The in-game evaluation such as “a little faster” , “a little slower” and “away from Markman” are so vague that they go beyond unpleasant to creepy. Even when I contacted official, they didn’t reply,saying, “I’ll invite you to Discord, so please have a nice chat there!”

“slightly late” not “a little slower” and “slightly early” not “a little faster” (or did you mean them as opposites? “slightly early” = a little slower. regardless my later messages still hold true)

what you said does not mean the same thing. conceptually it does but the rewording of the phrase can throw ppl off a bit

“away from markman” is “leaving assignment” i guess

“Leaving assignment” literally means you are not guarding your man well. Play tighter defense because 2K thinks there is too much space between you and him. You will continue to be docked on your teammate grade if you do not play tighter defense.

“Slightly late” means your shot timing was just a little late. You should try and aim for the green and release a little earlier so you receive “Excellent”

“Slightly early” means your shot was timed too early. You should try and aim for the green “Excellent” and time your shots a little slower

I’m not really sure how you meant those were vague. I agree that one phrase that may seem slightly vague is “leaving assignment” but I was able to figure that one out after a couple of trials and errors. 2K’s phrases are not designed to be detailed, I guess, but rather quick hints to the player. I’m not quite sure what additional explanation you wanted, but I hope I was able to give it to you

And finding things in the USA vague is more of an opinionated thing. To me I felt like the 2K feedback was clear and only slightly 🤏 vague sometimes, but you felt it was very vague, so everything really depends on who you talk to, I guess

True that is pretty wild, as long as my online opponents aren’t hitting reds I’m not really too worried. At the same time I understand people’s frustration when it can feel as if you’re at least contesting a shot and the contest will sill register as wide open or open which is frustrating. Ratings, badges, wingspan, shot immunity/speed, user timing and how much in rhythm you/players are overall is probably what determines the result of the contest. So the variability in contest registration is insane just depends on the situation.

Difficulty according to the mode matters too since sliders change depending on what and where you’re playing.

Okay, this depends on what you mean by “good shot.” Shots that are slightly early or slightly late that may usually go in may not if you’re highly contested/if your skill level is not high enough for 2k to even consider letting you hit those shots.

i do think that there still might be a “pure green window” in which even if, for example, you have a 30 3pt but you still green a 3pt shot uncontested it will go in. not sure tho

Last year a couple of friends helped me figure out how the Rec queue works for centers, so some of that probably translates. Basically it weighs each teammate in 5 categories: height, weight, off rebounding, def rebounding, and interior def. Whichever player has a plurality as the top player in those categories will be the center every time. Haven't investigated it this year, but as a 6'10 center, I have been the 4 in multiple Rec games with a 6'8 center this year.

@mossy ice I cannot stress enough how important your feedback suggestion on leaning 3s is and how it shouldn't be being voted against. I've long said that these are generally unreliable shots. They're makeable shots, certainly, but they're a lower percentage shot in general. 2k routinely fails to replicate that. You go back to 2k21, I'd go as far back as 19 lol.

IRL, a leaning 3 is usually a win for the defense, even if they weren't able to get a hand up, because they're forcing a tougher shot. 2k routinely treats it as just another poorly defended possession, when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Check your NVIDIA Control Panel and make sure the right card is being used for the game...

And maybe try lowering the Shadows option in particular? If I remember correctly, Ultra has caused issues in the past if you have it there.

It's weird how the cut to the basket works better on the PS4. You can hold the triangle or x button and the computer still stays with you no matter how long you hold the button. Obviously the AI defense needed work on next gen because on the PS4 version you can hold the triangle button and the AI still stays with you when you make your guy cut to the basket

It takes some doing, but it is possible. The way I've heard of people doing it is:

• Turn on Real Player %
• equip Dikembe with a couple shooting badges, catch and shoot, Claymore, maybe Corner Specialist if you can
• +4 3 point shoe won't hurt
• HOF Dimer player to pass to him
• should be able to get it done on Semi-pro.

When playing online, it's like dead impossible to make a shot. How are people banking every shot they take? Should I assume a bunch of people are using hacks?

I can say this with so much certainty, there are times when I'm shooting the same way 5 times. It makes one out of 5 shots. So I don't believe shot timing is consistent in this game.

I don't believe anyone at 2K can even say truthfully that shot timing needs to be consistent for all your shots to fall. I really think 2K just doesn't want to accept, they messed up the whole shooting for all their NBA games.

@rich oar when you were able to hold the triangle button or why button as long as you wanted to the cut to the basket, it made it easier to score in next year in current gen. When you do it, the computer stays with you the whole time. I wish it was the same in next gen where the AI stays with you when you cut to the basket because the way it works in current gen is you hold the button as long as you want and they cut to the basket. Now when you called the button it's a two second press and a don't even cut to the basket when you do it

Yeah it's not as bad on current gen as it is on NextGen with the cut to the basket for current gen. You could hold it down as long as you want. On next . You can only hold the button down for about 2 seconds

Just picked up NBA 2K24 for my kid's birthday this friday on steam. Trying to get it setup for local coop. I have 5 xbox controllers and they're all synced up to my microsoft pc adapter dongle and my pc recognizes them.
When i login to nba 2k24, i've read that you might not be able to play the regular version of 2k24 w/more than 4 players, but blacktop mode should allow it. Under the blacktop mode, i see 5 controllers, but only 4 of them are responsive.
When i go into steam settings, i see 5 controllers at the top of the menu and when i test device inputs for each controller, it works. I have "enable steam input for xbox controllers" checked. i have also enabled the xbox extended feature support driver. Everything else is unchecked.
Is there anything else i can do to enable more than 4 controllers in this game? Steam issue or nba 2k24 issue?
