Play ig as intended and he is slow, clunky, unfun.

Playbwith infinites and some of the pace and path rework, but fun is still lost.

He's not fun to play because he's a punching bag many times,but then any reward he gets for this punishment is being needed.

Designers up top need to redo his intended gameplay, that's the issue.

He's a mismatch of multiple archetypes but the parts that work work so well they show the problems with his.

It’s a bug where characters that use grabs sometimes fuse the other characters into them. Since Jason has a lot of grabs it’s been frequent for him to absorb other characters (especially Velma)

so combos still work while your moves are decayed

It does actually change hitstun, but just not nearly to the degree as the beta. The best personal example I can give is that back before v1.02, Shaggy could do jab jab dair but only if his jab was unstaled. If you used jab even once within the last 7 moves, the confirm was no longer true

I don’t think there’s any Jason confirms that are close to frame tight so that staling a particular move would make the confirm no longer true

as far as i'm aware jason has never needed to parry to escape some setups

its just a nice thing to do because you get to reverse many situations into an instant kill

rather than just dodging out of it

which makes me really dislike the parry change even more

it wasn't broken because if you just read the opponents parry they'd die for it as well

its just removing a level of high level gameplay for no reason

afaik other platform fighters also don't have the same defensive mechanics as this game as well

which also just means they're removing a unique aspect of the gameplay and making the game by definition less interesting
