I can not stress this enough FIX THE DUNK METER!! It is broken beyond belief. Sometimes it won’t even come up and twice in one match the SLIGHTEST bump from behind stops my dude mid dunk to a terrible layup or strips him. Interior defense is non existent unless I press the Block button and that shouldn’t be the case

I would think that 93 interior and 97 block and max +1 both paint patroller and post lock both to legend would help me get stops with just hands up defense but that’s not the case at all.

Don’t get me started on the bump steals after rebounds or just the camera turning in general it’s literally insanity

playing 2k25 for 2 weeks and just realized that You can use real player % for layups in online games and that everybody does it.

So I also Switched from normal risk/reward to real player and I'm asking myself if the "pro touch" badge still have any effect now?

The content is ridiculous and 24/25 needs a damn manual! Too many modes and settings.

He made the layup with very early timing 😆 and with real player percentage it's even worse because that will always be a made field goal. So where are the skills? I make a lot of assists and I have 50 on passing ability. I mean I often make really bad passes! So I don't need to improve the passing attributes. And Mike Wang said attributes matter? That's not true and even knowing how to play basketball doesn't matter! Without any patches the game was ok for me. Just green or miss in online modes was necessary

Need more contact lay up animations for high lay up builds instead of getting blacked by wings with a 78 block.

I have a 98 layup and layups are the hardest shots in the game for me because of either timing random animations or I’m always getting blocked. @regal thicket more contact layup animations please. Animations that can actually be made. Please just don’t throw animations in the game that are near impossible to time and green

Put the real player percentage and you will be making a lot of them without even thinking about the timing, I have High risk on layups and I miss a lot of layups, and I like it!, and you're right because some layups have just weird timing but at least when you have a good animations and you make a tough layup you happy!! But now the people that don't want to work on the game, don't want to defend and don't want to practice timing are happy, beautiful, thanks for disrespecting the game of basketball 2k

Real player percentage is crazy because it disables so many other boosts, but you have to green to get the best percentage?

I use the meter. Green window so small it seem like. But then the meter doesn’t even stop when you let go of the button or shot stick. So it’s not like you really know how close you are to a green

game is completely broken in mycareer. idk if they increased rng through the roof or what, but I legit cannot make any kind of shot. Mind you I have a 96 mid and 86 3pt. Dribbling is also messed up. Since the season 2 update while driving I get this weird hitch where myplayer will pause his drive and do a completely unwarranted and unnecessary hesi before accelerating again. Defense & contests are also screwed. It’s just completely unplayable. Its sad not only because I spent 200 dollars yet again like a fool, but the game this year has potential to be the best in a while but it’s just a unbalanced unpredictable mess.

Earlier tonight in a game while guarding anthony edwards I locked him up and fully contested a layup with my 70 interior, hands up the entire time and it was a WIDE OPEN green. They did NOT buff interior defence.

Whatever happened to shooting has literally broken it. The green windows I on all my jumpshot animations keep sliding backward and forward completely unpredictably but seem to generally be way earlier than they were for some reason even though my timing profile didn’t change. I took a freethrow timed slightly late offline and adjusted the next one releasing earlier, and it gave me a very late. Cannot make this stuff up.

I found 2k24 to be awesome but complicated. After playing 2k 14, I had a lot to catch up on. I still don’t know what half the settings mean-let alone the in depth modes.

City is smaller, I would argue that there are still an intimidating amount of game modes, but there are a lot of reasons to play each game mode due to events, the rep system, the rank system (if that's something that interests you, etc)

There are a ton of settings too, but you can always find youtube videos or what have you to try to help figure that out

Eg, I saw endless tips on removing the “shot meter” to gain 20% on 2k24 but nothing about it for 2k25. Everyone forgot I guess.

I thought they removed it with the addition of rhythm shooting etc. And why change the shot meter againHonestly- like what the hell?

The settings however I’ve found only ONE You Tuber who mentioned ONE setting of interest. Otherwise I’d have to hunt it down all day.

Also In game or online-There’s no explanation for anything! And there’s no effective way to practice or master anything. It’s a constant struggle to relax in the game.

The best way to shoot, from my experience, is by using the Rhythm shooting, AND turning off the shot meter. It makes it easier to see the animation your character makes, for timing the rhythm shot, and it gives you the extra boost from having the meter off.

They changed the shot meter again to attempt to deter cheaters, and I have seen far less cheating personally this year

Doing certain things helps your MyPlayer in the GOAT debates, and team accomplishments help your team's Dynasty in the Greatest Dynasty debates. ahh, yeah no, they're automatically active when you reach the required level for bronze, and then for every level after that, you'll get the badge after getting enough badge progression

Thats the game dude. I'm averaging 52% from 3, 57% overall and even i feel like it's pretty inconsistent. They need to fix what visual cue actually means because it 100% is not accurate. I have an 85 three point shot and shot better than everyone i know including those with 90, 93, 94 AND 99 three point shot. I don't care about a buff to shooting, just give some consistency to the release point of the shot and I'll be happy. I don't even care if it's a different animation on each different type of shot, so long as when I get to my release point (visual cue) is where I'm supposed to release the button.

It's partially because they're trying to get you into a game quicker, because if they made it so that people only played their natural position, you would be waiting 10 years for games because 50% of players make PGs, hence why you're stuck at SF half the time

After looking at the test results, I noticed that your network is getting disconnections while trying to connect to the Akamai CDN.
This is usually a network issue. I advise you to refer back to your ISP and mention to them you're having troubles connecting to 2K servers as your network is getting disconnection from Akamai CDN.

