After an initial combo that might launch people in the air, it’s easiest to wait for someone to panic dodge after their hit stun, then up special them afterwards. Depending on where they are at you will want to side attack in the air instead. Up attack is so precise and vertical so up special helps to catch. You will want to utilize Jump boosting a lot too to catch or follow people to make up for Jason being slow

I haven’t noticed that, but I have noticed several instances where you hit the second part of any character’s multi hit string (usually jab 2) and for some reason you have whiff level lag and landing the attack is literally negative on hit

it's the neutral axe charge attack where he walks forward... but if you rage up first and use a dodge movement into it you cover waaaay more ground and move much faster... the window for the input is maybe tighter than you realize if you have trouble doing it consistently

Dodge meter being used for more than just dodging is what separates certain skill ceilings I think in this game... I’ve gotten to silver 3 or 4- and I have learned some things.

1. Jason’s kill power is bonkers and helps me keep up with Jacks Finns Batman’s etc. I think I killed a Batman off the top this morning when he was at 46 with up special and that was a nice dopamine hit.

2. I’ve relied a LOT on trading attacks with the rage/grey health up. Almost everyone in ranked runs away from you when you rage up, but if you sneak in a rage while they are advancing on you, you can catch them for a good charged hit hopefully. Got a few kills this way with Batman grappling into me while I popped a rage. Also, a fully charged rage completely tanked Jacks side special with super meter which I found interesting

Honestly, there’s only really a few more things I’d change about Jason

-Make bag dodge cancelable
-Rage isnt affected by armor break or grabs

2. Massively reduce the whiff lag on grounded down special
3. Don’t allow armor breaking moves to remove rage (especially armor killer)
4. Make the knockback of air neutral special grab send more diagonally downwards to always force a ground bounce on stage
5. Allow the Resurection perk to take effect on every stock for Jason and once for his teammate
6. Allow dash attack to cancel on hit earlier and increase the active frames of the projectile shield

Honestly, these changes would probably make Jason a viable mid tier

He’d still be slow and combo food, but people would have to respect rage way more and he wouldn’t just randomly get hit for sticking his hand out slightly

The big changes being #1 and #3

Like currently, Arya, Wonder Woman, Finn, Taz, Marvin, and T&J don’t need to respect rage even without any armor break perks

And then every character just doesn’t care about rage with armor killer

Can confirm lol fought a Taz last night without armor break and he still shattered my fully charged grey health constantly, I basically had to stop using it as it was just creating openings for him... followed up by a double Jack mu where they both spammed dash attack endlessly... my friend was like, "sorry bro, I can't do this." and got offline lol... It was one of the rougher runs we've had in casual and he tilts easily

I honestly think Jack seems fun, but I refuse to play him while he's so prevalent, it just feels dirty lol... no shame if anyone is into that, but I can't consciously contribute to the dash spam... I'm not even sure it needs much of a nerf, it's just annoying as hell when it's like almost every single match... I think we had two or three matches with no Jack and then after that he was in every match we had, at least one of the players if not both.

I mean, I think your point gain/loss is slightly different based on what rank you’re opponent is at

But your current rank is what really affects the point distribution

In bronze, you don’t lose any points for a loss

And you always gain like 20-25

In gold, you gain like 10-15 and lose like 3-10

Idk why the game doesn’t show what your opponent’s rank is sometimes. I’ve heard rumors that it’s because they’re currently bronze/silver rank but I can’t confirm that myself

I will say as long as you can keep a 30% win rate or better, you should easily be able to reach gold rank with enough playtime

Might be a bit more rough because Jason kinda sucks, but you’ll get there eventually

You need about a 40-50% win rate minimum for platinum, about a 60% win rate for diamond, and like a 70% win rate for masters

But these are super rough approximations

And really there’s a ton of factors besides win rate that determine how many points you gain/lose for each match

Like I’m in diamond 5 with Shaggy and my most recent win only got me 5 RP and a loss is like 13

But then I’ve heard the top Arya in masters 1 still gains like 15 and only loses like 4

So idk how the RP system works

Played ranked for about ten minutes to see what it was like, won a couple times, then tried ffa some with Jason (usually play with Stripe) and won twice in a row… then proceeded to immediately log off lol… it was the perfect way to end the play session and staying on longer felt like begging for a loss
