I'm running it on Ubuntu. After every update I have to enable Proton, start and close game, disable Proton, start game and play. Otherwise it crashes upon starting a test drive or match.
Then, at the start of every match, the game freezes twice for 2 to 10 seconds.
After all this it still occasionally bricks my PC and I have to hit the physical restart button.

ok so, the A5c is like for me horrible to use, j7d much better but yeah.
the F100 is definitely a competitive aircraft so you can definitely use it just like the f104.
The J-6 is like eh and J7II is dog water imo, horrivle stock grind.
I recommend going for the j8B first. Then the f104G and f5s since those are js not good.
J7e is rlly good, best mig 21 airframe
J8B I’ll tell later if u actually got it.
If u have grinded those, go for the j10a, it was my first top tier aircraft and it’s just good at most stuff. I’ve done 50km shots but like just keep it at medium close range. It’s really agile too.
The mirage is good too ig but I prefer J10
I don’t really like the J8F, stoxk grind is horrible. sure u get PL-12 but I prefer good airframe. Not a boat.

I have played a ton of J7E ~250 matches. It was pretty decent, rwr was incredible. I tried to spade the J8B multiple times, but it seems quite underwhelming. The RWR is fucking terrible, the gun while having more ammo, is mounted in australia, and seems to have mediocre damage at best. As for the missiles, PL5B's are pretty decent 3'rd party missiles. Any advice on how to grind to the aspide's? It kinda seems pointless playing it when I have the J7E.

J8B is like very mid but with good radar missile.
Yeah it doesn’t have launch detection but.
If you are going bvr and someone is tracking you for like 5-10 seconds then I just know he launches.
tbh the guns don’t bother me that much but yeah damage can be horrible sometimes.
PL5bs are good when launching from above, range can be like 4-5 km.
Well I would just go low if you’re on an uptier, like mig 23s and stuff.
If you’re in a downriver you can go higher and launch missiles from above.
If you have the aspides here are some things I do:
first of all I use like hand selected radar targets so I basically use arrow keys to select targets.
Bvr:
when I go bvr I usually go like 4K meters. below the white thingy smoke. Or I go 13k meters.
You have really good acceleration and you’ll be the fastest so you’ll be able to pick whoever you want.
If you know radar stuff do this:
select radar range to 60km when looking for people, when you found someone switch to 30km.
Aspides can be launched from 18km but if you’re the opponent, you’ll assume someone is launching.
Radar only has search mode so it’s shit.
But people don’t know how to dodge these SARH missiles. (Tip do rolls)
you can also use the aspides really efficiently from rear shots, usually free kill.
I get atleast 4 kills every game
just prioritize grinding the aspides
and if you’re having problems with like the aspides being “bad” lmk I’ll give advice 😃👍
tmrw I’ll make a lil guide for the ranges of the radar so if you’re gonna be using the hand selecting, you know somewhat the ranges
