Idk what you want exactly for player agency though. We already have 4 rather different options, and you have like 4 ways to swap sides or change your mind part of the way through on several factions at several points. What exactly are you looking for? It was never advertised as an intricate RPG with character building. And if it was, I don't think all 4 of the endings would feel important at all.

Playing games like super in-depth RPG's where you can 'choose whatever your motivation is' also kills any type of larger story building. I appreciate the story they have for what it is, at least.

Bloodsuckers are spongey even with the bullet/mutant overhauls I have. Though much easier now. Instead of 6 full mag dumps it only takes like 2. Once in a while though I'll come accross boars or fleshes that just will not die. At all. I think they get bugged.

I've found automatic weapons work better. Shotgun doesn't seem to have the upfront damage it should. And I think it's due to penetration values, if I had to guess. Since the ammo overhaul nerfs the pen of buckshot mutants can then tank more shotgun than rifle.

Just had an idea, at the end of the X5 bunker the player climbs out of the hatch to a different scenario depending on who they sided with. For ward there is only monolith but for spark there is about six guys waiting for the player to come out of the hatch but monolith show up and fight with them. I think those six guys are supposed to have dialogue with the player and that doesn't happen because they are killed by monolith before the player can get out of the hatch. I've done the quest just pre controller twice now and both times those guys get killed. One of them has a card for malachite base but it is marked as quest item until I take it then it just stacks with the other cards in my inventory of the same kind. I wonder if that is why shcsherba doesn't teleport to dvupalov and maybe that is how the quest is bugged for me? Anyone finish this quest without it bugging? in search of past glory mission?

I have both monolith and these spark guys after me at the same time and they just kill each other so by the time I get out of the hatch most of the monolith are dead and I find six dead spark guys on the ground including curly and his PDA with a message from scar about not curly should not fight the player.

I don't know wether or not to trust mapgenie info about strelok's secret place it says that I can go to strelok's place during the mission in search of past glory but what the hell for? the player would exit from the research institute and then proceed to dvupalov there is no quest marker for anything else wth is mapgenie thinking?

Somehow other people have completed this mission in search of past glory but a lot of people can't complete it now so there must have been a change between patch 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 that fucked up this quest. I know the devs patched a collar issue for a related quest but still there must be a marker missing if mapgenie has that info.

I can't remember where I read it but there is a list of console commands for in search of past glory so you can finish a quest stage for turn in blueprints, turn in documents to sherba and then finish the quest and start the next one. Gotta spawn in the blueprint to your inventory and also a veles since you won't get one by finishing the quest with console commands:-( I found this info but lost it by closing a tab in my browser. Dam if I could just find it again the dam quest would be done. The turned in documents to shera is important in starting the in the name of science side quest later so it has to be done there next to dvupalov or the timed start won't work later.

my biggest disappointment in stalker 2 is silly. I dislike the lack of sharpnel for grenades. Wish grenades worked sorta realisticly with small blast zones but shrapnel got shot out at speed so you arent safe unless behind cover.

After having played Tarkov for over 6000 Hours the weapon balancing in Stalker feels bad at best. Thankfully there is rebalancing mods for people like me that like consistent stats for calibers

I actually just took that off. All the guns felt so same-y due to the caliber rebalance. Every 5.45 is the same old banana-mag split sundae in just different variations of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. Plus shotguns got way nerfed with it. Pen was brought down to 1 for buckshot and most mutants seem to have more "armor" than that so it did next to nothing. No reason to use a shotgun when a mag dump of 5.45 is better.

Tarkov has its own problems, every game does. But you have to hand it to them the combat and the guns "realism" is one of a kind

Tarkov adds realism in places I don't like and ignores it in places I think it would be good, like so many guns are just impossible to shoot without being fully modded with experience parts, that has always extremely frustrated me

that is not really true. And i'm not gonna say your subjective experience is not valid to you, but i will say i know better. Every gun in Tarkov is valid even in its basic configuration. Will you be able to storm a stronghold with 5 fully kitted PMC in it with just a TOZ and a AI-2 Medkit at hand? Probably not. But should you expect to?

My point is shooting a stock m4 shouldn't make your screen fly to the ceiling with recoil forcing you to tap it, an m4 doesn't kick like that, especially when operated by a "trained" PMC like your character is supposed to be, and this goes for every gun besides a few that have manageable recoil stock like some of the smgs

It also is a constant conflict between people like you @mint holly and people like @warped monolith. One side is crying for less restricting recoil, while the other is crying about supposed laser accuracy weapons.

Well I played through like 3 reworks aswell, they like to "rework" things often especially the recoil
