Those role players were perfect that year. Shumpert who wasn’t an offensive machine, was able to focus on locking up Klay with his top-tier defense. Dellanova could give Kyrie a break and come in and cover Steph. Love was that box out freak on the boards who could stretch and be ready for knockouts when everyone covered Lbj and Kyrie on drives. It was a great mesh of teammates to cripple that Warriors amazing year.

As for the Celtics… KP stretches the floor at the 5 (something Rob Williams wasn’t known for) and is much taller as a presence in the paint, yet RW has a special talent when it comes to timing a block attempt that I believe makes up for the size difference. Al may be considered “old” but let’s not forget his defensive masterclass on display against the MVP Embiid last year in playoffs. My concern with last years C’s team, they settle way too much for 5-Out perimeter shots with little to no off ball movement (even against Miami’s 2-3 zone 🤦‍♂️ instead of a 1-3-1 to attack the gaps). This works well against man defense when their shots are falling. That wasn’t the case last year when Brogdan injured his arm, negating his lights out shooting. Losing Smart hurts their defense, but Smart has been inconsistent from the perimeter. Let’s also remember what happened when Smart met Holiday in the ECF a few years back. So it appears as though they’re sticking with their offensive approach of 5-Out perimeter-centric shooters while JT & JB iso (fun to watch 🫤), while relying on proven veteran leadership on the defensive end. They say defense wins championships 🤔

Sure, but there is a lot of moments that IRL players are ball watching or helping on Defense and get dotted, they have almost zero time to react to that and play defense on the shooter, in 2K terms you can nearly always get back to your shooter to defend him even if ball watching sometimes @fair edge

Joel Embiid, the NBA’s reigning Most Valuable Player, has committed to play for Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympics, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

Embiid informed Team USA executive director Grant Hill of his decision on Thursday morning, sources said, just days after the two quietly met for close to an hour in Ft Collins, Colo., where the Sixers are holding training camp.

Embiid, who was born in Cameroon and holds both French and American citizenship, has been at the center of an intense recruiting battle over which country he will represent at the Olympics.

He ultimately chose to represent the United States, sources said, because he wants to help the United States return to the top of the international basketball world after it failed to medal at the World Championships in Manila this summer.
