Currently, the only way to make the railguns accurate to my knowledge is to install this mod that fixes the targeting issue. I've managed to actually hit ships at 80km with the railguns and spaag at 40km
You'll still probably miss a few good shots especially on moving targets but it's still alot better than not having it at all
This does make spaag and other units more accurate btw since it fixes their targeting too

This mod feels like an actual Official Nuclear Option update
The one who probably made this mod should actually join the Official Dev team for nuclear option ngl
the cargo door closes very rapidly, and damages the ventral strakes & rear control surfaces
I was able to consistently re-create this when dropping cargo items quickly back to back
additionally it would be neat if we could get the new SAM launchers added to work with the tarantula as well
and the new recon vehicle can't be airlifted by the tarantula as it's over it's MTOW, would be neat if it could. Thanks

like really. Whats so changing about NOTT that the plane refuses to take off
ask NOTT devs. It seems to be affecting the FM on the vehicle and just, doesnt work
You can use it with NOTT if you disable that option

- let us carry hexhounds as cargo! maybe 6 total between the 2 bays
- expand the bomb bay so it can carry more munitions and bigger munitions (2 paveways or like some r6 and scythes)
- please let us put gunpods on the wing pylons (like those 20mm that can lock on to planes if they infront of you)
but yea those are my few suggestions! love the mod and i can not wait for future mods you have in mind!!

When making missions, I found that our options for radars are a little overkill for the RAM-45 batteries. Would it be possible to make the radar container available in the mission editor ?
I'm assuming it is as powerful as the radar on the T9K41 Boltstrike.
Also, spinning the RAM-45 and the MMR-3 turrets into their own combined mod, with dependency would be a nice touch !
I intend to add radar and fire control crates as well so you can assemble full SAM sites :)

tried to make a mission with like 12 of them on Altercation and and they either flew around radar jamming but not attacking or they crashed into the ground-
I am in so much pain having to stare at such a teasing file at the top of that list.
Also tbf a super serious mission where you need to use jammers to get past corvettes & then 1 turret to knock out a ground target only for the final message to say what you delivered while risking your life was just snacks would be top tier mission design.

at 40km you can only really hit buildings and some ships.
20km you can get semi-accurate fire on stationary vehicles
below 10km for moving vehicles

Pretty much all of the payloads of the Chimera can be thrown out the back at altitude given they have chutes except for the Type-12, for which I advise basically doing a touch & go where you hit the dirt at landing speed, roll the tank out the back then take off again
FRCV can be paradropped but survival is not guaranteed
So how far from the target should I begin a drop? I've noticed a delay due to the obvious door opening and slide out time.
I typically begin the drop about two seconds before the wheels hit the ground

HLT Radar truck works for RAM-45 containers
in terminal i capped the airport and made the sam sites really kick , the bunch of missiles intercepted were brutal bc of the naval siege
so a tarantula can carry a truck for ya, while your chimera carries a munition pallet and a RAM container
and bam, a mini SARH site
the tratantula can carry ram too, with ibis
its worth a lot if you need a fast deploy medium range sam site

the blown wing mechanic takes some getting used to since it makes your lift directly scale with your thrust when the flaps are down

for yaw authority she then uses split-drag rudders and thrust differential

Chimera has very hard suspension due to her high weight range, F-16’s ones need a bit of tuning as the rear ones are rather bouncy

@ornate charm not sure if this has been reported but the area around the cargo ramp is actually loose. if you move the aircraft up/down and left/right you will notice it wobble a little. this also includes the left horizontal stab being loose.
Dropping cargo with speedbrakes fully extended can lead to some whoopsies
So, as far as I understand, not being able to take off under max load/going on the loop without is a NOTT compatibility problem?

I miss the radar warning window, but it's not the end of the world
you actually can use NOTT with it, just disable the countermeasures screen iirc
Best thing of KSP's ModuleManager is that you can force-fix this kind of stuff for users by 3 strings in notepad and never hear about it again

I only ask since it seems to have taken a lot of unique design cues from the C-17 (the split brakes on the wingtips to yaw at low speed are a BEAUTIFUL touch.)

