I think he plays at disadvantage in most matchups and if you’re winning easily with him then you’re either just really good at spacing/dodge usage and reading your opponent or your opponent doesn’t know how to fight a Jason. If they know what they are doing you should be fighting dodge burnout constantly and always having to escape to reposition… there are a lot of characters you just don’t have to do that with because they have better hit boxes, range, disjoints, or are just plain faster. Is he bad? No… but I would rate him toward the bottom when comparing to the roster… a lot of this is also dependent on the mode you play though as well

I only play ranked now. Made it to Plat yesterday. I think I'm just good at reading people. It's what has carried me in most fighting games I play. I think matchup knowledge helps for some of them too since they don't know. I try to mixup how I play during the match though

Won't go for forward airs for a bit and rely on the other moves then go for a dodge in forward air to catch em off guard

I think mixing up the moves for sure helps… I like to do a couple neutral axe attacks before I do that turbo one so it catches them by surprise it’s almost always a free stock

I think once you get used to playing at disadvantage he feels fine for the most part… but I did try Jack just to see what it felt like, and it felt like when Goku loses the weighted cuffs… I was like oh I can jab without fear of retribution, I can hit from far away, I can move out of the way of things without dodging, I did over 200 damage without even trying and we easily won and then I put the cuffs back on and went back to Jason lol

outside of those matchups you can kind of play him and do fine

there are only a handful of characters that genuinely completely invalidate him despite having some harder matchups

Fighting games are just reading people and manipulating them. When you start beating their bs they either keep doing it because they don't know what else to do or they try changing up. If good they'll know how to change it up. Then when you start beating them especially if it's easy for you they'll resort to what they know again

It's a lot of thinking to do while playing but depending on your skill and knowledge of the characters you can do it.

Batman, Harley will slide a lot and as they start charging/running I jump for it. If they slide then free slam. If not jump again and slam anyway 😂 assuming I don't get hit.

Is because most characters have a very hard edge control, and the real campers are the characters that hard punish getting knock off the stage.

At least is experienced like that. Wall fatigue is a little bit exaggerated considering how difficult is actually to getting into stage with 'Edge campers'.
