I need help diagnosing some network issues I've had since the patch came out. The game has been in an unplayable state for me, connection wise. Everything is so laggy I get heavy rollback

I main arya, and i want to talk about her up special, the best part of her kit imo, has been nerfed/bugged to the grond, it was an amazing consistent combo starter, extender, recovery move, amazing, but now, is inconsistent, and my go-to finisher combo used it twice, but now, with it's inconsistency, i can barely connect into up air, which was a very important connection, i honestly hope its fixed, the game is amazing, but this one move has me enjoying less the game

There's no issue. That's how hitboxes work in many fighting games. Fox's neutral air also hits in a sphere around him, same with Ryu's medium kick in the air, which is often used for crossups (to hit behind him while jumping over an opponent).

If hitboxes perfectly matched their animations, the game would not function

I use the right stick to attack, and very often I hole the same direction on both sticks to use an attack in the direction I want, but it goes the other way. Also the game is super laggy every single match

It's the C-Stick bug. It's been acknowledged by Tony and apparently they're fixing it but it's unbelievable and glaring that they still haven't fixed it yet considering it is, quite literally, a game breaking bug for C-Stick users. Me and my duo dropped the game until they release the hotfix they've promised.

Make mastery levels for characters go up to tier 25
Would be both an interesting way to make people invest both more into characters and the game as a whole.
Rewards along this path can be things like gold, toasts, and possibly even some gleamium on the latter end.
At the 20 mark you can add a Banner themed around the character you leveled.
At the 25 mark you can add a skin of some kind. Something more simplistic without custom animations would do like a Chuck Jones artstyle Tom and Jerry or a hatless Finn.

I haven't had as many servers issues tonight but my matches on the other hand have just been terrible. I hope eventually Teams and Solo Queuing can be separated for 2v2. Majority of my matches tonight have been against teams and I don't know how the heck the mmr is calculated but it's definitely being manipulated by some players who are much higher getting put against lower solos.

I want to enjoy this game but when match after match is just either a stompfest or you feel like you have no backup it just kills the mood entirely to want to play.

Ever notice that in between matches the seasonal milestones don't cycle out? It's not game-breaking but I just discovered more seasonal milestone missions when I was checking my battle pass progress.... When I do daily missions they clear out as I do them, but the seasonal milestones are stuck on page 1 so I have to manually check outside of match making in order to see my progress on the other missions

I can't play this game, not on my main account at least. I see nothing but Harley Quinn and Superman. Yeah, I beat them but there's no character diversity or enjoyment from it. I don't think any armor break has cooldown, I did initially think that was the case with Arya because I just got caught up with her attack by default was the dagger and then you get the spin which is the armor break.
a cooldown on armor might not be a bad thing for certain characters like Superman who has like half his attacks with armor, it doesn't have to be long like 1 or 2 seconds

Current state of the game + questions:
Many characters are in their own class mainly because they go unbalanced (infinite combos) or unfixed or in Finns case borderline balanced then reverted and left unfixed while "fixing" most of other characters.

Superman and small number of others have been nerfed to the ground as well as increasing their whiff recoveries and "fixed" their hit boxes. My question is based on what do you decide, who and how much someone gets nerfed?

I cant believe i have to say this but having favorites among a dev team is not good, and should not be allowed since it leads to this state of the game.

Garnet is way to slow.
She can’t realistically fight a lot of the cast because she quite literally cannot get a move out. Most top characters have a frame 2-3 arial they can use to get out of a juggle or combo but garnet has 2 charge moves and her fair and uair come out so late, feels like frame 6 or 7 it’s so slow considering how fast the game is moving. It almost looks like she’s half the speed she’s supposed to be tbh it’s almost unplayable she can’t possibly react to someone or something when everything moves faster than most of her moves’ startup lag

I agree with you to an extent, she is more of a reactionary character than hqs or Finn’s but this kinda just rounds back to the original issue, she’s too slow to be so reliant on whiff punishes. She can obviously handle a missed charge attack or kill move with good end lag but for example even characters who rely less on punishing can still catch people out for being spaced badly or people who are just spamming low lag normals, whereas she just either has to sit back or eat them with little or no methods to engage afterwards depending on Matchup

I love that game but one thing i have to say: pls change it that you can with the controller press only X to choose the charakter (xbox controller on pc). Till now you have to go with the stick on the charakter and than pressing X, also when you played this charakter last round. Allow garnet to also pull her teammates to her with marker by holding the button instead of just pressing it

Hold button for garnet to tug on the tether having your teammate fly back to you knocking away any players hit by it (only garnets will do the grab)
if no teammates are connected to the star than have the star comeback to garnet stunning and pulling players into her where she will then do the grab she does normally or possibly a new variation of the animation (garnet will be suspended in the air while this happens) (mainly for 1v1 situations) (i still think she should toss into the opposite direction)

You know since we're nerfing Arya to keep her up special from being too easy and a guaranteed kill how about we nerf Finn's down normal? That move is beyond broken and its incredibly annoying. No matter when or where you get hit from it the move spikes you guaranteeing Finn a free easy cheap or whatever else we want to list it as. Its one of if not the cheapest kill you can get in this game and its infuriating with the hypocrisy given how we nerf everything else that is cheap op or unfair/unfun to play against.