Problem with solution. Capped frame rates in online game modes. I understand that not everyone can run the game at a high end with their system however those that can will have a very very hard time adjusting to 60fps as many like myself play on between 165-240hz regularly. This puts us at a disadvantage. The solution is to add a frame rate cap option in the menus to allow people to cap the game so they can still play while the rest of us get to play the game like we were led to believe we could. @silent prism @regal thicket @severe horizon

Another problem currently on Steam, is error 727e66ac most people are not even able to load in to the game due to that error as soon as loading a my player. The biggest issue with this is you say everything is fine and working but it has not been since last night....

The visual contest, like it showing "light pressure" doesn't change. However, a light pressure contest from someone with no challenger vs a light pressure contest from someone with gold challenger, the one shooting vs Gold Challenger will make the shot less often

Challenger makes it less likely that they will make the shot if it procs. It just doesn't change the visual thing that says what level of contest it was

Shooting is fine. If you're complaining that it's too hard, you need to get a new jumpshot or learn rhythm shooting or something. The Center I play with shoots 60% on 3s with a 75 3pt. And if you wanna argue "well that's not off the dribble", I shoot over 45% as an iso forward with only an 80 3pt

Yeah I would say that build's primary position is SG, you wanna be the guy who is defending whoever their best player is, and then on offense, with that version of the build at least, I use a lot of off ball screens (or even on ball screens sometimes), and sitting at the hash or the corner and letting my PG and SF do most of the creation work

But if you want to be a better ball handler with it, you could probably go for 81 ball handle

I wouldn't call it reliable, but you can hit it. My lockdown has 83 3pt and 73 midrange, and I try to avoid taking midrange shots, but sometimes my guy steps in over the line. When that happens though, I still feel like I can make the shot even though the midrange is only 73

You're not gonna be creating midrange shots like fades and stuff with 73

but you can make catch and shoot shots

So if you had to choose the best bet for ALL AROUND comp balanced lock would you do 6’6 or 6’4 for the shooting @vocal juniper

As regards to how I play and how I like to play I like be balanced but more of a defender if that makes sense

I think it depends on your team and what they need. If you're playing this lock for example, but you have forwards who can both slash and space the floor, and a floor spacing center, you can run 5 out and it won't matter that your finishing isn't as good.

But let's say you don't always have a team, or you are playing on a team with an inside center or something. Then I'd recommend making a 6'4 lock

Yeah making a 6'4 allows you to have a lot more self creation, especially if you play with randoms a lot and can't always rely on them

Yeah it's all up to you. If you go 91 steal, you can always cap breaker to 96 (giving you both HoF interceptor and HoF Glove)

and you could Max+1 Interceptor to Legend if you wanted as well

I think versitile visionary is a really good badge, and if you are making a 6'4, you'll probably have the ball in your hands more than the pure lock I made, so it's probably worth it to get that if you can

You want 92 agility if you can afford it, but I know that's hard to reach. And I would say at least 90 speed on a lock, you can always cap breaker it to 95 later

The only way I’d be able to get more passing accuracy is if I dropped speed/agility or offensive rebounding. Do I need offensive rebounding or should I just get rebound chaser? @vocal juniper

What if you lowered standing dunk to 40, free throw to 70, and interior D to 55? Can you get 60 Defensive Rebound on that first build?

You could also go down to 91 speed if you needed, that might make it easier

The speed is still very useful to have though on a lockdown for a number of reasons

I assume close shot is pulled up because of the midrange being high, but if not, that could be lower. Driving layup at 80 unlocks silver physical finisher, along with some other layup packages. If you wanna be solid at driving dunks, may as well go 89 for contacts off 1. Driving Dunk is so cheap on 6'3s anyways. Standing dunk could be at 40. Pass acc should either be 71 or 78. If you're playing a lot of 5's/Rec, then I'd want 78, but if you're just playing park, 71 is fine.
Ball handle at 94 is good, lets you use 1 cap breaker to get to 95. And SWB at 86 is fine, but it depends on the point of the build. If you wanna iso more than anything, you'd want the 91 for HoF lightning launch, but you won't be able to keep that with the high defensive stats, so that's just something to consider more than a problem. Idk the reason for being at 65 interior, but it could be lower if you needed to get extra points elsewhere. 96 steal is nice, but you could consider going 91 and then using cap breakers later to get to 96, you'd still be fine with 91 for the meantime though. If you do wanna go for blocks, then that 61 will get you some on occasion, but with your short height and low wingspan, you probably won't get a ton. Personally I might just get rid of the block, whatever's the lowest you can keep it at while still keeping everything else. 60 DReb would be nice for Bronze Rebound Chaser, but it's not necessary if you can't afford it with everything else you need.

But the biggest problem with this build is the physicals, notably, the lack of strength. This year, I think strength is really important on every build. I don't think I will make a build this year with lower than 73 strength. That lets you get Silver Physical Finisher, Gold Strong Handles, and Bronze Brick wall on builds that are all enough. On top of that, you'd need 70 vert for the Malik Monk dunk package. You may want higher strength and agility, but it's probably too expensive to afford when you wanna do it all

The only thing I couldn’t afford is the 70 vertical and I had to knock down the standing dunk to 40 but was able to get all the other attributes we discussed. Honestly, I feel like this lockdown is as balanced as can be. @vocal juniper

Yeah but it's not able doing contact dunks, you're not gonna be going around trying to get contact dunks on a build like this. But you want to be able to hit the open ones with a good dunk package, and Malik Monk is a really solid dunk package that's worth having
