If they keyboard you are using is the Razer Huntsman V2, NBA2k22 see that keyboard as a controller for some reason. I can do everything in game without issue until i want to play park or REC, have to unplug my keyboard for the game to recognize my controller as the primary controller.

Open Device Manager and then in Human Interface devices, disable any "HID-compliant game controller" that isn't the one you are using. If you go into "Play Now" when you select a side, you'll see your controller is not "1". when you disable it, 1 will disappear. now restart your game and your controller will be 1.

@sterile anvil I had that at one point, think it was because I had all free spirit clothes (free spirit jacket as well) from the fashion quests on. Try changing your clothes and it should work. Also if the game ever freezes just press the Xbox button and the game sorts itself out

• Shooting is perfect right now. Once you get your badges and practice, you shoot better. Very realistic, keep it like this

• Interceptor animations are a little crazy, similar to early 2K22. Tone them down a bit. Nerf steal ratings harder when someone uses all their adrenaline boosts on defense.

• Fades from 3 are too strong. Lower the make rate of them or nerf Agent 3 badge. Currently, shooting a fading 3 is better than shooting a standing 3.

• Dribbling is amazing. Its super balanced and the way stamina works helps keep it realistic. Keep it this way.

• Offensive rebounds are too common and strong. 50/50 balls go back to the offensive player too much. Lower the success rate of this

What they need to do is fix the physics. When a ball hits the rim after being launched from the three point line, it usually tends to bounce back to at least the free throw line, not just next to the rim.

I'm trying to get better without a shot meter. Is there a way to turn the shot meter off for just free throws but keep it on for other shots?

Rampant Cheating is still a massive problem in NBA 2K23 on PC #📬game-suggestions

For those of us who don't cheat, building a myplayer this year is much more expensive. To make a 90 ovr last year was about 220k in VC, this year it is about 280k. That means we got about a 27% increase in cost vs real life inflation that is only 9%. #📬game-suggestions

The games you have cited are all free to play. So it makes sense for them to struggle with cheaters even with anti-cheat because there is no cost for the cheater to create a new account. Meanwhile in NBA 2K, the game has a cost and they (Visual Concepts) can already detect when VC is being hacked in.

If they were to a script of code stating to banned any player who's player card doesn't match their attributes they would massive bring down the problem. The biggest problem is there has never even been a comment on the cheating issue by a 2K or Visual Concepts employee.

The Park is unplayable on 2K PC because of cheaters. And now I'm top 15 in PlayNow online and my opponents mostly use modded controllers. Outside of cheaters and broken animations, I'd say there's only been a handful of players who are just straight better than me this year.

People think I complain too much about the game, but 2K has a monopoly on basketball games right now. 2K should hire the old NBA Live folk to fix AI movement and on-ball defense. NBA Live had it's flaws, but half-court gameplay was superb! 2K should adopt some of that stuff on Live that worked so well.

I play MyCareer on HoF difficulty and 12 minute quarters. With my endorsements, winning finals MVP, etc. the game determined I earned too much VC in one game and so I must have been cheating.

There also seems to be an inability to see that different departments do different things, it's just the umbrella of 2K until necessary. 2K Support can only do what they can with the information they're given, and then escalate. I've mentioned on the Steam forums multiple times that the game itself on PC needs a way to see Steam IDs to help facilitate 2K Support's efforts. Although, the developers doing something so the game itself can identify cheaters would make a huge difference.

And you don't need to have played online on the PC version to work that out.

You do see their Steam IDs but there's not an easy way to link back to their profile. If their username is "Bob" and you search "Bob" on steam it pulls up 500 accounts so it's hard to find the right one.

Fixing playshots was a great improvement, though they've kind of messed it up by buffing stealing to prevent ball-hogging. Stealing the ball from a player who isn't moving is way to easy and ruins gameplay for non-guards.

There are legacy issues there that can be improved, yes, but overall I think its undeniable that this is a good game of basketball. • Shooting percentages appear to be at or around league average

-Dribbling appears to be a much more decisive affair that forces the user to pick and choose spots more than ever

• Perimeter Defense feels pretty fluid on the whole

• AI Rotations are the best they've ever been

The only truly negative things I'm seeing are offensive rebounding and AI guarding backdoor cuts. There are some other more minor bugs and such, like the SF shooting glitch, but overall I've had the opposite experience

I have both bronze and silver cored. Both bars full. It just won’t let me core neither. I cored the bronze before playing the college quest line. Then after I finished the first college game. The bar was still full but I could no longer core it

There definitely needs to be an uproar about the cost of builds in 2K23. Many builds cost around 500k VC to max out. If you buy $100 of VC, you still cannot max out a build. Additionally, at least on next gen - we get damn near nothing for endorsements like we did in previous 2Ks.