Change it somehow I'm so tired of dying at 20 because of that move. Finn got buffed and now people are playing him again and its so braindead the dude legit only ever got a kill or got a hit when he was using the move. If this was 1v1's it'd be very different you could easily say skill issue but in 2v2's this isn't just a skill issue. The range on it feels ridiculous and you can almost never beat the move out and again for a move that is going to 100% SPIKE AND KILL YOU FOR FREE It should not have high priority and range. I'm sick of Finn and I love Adventure Time. The time we've had with him being nerfed and not played because they couldn't just spam that move and backback and win was great now that he's being played again just increases how annoying this game can be. Change that move for the love of god just give him a new move or change the knockback on it because guaranteed spike on a not angled attack or down air is insanely braindead. Stage design wise the small ones are fine, the issue usually comes down to some characters just break those stages, Velma on Trophys Edge 2 is really dumb as the car jumps and you are off the ledge for instance. It really is. I noticed that Jerry was dying way more and I'm not a fan of that either but fortunately they're reversing that. I don't like the armored attacks simply because the armor attacks aren't made equally. Tom and Jerry has a nice ranged one but its the least used move in my gameplay by a longshot and I imagine its the same way for most people that play them. Though in the case of playing Bugs Bunny no Superman is gonna let me get close enough to land and then do my armor breaking attack. Its not reliable or realistic in 2v2 nor 1v1 for some characters to use an armor breaking attack as a counter method. Projectiles are the real armor breaking attacks and I think that system should get overhauled at some point unless they wanted to straight up nerf armor. Assuming they ever even dare touch it

I'd suggest having more regular map additions to the game. The last community challenge and map addition was at the end of July, it's the middle of September and we're still sitting at 6 stages. It's a poultry amount to have for 2 whole months of game time and even adding three stages for this season would honestly make things far more varied. Character additions are great, of course, but the longevity of the game really depends on more locations to fight in being added.

And a couple maps not designed purely for competitive are fine! Create some more goofy and off-the-wall stages, like Poke-Floats in Smash. It adds even more personality to a game already chock full of it.

I play a lot. Finn's player population is down after his first nerf so I've not dough a ton since that but I have a general idea of how to deal with the characters but him with that move is just too much. It doesn't have to be charged so when I'm trying to recover he can miss or I can dodge. The only way I'm getting up is of a teammate knocks him away or I do a dodge and cancel with a jump but even then the move reaches so far that it still catches a lot of the time.

But I hate playing against Superman, Finn, and Shaggy's when they have good teammates. The rest are fine I think.

wifi introduces a whole slew of issues like multipath, signal drops and signal confusion that make playing fighting games a nightmare. Other fighting games like MKX and Tekken 7 let you avoid matching with wireless users, and every tournament for every fighting game I've ever played has either required proof of a wired connection, or reserves the right to have an admin request proof of wired connection at any time.

And, really, most people DO do it out of choice. Ethernet cable is dirt cheap and easy to run, there's no real excuse other than just not wanting to bother with it- which is fair, but the game is better for everyone when connections are good, so people who take the time to make sure their connection is as good as possible should have the option to match with people who feel the same way.

I want to stress that this isn't a new idea, lots of other fighting games do something similar and it has been very successful.

His jab is stupid and I wish it didn't go on until they let go holding me into it until I got to the edge of it and then they finish with the punch. Its so annoying because lots of them spam that if they aren't spamming the flying grab or lasers. Then on top of him being the best spam character in the game he gets a ridiculous dodge range. I absolutely hate everything about Superman he's annoying at every angle possible

Iron Giant just shouldn't be here in my opinion. His size alone makes for some bad feeling gameplay on the small maps to me but I feel like he'll never be fair. Always either too good or too weak

That's the best stage for getting combo'd on and not being able to do anything about it. Also just had some people lose then switch to Arya and Finn and absolutely dominate because they just wouldn't die and the Finn spammed his down attack near the edge and I just can't help think. Well that's true I guess. Though that move in particular is a hated one for me. His other moves I feel are fine. Yeah backpack is wack at times but I think its a respectable move now. Superman by far is the worst offender to me on having a bs moveset. Like Finn though Shaggy has the one move that's ridiculous. I want to punish people for spamming but the game just doesn't allow it unless I'm using projectiles for a lot of these characters

Shaggy's side special has priority the full run of the move I try to hit him as his legs are coming down and he's not kicking anymore I get hit and same for if I jump over the kick and go for his upper body or head and I still get knocked back and its wack..Might be addressed in the hitbox part 2 i hope

My issue is probably really expecting this game to play like an actual fighting game and it just doesn't. Which is what makes me mad about it

Is it intentional that attack properties are inconsistent among the cast? For instance, Iron Giant can't do a retreating side aerial attack (hold one direction to move, press right stick in opposite direction - Iron Giant will attack in the direction he's moving, everyone else will attack in the direction of the right stick input). There's also a bunch of aerial attacks you can't fast fall during even though it's supposed to be universal.
