The only way your team wins if Gainnis has the game of his life from 3. Statistically Defensively Giannis best season he averaged 1.9 blocks and 1.6 steals and that was in 2016.

Wemby his rookie and sophomore year averaged over 3 blocks and 1 steal a game.

Rebounding is similar statistically, Wemby 3 point field goal % is 6 points higher.

Given the fact players get better over time, and wemby is already averaging peak Giannis numbers, it’s a safe presumption wemby will be far better at peak than Giannis.

I got Kobe 5th best all time, I would have him at fourth but Bill Russel just accomplished too much, different era of basketball that I firmly believe almost any big now would easily would’ve have been a hof, but at his time he was next undoubtedly next level, so

But to me, there's a difference between the people who get fouled because you can't stop them (like Giannis), the people who get fouled because they are good at manipulating defenders into fouling them (like Jimmy Butler), and the players who are good at manipulating defenders into fouling them BUT they still feel the need to flop, flail, make faces, and otherwise act as if they got shot at even the slightest contact (Shai, Embiid, etc). Especially disappointing when you know that they're a good player and that they don't need to be doing that stuff in order to get buckets

This is the biggest reason why guys like Jokic and Tatum don't always get calls as much as they should. They're not doing all this flopping and flailing, they're just going through contact. But that's on the refs to do their job better.

Tatum’s lack of FT’s stem from system and shot selection more than anything else. He’s essentially discouraged from driving.

As for joker, hard to compare to a guard. Jokic just has unreal touch around the rim. Hes not guarded by wings who will hurl themselves at him either

SGA is able to get guys reaching and in the air because he’s so good in the short mid range. That’s where a lot of these flops or baits come from. It’s still generated because he’s so good, not the other way around.

But when he does drive, he gets fouled a lot more often than it's called. He has a terrible whistle, and it's shown by the number of times he gets a tech for clapping (often right after a horrible non-call on a drive). I agree I'm not expecting him to average the most FTA in the league like, ever, because Boston shoots so many 3s, but it doesn't take away from the fact that he has a bad whistle.

The most clear example for Jokic is just how he looks at the end of a game. He'll end a game with 4 FTA and his body will look like he was in a fight with a bear for the last 2 hours. A lot of the non-calls on Jokic (and some of them on Tatum) stem from the thing refs like to do where, if the shot goes in anyways, they just won't call the foul, but if the shot misses, then they'll call it. It's very frustrating watching them wait and blow a late whistle because they were busy trying to see if it went in first, as if that has any effect on the fact that a foul took place.

And yes, don't get me wrong, a lot of the time, when Shai is foul baiting, it's because he's good at it. The problem isn't that he foul baits, the problem is how he foul baits. The second someone even touches him just slightly, he'll just immediately chuck the ball in the direction of the basket, whether he was going for a shot initially or not, to get a shooting foul. Or he'll just fall over sometimes on drives hoping that they'll give him a foul, even though the defender didn't actually foul him

People say "basketball is so 3pt heavy nowadays", but he's showing he can succeed as a 2 way guard who mostly does not look to score from 3, and he's very talented at getting to his spots and scoring tough shots. If he wasn't flailing, making that face, and throwing his body into defenders and then begging for the call, he'd be a very easy guy to root for. But then he does that stuff and it just looks like ugly basketball. Like why are you just acting like you got shot and throwing the ball in the general direction of the rim, c'mon, at least try to be subtle
