World-Wide Wild West
The main setting takes place in the 2040s, in an alternative history version of Earth. It takes influences from Western, Cyberpunk, Science Fiction and Retrofuturism, TTRPGs and their adventurous nature and a Cartoony swath of stylization.

It all comes together to create a world that while not being the ideal utopia that human civilization strives for, with many dangers and dangerous people roaming the Earth, it gives a feeling of freedom, conflict, thrill and peace alike and adventure.

The Olden Times
The 19th century and the 'Wild West': the frontier of the American country, full with tragedy or treasure - the people, the criminals, the law, the way of life came to be a very influential culture to not just the United Commonwealths, but the entire world. The lifestyle of a guy who just goes out there to trade muscle for money or their own gains - legal or not - became quite prevalent, for better or worse.

The 20th century was not very kind on human... kind.

• The Great War raged on for the first half of the 1900s, taking a third of the human population with it and leaving the world in a nuclear winter. Its aftermath left nations shattered, scarred apart by massive, lawless gaps in territory dubbed 'no-mans-lands'.
• The Cold War, taking the second half of the century, saw a massive shift in all parts of civilization. Anti-war protests and riots swept the world. Thus, wars were fought by proxy, covertly and under the guise of 'peacekeeping operations' by the West and East alike.
• The Bang of '96 was humankind's first encounter with extraterrestrial life, when an alien freighter crash-landed on Earth. The regions around the world where parts of the ship landed were terraformed into lush alien landscapes dubbed 'Impact Zones', inhabited by mutated flora and fauna.

The 21st century is where our main story takes place, namely the 2040s.

• Salamen are a sapient mutant species that now inhabits the Earth alongside humans. They originate from the events of the Bang of '96, when the aliens experimented on captured subjects with human, amphibian and their own DNA. They are short, dumpy, highly intelligent and live on Earth as formal citizens.
• TALON and OST are two main, but certainly not the only influential factions that politically and strategically butt heads. The former is a Western strategic alliance (comparable to our world's NATO), the latter being a younger, but still powerful Eastern counterpart.
• The Magpie Consultancy Group and the titular Magpie Mercenary Corps are the protagonist faction of the story. A relatively small company network focused on logistics, security and the odd mercenary job. They help civilians, fellow NGOs and soldiers alike by providing supply connections, security, aid and other services. They're not the biggest fish in the pond, but maybe that's what keeps them afloat.

You don't have to retopo it. You could optimize it more tho, I was too lazy to do it since it's just for a portfolio. It sits on 32.8k Polys. You could go to maybe 15k Polys if you really need to.

Depends on the asset. If it's a creature for animation then it have to be quads, if it's basically anything else it must be tris

Especially if you intend on baking High Poly onto Low poly, it must be tris. Otherwise you'll get weird artifacts

I figured I'd make the characters all noncanonical and not directly connected by blood to any major character.

Yeah. Its always weird to me when fanfiction goes out of its way to say "Oh this character is related to this character and is such and such and such."
I argue that Bella is the granddaughter of a Nato backed scientist sent into the Expanding Zone to gain info and report back to his benefactors, but he has to keep quiet about his allegiances, because its frowned upon much like how the Mercs are generally disliked for taking western money

Just like how Zoey is a western Merc, Yulia's dad is working with the UNISG to secure an exit from the Zone for him and his daughter, and how Prairie is often roped into reputation tanking assignments to assist a western Benefactor's goals for a good bit of cash.

Still more S.T.A.L.K.E.R, here we are dealing with the Military with Sasha. Sasha is set at the Military Checkpoint and sometimes makes patrols up to Yantar and Agroprom base running errands for the higher ranking troops.

Where i ended the night, and where it will stay as per my rules. Trying to get better and faster so 1 a day, no working on it the next day for now.

Getting theblines more bold was less of a time sink and did more then getting the hand and foot done. I was pressed for time, and I still went to bed 20 mins late.
