I agree with this on some level but I also think that this game pretty heavily feeds on FOMO. Like, there's no reason why you shouldn't be told that the bundle shop items will be available to purchase separately after the bundle is gone -- same with the battle pass.

You'll have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the game had fixed missions for battle pass season quests, right? It's also pretty scuff that the game doesn't tell you that event/weekly missions can compile until after you find out yourself by missing a day that they can. Keep in mind, the level signaled is not the recommended, it's the minimum recommended.

They literally don't let you try them until you have gems of those levels unlocked.

The AI is more aggressive, will deal more damage and take less at the same difficulties as rifts 4 and 5

and they say a range of percentage because it depends on more then their health and what move they get hit by
like if they hit a wall and bounce, if the move was charged up, hit by a sweetspot
and if you are on the left side of the map but get sent to the right side, most likely you wont die only if your health is insanely high

He has some fun combos that are not as straight forward as some other characters'
Going against him it's fun to exploit the lack of his range and very limited angles he can start combos off of

I mainly played in 2v2 with people from the discord though which helped fly through some of them and it helped me with the crates a ton because I got the "bring a friend" star typically. I went through and knocked out the last 3 or 4 rifts that I didn't have every crate for. Now I have them all.

If you're able to get your star meter up, you'll be fine.
The only mandatory nodes to worry about are the 2v2s, namely Shaggy/Banana Guard.
That one can give you trouble.

Also, take advantage of the armature gem when you have a partner, it helps with knockouts.

some of the nodes are harder in techno insanity. i cleared mine with Taz.
took me a couple tries to figure out harley, the computer, shaggy/BG and samurai batman/shaggy.
otherwise not too difficult.

Just use Shaggy if you can, the AI won't touch you if you're charging off-stage.
They did that to prevent you from cheesing with Steven's shield, but in doing so they enabled a more accessible cheese strat.

If you main a non-animated character you either have to play someone you otherwise wouldn't or buy the Tooniverse variant.
Forcing to play an animated character wouldn't even be an issue if you could use PvE, forcing it in PvP has a direct impact on other players too.

• I have Bugs and Wonder Woman, but only play them when I have to
• Taz, Arya, Finn, Jake, Velma and Gizmo are characters I don't see myself using and I'm glad rift 6 only needed a single Shark week character with no extra caveats

The current rift cheese meta is Shaggy charging offstage, the Ai will not touch you there.
So all you need to do is alternate between charged specials and you're good

Honestly, it's not that bad if you're a regular right now.
It helps that you can playtest fighters in training before buying them with currency.

It's not bad at all
The progression and currency system they are going for is muuuch more generous than any other PAID live service games
And it's not even close

People who have problem with it dont come from those kinds of game, but from smash and mk and whatnot, where it works differently so they are not used to it

My favourite story about live service monetisation comes from DBZ Dokkan Battle.
It's a gacha game, so it's already worse than MVS monetisation-wise, but then the global version's first year anniversary comes around.
Not only did they powercreep the hell out of the game, they lowered the odds of pulling the new units while the banner was active.
Because remember folks: If you think MVS is bad, Gacha has done it all before and worse.

getting your characters to level 5
current event gives you 600, doing the battlepass and the rift gives some the first time you complete it

Adding to this, some easy rift nodes give you 10 Fighter currency on completion.
Fighter levels give you up to 600 per character, split between 100, 200 and 300 at levels 5, 10 and 14.
The Agent Smith event gives up to 3000 fighter currency, but not all of it is immediately accessible right now.
The battle pass gives fighter currency at various levels, with a chance at 50 per level once you're past level 70.
Toasts also give you 5 currency per toast, but don't bank on this for immediate currency.

Do you know the Shaggy charging strat? You can charge offstage and the AI won't touch you.
Try doing that, hit with a charged special, then repeat. If you do it right, you should get by for that node and the later LeBron/Marvin node
