To be perfectly honest, this game was the sequel. The "original" game was the beta that was treated like a full game (by many fans) and this official release was what was supposed to fix all the problems. There's no chance at anything more under this IP at this point

Depressing to see the game shut down. Rather than talk about the game's shortcomings I highly recommend people to instead be requesting all assets regardless of playability to be included in game files before final shutdown. There's definitely a huge amount of cut content and we won't get another game like this probably ever. For a lot of people that invested money into this game to have it taken down I view that as the better moral choice on both ends respect wise. 🙏

I feel like this game was just a story of many mistakes, beta was great, me and my friend were some of the last players before that shut down, in return I didn't prefer the new changes and was disappointed by the lack of new character, my friend never got back into it because he hated the changes. I kept playing a bit but it felt like playing a bad mobile game, it always had some other bug and terrible progression before I stopped. This is really disappointing to hear it's shutting down, at one point this was in my favorite games before they tanked the original players, punished the new players, and continued to try and clone smash.

I think people exaggerate the problems with Multiversus, and that exaggeration spread and became an internet meme of "game super bad"

There are things I would've wished they'd done better. Not locking most of the roster from new players, being the biggest. I would've liked more ways to earn all rewards, or just have had them be cheaper. Gleamium that's earnable through just playing a lot, randomly, even if in small amounts. Rifts needed some polishing. More missions routinely, so it always would feel like you're progressing in multiple areas, even if it didn't have gigantic rewards. And maybe the assurance that each season would introduce a character from a new IP, so none had two extra add-ons from franchises already in.
