Really just gotta stop using your abilities and try and push him out of the bubble and take it for yourself

Once you have it you can up special from the ground and your ship missiles will be coming from inside the bubble so they’ll be able to go out

Most of the time, I just improvise. I use a bit of everything, but I do enjoy spikes. Dair is very good for spikes. Same for jab 3 (projectile) on a flagged enemy on the edge or with a reversed jab 3 (from neutral special).

Marvin is defenseless to protect the ship in many cases. One WW side air does the trick

I don’t even factor using the ship to kill, it’s either part of the ladder or it’s to try and condition an option

If the rocket actually gets someone, it’s an unexpected bonus

Rocket is the strongest kill option for sure and is a great reward if you can confirm them into it, but it’s hard on smarter and patient opponents

Who might just straight up avoid you while it’s alive

The best kill option imo is air side b, it kills late but so do most of his moves honestly, and it’s probably Marvin’s best move in general

I feel like I get pretty good kill potential with down attack (zapgun). I even use the air platform to get a sneaky horizontal one while airborne that throws people off occasionally and kills close to the edge

Neutral Special and Neutral Attack have to be held to trigger the cool down version. This allows for these moves to be used in neutral/combos without wasting a cooldown.

• Air Down Special (Flag) is armored.
• Redirecting Marvin's projectiles causes them to regain their hurtbox (must dodge again)
• Up Special must be held to trigger cooldown version (spaceship). This allows for use in recovery/neutral without needing to waste it. Does horn attack if tapped like what he automatically does while it's on cooldown

I'm fine with the ufo being destroyable. If ppl decides to attack the ufo, it gives you the option to punish them with things up close.

If it was immune, you wouldnt have that option and they would be more focused on making an easy rocket dodge instead.

Having cooldown refund would make marvin pretty obnoxious. There would be a lot of complaints that marvin's so annoying because of how often the ufo spawns even though they punished him by destroying it.

It could certainly use a tiny bit of tankiness though, not a lot.

How hard is it to play Marvin because I’m trying to look for a main in multiversus and I wanted to know if Marvin was easy or not and if he can be played aggressively

He definitely can be played aggressively. It's not too hard to play him, but the main thing to work on is making good decisions on when to set up with projectiles vs when to use more melee attacks, as well as using the right attacks for the right circumstances. You'll need to learn matchups and what tools do well in what matchups.

I get a ton of kos from setups

Harassing enemy with staggers and bubbles then plant flag at an opportune moment, call ufo and head to the opposite side of the ufo from them, I bubble the rocket when it comes at me, now they have to worry about that homing on them if they are flagged, or button shenanigans. A lot of times I'm able to predict them running, get ahead of them and trumpet them upwards, if they are flagged they are in trouble. You just gotta get kinda a feel for what height you can ko and what %dmg your knockbacks can be lethal.

I've kod people off the top zone with that from 30%

Repetition and conditioning the opponent is key for setup play

You need to know what their reaction patterns are first.

Then you can either execute your plan, or repeatedly show them a version of the setup with no teeth. This conditions them into feeling safe. Then they accept the setup rather than resist it.

If you jump then use button after the jabs, it combos. The second kick sends the enemy upwards a bit which is why button is tricky to hit while on the ground still.
Jab 1 then button is a combo I believe

It should charge faster, it's very slow right now. In the beta I liked to plant it on the UFO as a trap. It's waaaay to slow to work consistently now

And since the flag size never changed, the larger characters essentially make the flag smaller. Same charge time for less radius
