how they can fix/refresh jack (pls pfg):
Make jab 2 pull in instead of pushing out. This can make up tilt combos more consistent. Buff the damage on this move as well
Uptilt: scoops in better so it doesn’t whiff on smaller characters like gizmo and finn. Make the second hit consistently ground bounce better so you lead it into tech situations, but don’t overdo it so you can still di it at lower percents. Also buff the damage a bit
Focus: Focus is kinda bad. It’s Jack’s whole gimmick and it’s not even good.
- Focus side special should have invincibility when you hit the move meaning you can’t be hit out of the move. To slightly nerf it, The opponent is placed in the middle of jack’s slashes unable to be hit out of the move and frozen in place until the last slash knocks them back. Since they’re placed in the middle, the kill power gets nerfed but it buffs its combo potential.
- Focus Air Down Special. This move should throw out the projectile even if your in the air and deal higher knockback . This makes the move kill easier while making it more useful offstage when you have focus.
Grab: Grab has been nerfed in this patch. I feel like the move needs a complete rework. How i’d rework the move is that jack can change the direction of where he wants to throw you. It can be up, down, left, or foward. If you input the move different from foward at all, the move gets put on a 15 second cooldown but you can still grab however you cannot change the direction at all until the 15 seconds is up. This can open up more mixups, combos, and edge guarding for jack.
Also bring back the armor when you grab someone/projectile even if you’re not in focus.
Counter: Counter is a really bad move, In my opinion most of the counters in this game need a rework but if not, they could make counter work similarly to jokers. Where if you aren’t close, it won’t do the elbow but if you are, it does the attack way quicker which you can combo into jab. I think to balance it out, it takes 2 bars of meter.
Up special : This is really a nitpick but at higher percents, you can combo up special easier leading to vertical KO’s
Grounded Down Special (rivers flurry)
Make the hitbox connect better for the start of down b so you can connect it more effectively
Down tilt: Make it do slightly more damage and kill earlier.
Netural Attack: Make the beetle come out a bit faster while slightly buffing the damage alongside it
Look i get it… Most of the mvs community feels that jack is fine is where he is but i completely disagree. Samurai Jack has no true combo routes like most characters. Up tilt doesn’t hit smaller characters at all and is very easy to di at mid percents (I can understand at low percents it being di able but it’s kinda unacceptable that even with mid percents he can’t do much) Jack also has lack luster killer power. You can say he has focus but half the time it doesn’t work for you. Focus side special is completely read based now and even if you get a read it’s not guaranteed you get the full 3 hits. Either they hit you out of the move when you hit it or they simply walk out of it. His Combo routes are also lack luster. Up tilt doesn’t scoop up smaller characters and it can be di able at mid percents. The reason why i made this concept is because i feel like that Jack should be able to have good low to mid percentage combos and good kill power. I feel like these changes can make Jack a much stronger character and yeah i get it… He is easy to use but keep in mind. Jack is a big body with a light weight. He is combo food and dies early. He’s a glass cannon with no cannon ball. His damage output is also kinda mid and very matchup dependent. I also feel like some of Jacks nerfs should be reverted cause i feel like he got gutted.
