depending on game, you can get to high ranks by just spamming the most stupid moves, because there are a lot of people being rather bad. I remember playing MK11 KL, going up against a player 2 ranks above me on a rather high rank...and they used the most obvious stuff repeatedly, that could get easily punished. They then went ahead and ragequit