Therefore, builds cost more money to upgrade AND the game gives less VC for going through MyCareer. I know Reddit and some content creators have focused on this, but there needs to be more. For a game that cost $70 to purchase, it's repulsive that microtransactions are this pricy. I get needing to make money, but there is a point where greed crosses the line.

I really enjoy playing MyCareer. Playing park, rec, and pro-am with friends is a lot of fun. Like most people, I also enjoy making more than one build; however, this year - I feel like I can't even make a second build. Maxing out my first build is going to be so expensive. The thought of another 500k VC for a second build (with how much VC we earn in-game) is so off-putting.

The learning curve is kind of steep. The longer you've been away the worse it gets. I usually try to play some exhibiton games to start with 2 lower overall teams. Last year I did an expansion league and played shorter quarters to get used to movement for different players.

I'm not sure if its a good or bad thing yet. I think the idea was that if you shoot with someone near you you'll be forced to get the shot off quicker.

On one hand that's a cool thing but this happens on shots that aren't even contested well. It'll be open or wide but because someone's in the vicinity it forces the animation

It's a bad thing. It's not good that the speed of someone's shot changes. Also, the speed of a shot can change if someone is near you. No hands up, not holding LT.

2K Labs did a test and said that there are catch and shoot animations where a player will be wide open, yet if the player catches the ball a certain way, the speed of the shot will change.

This is an RNG mechanic that the player has no control over. It's not good.

They probably wanted to lean towards realism, because your release changes as you get tired. I will say, from personal experience and training/playing a ton in real life - you’re not speeding up your shot to beat a close out. A less experienced/skilled shooter might do so but definitely not a trained shooter.

Watching footage, I'm not entirely convinced as to whether or not this is an issue. Typically when dunk attempts are being chased down, it's a meeting at the rim rather than the issues with bringing the ball back as it was last year. Usually the most emphatic chase downs in the league are happening when another defender is slowing down the break and forcing a softer layup attempt. Imo, if we're relying on chase down ability strictly from behind in 1-on-0 situations to stop attempts at the rim, we're doing it wrong as a whole.

For the whatever consecutive year, defensive inputs continue to lag a quarter of a second behind office of inputs giving the defense an inherent disadvantage. There’s also no fine-tuning of defensive controls, you can’t make subtle position adjustments, you just leap from one position to the other like you’re playing on a court coated in butter

Sure, but I think that we have to remember that the badge should only make it a possibility anyway, rather than a guarantee. Even the best chase down guys in the NBA aren't doing it without the exact right circumstances going their way

Chase down was OP last year and completely broken. They’ve compensated by making it almost irrelevant.

I feel like 2K does this a lot, they address a common problem by creating a solution that creates more problems.

For example, last year play shots were obnoxious, so they buffed stealing in order to discourage ball hogging. But what happens now is a player standing completely still gets the ball stripped from them and you have no time to set up an offense in the half court and big men regularly get multiple turnovers off rebounds.

I don’t disagree with this take completely, but an emphasis on chase down blocks wouldn’t be necessary if basic defensive controls weren’t so broken. The offensive player has an inherent advantage because latency connections always favor their movements over the defense. Moving your defender is very jerky and hard to maintain position against the player you’re guarding with animations regularly putting you out of position in the post.

I don't disagree, but these are separate issues. As it stands, I've not had too terribly much trouble staying in front defensively. When I've lapsed, that's been on me. As for chase downs specifically, I'm seeing them or equivalent plays in appropriate situations. If I get beat, it's not a bail out to recover, but if I'm in good position, it feels like I get rewarded for it (to an extent lol)

For instance, I just found a play, not exactly a chasedown, but a late game inbounds where I was up 1. My opponent tried to go at Steph Curry, Curry was in good position but would probably have been scored on, but he forced a softer layup, which I was able to block with Pau, whom I had in the paint to try to stop the pass (and probably should have, but that's a different issue). It all looked very nice and realistic.

It just means that it depends from person to person. There is no build that is "best" for everyone. You're probably different than the next person, so your build shouldn't be the exact same as them, if that makes sense

So I think the question is simply, how do you like to play, what do you want to do? Would you like to run the point, play a wing position or be a big? From there, do you want to shoot, play great defense? Get to the rim well? Dribble really well? Some combination of these?

