No, Nintendo doesn't care when it comes to what characters cameo in what games.

Ryu and Sonic have appeared in countless other games, so why show animosity to Sonic here?

Furthermore, Nintendo doesn't care about Smash-esque games competing with them. Any reaction to them is likely a large "Meh." on their end.

New Line Cinema was behind The Mask as well as Lord of the Rings, and they merged with WB, and at this point LOTR is so publicly known as a Warner Bros tentpole franchise that anything under NLC is theirs

So Mask is definitely eligible