When I first launched the mode, it had huge troubles with structural strength, the tail could just self-cut itself from the plane, cuz of long usage of the roll
So, pls fix it

i believe the ai for this aircraft is bugged, it constantly likes to roll and the main cargo is bugged so it takes a restricted loadout whenever it spawns
ya the AI are bad with it due to its funky flight handling (blown wings) and don't have routines for cargo with fixed-wing aircraft yet
despite that its still a well put together mod, well done
what kind of code do you need for the ai to be able to fly it properly?
is the plane ai generalistic or do they finetune it a lot?
zero, just engine-level prefab assembly and setting up monobehaviours.
Chimera would need some augmentations to the plane autopilot to account for her blown wings and the fact she can drop cargo

I suddenly lost the ability to spawn the Chimera. It was working earlier today.
I don't have NOTT installed
the latest hotfix may have broken spawning it from airbases 
That's the only thing I'm thinking. Also, the ability to carry the tank or the AA associated with the mod disappeared.

My KARS and BOTES don't work either.
Its so weird because I know it was working yesterday. Now that I think about it, I haven't played it since yesterday.
Ok I was able to get KARs to work by deploying an FOB container and spawning only from the FOB which is weird because I could spawn from really anywhere before. Still working on BOTEs.
I love this mod though and the further depth you've added to it with the additional units. It's become my new favorite mod.
Ok...now I can get the tank (something 105) to be carried by the Tarantula. I don't remember if the new IR SAM you made could be carried in the Tarantula before but it's not appearing.
Ok so I installed a few other mods to test and the only ones were yours (I downloaded the F-16 and MIG-15 as well). Looking on other forms it looks like others are having problems with other mods.
It's kinda funny because now that I have the F-16 and MIG, I wanna try them lol.

They do it WAY less than hexhounds, place them a bit more apart of each other so their missiles don't cross path close to ground

@ornate charm this is what I meant last time with the loose rear. you zoom in on the stabs you can see it's not totally attached properly. pull hard enough with no payload and it wobbles heavily.

when deploying the R9 from a standstill it gets super friction on the ramp and gets pinched, damaging the tail
this doesn't happen if you're rolling or presumably if you airdropped it (...does it have parachutes?)
not a big deal at airfields because you can just return the plane to inventory
did the same thing on the runway instead of the grass and it actually got out
i will keep doing this

yeah airbrake + cargo drop is risky for a lot of cargos

hi yall, im messing around w the ram45 sams and is there any reason why they dont wanna work together, here in the background is one like very near the radar truck and this one is bit further and the further one genuinely doesnt shoot at all it has a current target locked but doesnt fire at all, is it just smh too far away from the radar truck or theres something wrong w it (also i thought it may fire after first battery runs out but no, it still doesnt fire)

Okay, I checked cuz I'm dumb dumb:
I'm using the Lag gun-aiming type
In theory, it should be more accurate as it'd let me line up my targets without chasing a circle
ahhhhh
In this case it appears to be giving me the wrong thing
I have no idea if it’s the same for the other gun aiming reticle
it's a bug with the pip aiming type
it only changes it visually for your HMD
it sticks to lead by default for your MFD even if it is different for your HMD
imo I've never had issues with the lead indicator so it might be an issue with the lag indicator being buggy
However, I haven't tried gunning down a Chimera yet
And from what I saw the MFD crosshairs were definitely telling you your aim was off if nothing else
Which leads me to suspect the lag indicator just isn't accurate
You were consistently overshooting the target after all
Probably could use being modeled as a funnel rather than a lag indicator to fix that ngl
there's a mod out there I think that gives the gunsights a funnel thing
but not sure
they can, but the current vanilla missions have no aircraft in reserve for them, nor factories
you will have to use the mission editor or look for a workshop mission that adds these things specifically
Also I believe they will only use them as a bomber. And while more capable of that that a cargo plane should be... its no Darkstar 😛

Aryx, I am a logistics and gunship player, who's been hoping for a such a mod for a long time. This mod has been such a blessing for me, I wanted to say this mod is so awesome and you did such a great job with it. If there was one thing i would add/fix would be the bomb bay a let it carry lots of pabs like as much as there darkreach. But the main purpose of this is to say thank you so much for blessing us

This mod was the first mod I ever installed for NO, went out of my way to learn how to mod the game yesterday just to install and try this. Next thing I knew, that was an 11 hour solo game of Terminal Control, and not a second of it wasn't fun. Thank you so much for this Aryx, it's been fantastic

I removed NOTT from my mod list and the AI was still unable to take off, the only other none ARYX mod I have is QOL

So uh, I moved one of the launchers with the cargo hook on a Tarantula... It became obsessed with targetting a potentially-real-potentially-imaginary submarine 
Had the same with the MMR-S3 version earlier, using the cargo hook to relocate them breaks vertical movement of the turret it seems
idea: AIO Scythe (or NL-98) + MMR-S3 launcher (like the SPYDER AIO), deployable from the MC-260
