This is probably the best and worst 2k game ever. The new animations are great. The movement for 6'10s is horrid. This game markets different builds but they are really only a few that are successful builds. This game really only dedicated it's time to smal guards. Not bigs not SF 6'10 builds. Big builds barely post and rebound and dunk as they should. For those that try to be all around, you can, but just don't be 6'10

I'd say it depends on the shots you shoot. If you try to only shoot wide open/open shots, with the occasional time where you get more contested than you thought, then HoF Set Shot and Silver Deadeye is probably the move. If you are just trying to pull it no matter who's jumping at you, Gold Deadeye is better for that

Unfortunately, you can't play on them once you're bronze plate. They should have another court that doesn't give any REP at all, just for people to chill, practice, or play on new builds

No I'm 1000% with you. Gameplay is just a hair slow, ball security is honestly awful (the number of times I do a behind the back dribble with 85 ball handle and the ball just goes through my opposite hand and flies away is absurd), O boards are a tad strong, shooting is somewhat inconsistent, passes should be a little faster in general, or at least pass acc should be cheaper in the builder, and yeah, as always, the community sucks. But otherwise? The REP system is fantastic, Max+1s are amazing, Badge Elevators, while useless a lot of the time, are great when making a new build, and cap breakers + this year's builder truly allows you to make some super stars if you want. I think offline, the game feels incredible. Playing MyLeague and such, the new dribbling system and trying to learn combos, etc. There's just some broken cheese that dominates much of the online modes, and latency in general is awful because 2K needs to upgrade their servers. But I do think this is one of the better 2Ks recently, personally.

I think the idea is that, a typical 60 overall build doesn't have the ratings to make even a wide open 3pt shot. If I see a 60 on my team, I'll check their stats when we load in, and if I see they have a 78 3pt or something sure I'll pass the ball to them if they're wide open for 3 (and if they're wide open under the basket, I'll always pass them the ball because you can make an open layup with like, a 40 layup). But 60 overalls usually have low pass acc, shooting, and no shot creation abilities, and unless you know who's on the 60 overall, you can't always trust that they'll keep swinging the ball to the next man (even though they should)

Sure, I get that. It also depends on how the game is going. If, for example, I saw the player make a good pass to an open teammate earlier in the game, or saw them make a shot already, or at least take a smart shot that just didn't go in, I'll be more likely to pass them the ball more. Typically even at 60 ovr I'll give them a chance or two to try to prove they're not just going to turn the ball over or take a heavily contested shot.

But it's just hard because even good players on a 60ovr can struggle sometimes with being able to do certain things just because their build isn't upgraded

I try to not go into online matches till I'm at least 85 overall. I might play on the casual courts with a 70something overall, but I'll usually have my physicals nearly maxed and be good enough at doing at least one thing on offense (passing, shooting, or finishing)

I definitely would suggest revisiting the physics engine sometimes it feels like the game is run by its animations, and then in moments when it isn’t, you have things like the bump steal what person can unintelligently reach for the ball with their back to the offensive player, and the ball kind of magnetize itself to their back and you lose the ball on the turnover. I do miss some of the badges like workhorse, and I don’t feel like paint prodigy represents inside play like fast twitch did. And I’d rather not talk too bad on paint patroller, but it is definitely not intimidator. Paint patroller should at least boost your agility or vertical depending on bad level. I feel like I get better animations than my legend paint patroller with my silver who has a higher vertical and longer wingspan.
And please please bring back alternative shot meters having three shot meters for all of 2K… the dial, the ring, and the arrow is unsettling, especially for people looking to master the dunk meter it’s inaccuracies kind of defeats the purpose of having 99 driving dunk. As well as with driving dunks and layups body contest that stop forward momentum and cause you to lose the ball, should be considered a foul. There are plenty of instances in the NBA where lunging yourself at the room towards you with a line trip, especially when you have high dunk or layup. The contest system does have a tendency to reward over penalizing high dunk contest. Just as well as the issue of not registering a contest if you are off your feet and still in the air

Post scoring can easily be stopped if you’re going against an all defensive big. Some people make bigs with max defense and strength. Plus post hooks barely work this year so you have to be a magician to score

Man they have AND 1 for 2v2 and city 3v3 for a week in theater- and idk about y’all but the junk they keep putting In here is unplayable.

Does anyone enjoy loading into a game that ends at 11 points? Wasting your boosts? It takes longer to load in then it does to play!

And all these funky NON basketball modes MAY be fun for some if they were an option but I sure as heck don’t enjoy scoring points for steals or stops, caffeinated was terrible and they do it over and over. How many of y’all think they should have a permanent 3v3 mode for squads?!

We need a permanent squad eligible 3v3 and 2v2 mode that go by basketball rules.

Personally I don’t like make it take it but it’s such a 2k staple I understand a lot of you will disagree.
Surely NOT how I played 2v2 in the neighborhood IRL as a kid. It’s always make it take it.

Ice cubes leauge isn’t make it take it. It’s just disappointing because all purple squads hunt for easy wins in park and dominate the no squads courts. And theater runs slow and delayed, and it’s the same old jerseys instead of regular clothes.

But that’s the only place I’ll be for the next week hoping they put a legit mode in theater again next week.

I would start out on Normal Risk timing for shots and layups, and as you get better, switch to high risk for shot timing. Personally I still use normal for layups

A lot of it is personal preference, but I like to turn off the automatic switching hand during dribbling, since sometimes I'll switch hands when I don't want to