My only problem with Live 18 and 19 was transition defense. I found myself usering the center to make sure he didn’t snap into a celebration animation and not get back and guard the rim. Also, my players would regularly double team the ball carrier instead of someone covering the second man.

NBA Live suffered from bad PR from previous installments. I think EA was too impatient since it wasn’t making money. A heathy NBA Live franchise is good for simulation basketball as a whole. Competition makes games better. Look at how bad Madden has become since it became the exclusive NFL game. 2K is on the same trajectory.

I agree with the premise of course, but not necessarily with the conclusion. What's really cost Madden is lack of innovation and loss of features. Thinking back to where the game was in 2k19 to now in 23, I can point to many huge steps forward in innovation and even just trying new game mechanics, even though some have not necessarily succeeded, 2k has not gone the EA route and kind of just... stopped trying on the field, or making small and insignificant changes that don't really make a huge difference. EA's neglect of Franchise mode while that mode was perhaps the location of 2k's biggest improvement this year is something that highlights this in my opinion.

I don't see a similar trajectory in 2k because I think that the devs generally take personal pride in the product, which is huge

The defense isnt bad at all in paint if you have anchor, its just that heads shooting guards only choose to run paint because we cant stop them on the flyby.

I have been n n 2k player since 2k3. I n don’t understand why shooters with a 90 + mid range n 3pt with shooting badges have to green every shot, but slashers and big men don’t have to green their layups and dunks especially with three people contesting thats not fair. I agree with stopping the dribbling spammers left and right dribblers, but why do defense get to spam the steal button and dont get tired but get a steal? No foul or nothing they get a steal with their back turned from the ball handler; like past 2ks or they swipe at air in get a contact steal, but when ppl jump in your back in the paint instead of getting a foul you lose the ball. Shooting with an 86 n higher 3pt n mid range should be able to make slightlys based off their badges and how open they are or make inside scoring have to green their shots because to me it seems like you guys catered to ppl who couldn’t shoot; who wanted to score in the paint and cant play perimeter defense now on defense all u have to do is just sit there.

i get that point, within paint defense they really do need to work on that, but in terms of defense overall i feel like the steals isnt abused as often, on defense if you pressed square or attempted to steal it would take one of your 3 energy bars which i feel balances things out. With the shooting opinion that you gave, the shooting system is actually really good this year for my take. The fact that your shot changes speed according to how close or far you are with ur defender as well as from the line. I have a 80 3 ball shooting 70% from the 3 and its more skill based because most people shoot by timing , instead of looking at a setmark for you to release your shot

With the shooting system this year, once you understand your shot and learn to find your setpoint before release, things can be used towards your advantage unlike other 2ks where your speed of your shot is remaining the same as it is. Imagine a scenario where ur defender is closing out on u as you shoot and your shot speed increasing is what actually helped you get ur shot off, instead of a normal speed that ur shot is set to. Things like those is hard to adapt to, but once you get used to it, it can easily be used towards your advantage

One thing i would say this year is, slashers, locks, and bigs are hugely buffed this year

If timing is Excellent, it will always be a make regardless of jumpshot type. I think stand still catch and shoot opportunities will have a bigger green window than other moving shot types, but I'm not certain. Either way, stand still jumpers are easier to green than moving shots

Yes. Green = make this year. Anything else = miss. With lower attributes, the green window is smaller, so be aware of that.

Is it possible that your copy of the game came with boosts that have now ran out? Make sure you're doing your Gatorade workouts. And I would check to make sure your jumpshot didn't default itself.

A lot of it comes to preference. I prefer having strength on my guards to make it easy to finish and also not get pushed around as much. But certain builds, in particular shooting ones tend to skim on strength

I’ve done all of the challenges: Shades of 1/2/3, Silencers, Intensity, and Limitless. I’ve gotten 1 Marcus Smart 91 overall and the rest have been 85 or unders. Has anyone been experiencing the same? MyTEAM is one of my fav game modes of any game but if I have to grind for 30 hours to get 1 Amethyst card, I just feel shorted. Its so freaking stupid how when you get a block or contest, the person who got blocked get rewarded with the rebound every time because we get a stupid animation every single block. 2k needs to tone down the after effects of a block, no guards should be getting consistent rebounds over a 6.11 big man. @minor hazel i use triangle for the blocks and snatch blocks, but i can never get the rebound, the person who was blocked gets it everytime because they dont get put in an animation. And since chase down badge doesnt work, guards are not scared to keep running paint. I miss when people wasnt stupid enough to keep rim running on a big man. People use to fear big men in the paint, but 2k is encouraging guards to rim run when they dont fix Chase Down. People dont even really shoot anymore. Its all paint work
