I still think this game has it's uniqueness in its characters (their kits), the wall (even if that's from rivals) and especially dodging since every other plat fighter makes air dodging really slow

They really need to not do this, and they need to make it so that Stevens shield doesn't absorb projectiles too

I dislike shields too, I really think that movement should be what dictates defensive gameplay (not just walking back and forth), but if that's what needs to be done to actually make offensive options fast and good and have the ability to combo than I'm for that. But again they could do the same thing by just making movement and plats better

According to their track record of releasing it seems they don’t extend too much thought into how new mechanics may consequently affect certain characters but rather focus on fixing the underlying problem in which case here would be having a consistent reliable defense tool like block to defend various attacks

4. NB dtilt into up air can sometimes kill from like 70 onwards on DI in but it's kinda janky
