my cpu is from like 2017 so it's struggling a bit

They changed something about the weapon stats in one of the previous updates and that’s why the author of MHM stopped working on it. Honestly stopped playing before 1.3 so idk how much it really changed. He said they were now fake variables and no longer calculated by the game.

I'll be honest, I appreciate that I am not the main focus of all the actors that spawn in game and that if there is a firefight that is happening without me, it keeps happening and AI doesn't instant focus me if I just leave
Now, if having the npc routines and persistence everyone wanted didn't break some of the secondary quests triggers (reload fixes them) that would have been great, but I imagine there were conflicts between dynamic NPCs and fixed events, and this delayed the whole ass a life thing.

Luckily, I have a completed save and another that most likely will never need to get into the Shevchenko ever again. I just hope it doesn't brick my Ward run 
Anyway there is something fucky about NPCs, no doubt because of the a life implementation. I've seen Lux Legend just stuck in an animation loop, fixed by saving and reloading, and some NPCs just stuck in place (fixed as said above). If that's the NPCs getting stuck reloading should help, otherwise it's something else, most likely.

this is an issue that has been consistent since yesterday and nothing i tried works. i guess the shevchenko is just softlocked, i dont remember if it has main story relevance
there is the Sultan/Beard questline, but I don't remember if it's main story related. Lemme load that save and check if the shevchenko works for me. Could also be another epidemic of invisible weapons, which ended up being caused by incomplete mod removal.

It's empty for me, maybe that happens once Beard moves back into the Skadovsk. Door opens tho, it closed behind me when I entered so I panicked a bit 
i am trying to inquire about clear sky in the shevhenko and see if the main quest marker did something
so yeah technically its main story relevant
You can also go into the Sultansk for that, just changes where Richer spawns
But yeah I'm not trying to say that a bug that potentially blocks storage, merchants and quest progression is not game breaking, just that I can't replicate it.

1.5 is a solid step in the right direction that makes stalker 2 really feel like the og games.

gamma is my first real return to the zone since i played the original stalker back when it came out (didn’t even finish it back then). i really respect the stalker 2 devs, but i want an experience at least as good as gamma — or at least not disappointing.

Expecting gamma from stalker 2 is a bad take.
Gamma is a culmination of 15 years of modding by thousands of modders, all who have different views and expectations of the zone.
Stalker 2 is basically better trilogy at this point.

We're at the "definitely buy it if it's on sale" point of the New Vegas/Cyberpunk pipeline.
ngl the mosin adds an interesting variable that was completely lacking in the previous iterations, i.e. early, cheap sniper. I also am enjoying not being forced to use Skif's pistol forever as possibly even the UDP is better now, gotta test it better - and enemy AI fights a bit better, less braindead. Still very static, but it's closer to the OG games.
If they add a third tier 3 AR (idk, CZ-Bren?) and an SKS I think weapon wise we're also good, idk if someone wants more lmgs in the game or some more snipers, I'm definitely good.

Enjoy in gamma first, after you spend a few hundreds of hours there, stalker 2 could be near level of old games and revisiting all maps in new engine will be nice, nostalgic.
Why don't people compare modded Skyrim with+500 mods with Starfield?
While I know it's for nostalgia purposes, I don't know if I would be ok with it because 1 - it's an old design. It was popular in games because it looked futuristic and cool, just like the P90, but the P90 has been replaced by the Vector in Stalker 2, and the FN2000 by the Kharod and 2 - There is probably some murky legal reason and yada yada.

remove the kharod, it is an awful gun, replace it with the SGI and add the Ft200m as a 5.56 bullpup gun
Eh, SGI looks too ordinary to be a suitable Stalker end game gun. It has to look a little bit exotic, at least.
Why they picked the IWI instaed of a SCAR or BREN it's anyone's guess. I'd rather not go there.

the FN2000 has a more distinct look, and if you want a 5.56 option just use the HK33 or smth

i've sank probably 100-200hrs in gamma, maybe more in anomaly. game mechanic is incredibly polished. awesome sandbox, i wish gamma brought the warzone mode tho

Stalker was never a sandbox game, but you would be a fool to deny that Stalker 2 has the foundations to be one, considering the sheer size of the world alone and diversity of locations.

There's one big difference between modding the original trilogy and this one: the source code.
People managed to dig deep into X-Ray's guts to make the mods we have today.
Epic will never release UE5's source code, so I don't think Stalker 2 will ever have similar modding potential
the SDK and the modding kit might enable wonderful things but it won't compare to having the source code and being able to alter the innermost core workings and mechanics
