imo ive always thought bots were easier and cooler to fight than bugs, even when the creek was a thing.
bugs are fine, but once chargers joins the fight, you need to almost target it at all times.
for these missions, autocannon sentry is just godsent and i use it on almost every mission, except for terminate missions.

but do remember that if youre too close to a bug, the cannon will delete you. but the charger/bile titan/horde of bugs will also be deleted.

why i think bugs are more difficult:

• bugs have multiple, even elite enemies that can call reinforcements. bots only have sword dudes. once they're out, it's very piece of cake to handle them.
• doesn't take that much damage from weak spots. unlike robots who have very clear and easy to hit weak spots, the bugs just buggin. the charger has its back, but you still need to mag dump its butt before his butt explodes and he slowly bleeds out. unlike the hulk which can literally be killed by 1 mag from redeemer (last time i checked). can also be one-tapped by railgun/rockets if hit directly in its face.
• it is much more important to target some troops before others. you cannot begin killing the smaller bugs. the priority goes like this: stalkers > jumping/running bugs > chargers > bile titans > all other bugs. you target stalkers because they easily close the gap to you, even when running, and they murder you quickly. chargers are more annoying than bile titans, because bile titans are more prone to killing their own than you because of its massive legs and bile attack is just a friendly fire incident every second. the rest is just natural with me as the ones that run/jump on you can easily knock you out, closing that millisecond gap you had with the 100s of others and you die a horrible death.

the only thing that poses robots more as a threat is they have rockets, and some of their structures like mortars, anti-air and stratagem jammers. but the thing is that all off these are solvable. if you crouch/prone, you take less damage from rockets, and the buildings dont respawn.

and i do play 9. helldiver on bugs aswell, i just enjoy the bots a bit more because of the whole creek meme.

the reloading on recoilless keeps you exposed for so long, chargers and, literally any bug can kill you.

and, unless youre not level 25, quasar is the best of both world. recharged after about 8 seconds, with the only downside being a 4 second wind-up delay for firing, its easy to learn and great again huge hordes of elites.

only time we return to an MPOI is bunkers. we usually leave the samples outside lay there so we know which ones are the bunker due to the gem icon.

If you stay in one place for too long you can end up in situation where you kill the patrol but before you kill the horde another patrol comes and then Its just a death spiral.

but a generally really good tip i can tell you is to pick your fights. not only is prone and crouching to reduce recoil, but to sneak around/away any threat. having the starship troopers mindset for everything is what kills you.

once you learn to spot and avoid patrols, that's when you go from struggling at level 6, and can breeze through level 7-9.

i recommend getting nuclear radar. not many talk about it, but being able to spot enemies 100 meters away from you without them noticing you is OVERPOWERED AS FUCK, and you get that info by pressing tab once
