Perks were pretty bad for the game in the beta because, at least from a 2s perspective, you were horribly throwing if you didn't double stack both triple jump and taz trig, and a lot of random players just didn't get it

The issue in the beta was that two perks were stupid powerful but a lot of the perks were obviously near worthless. Conditional 5% extra damage is a trash perk when "jump an extra time" was game changingly strong.

I have every doable rift cleared so far. They're really easy if you have a good teammate to do them with.

The way they're tuned is kinda funny. They're really brutal and you can't get enough gem levels if you try to solo stuff. If you do them with a teammate, almost every challenge is super easy, and you have such a margin of error on the points for gems that the leveling is mostly okay.

I do think unlocking Looney will be a problem if you don't get good RNG; level 9 on gems is a really high level just to be allowed in

Like my digital gems are 8-9-9, and I'm just praying one of the various super tiny sources gets that last gem just barely over the hump in the next few weeks (I do have two easy mode cauldrons left to pick up; those are small but maybe enough?)

While I see T&J as stronger overall, it's kinda hard to imagine many players are really picking between them. They're extremely different characters.

T&J is a really high end zoner; Arya is ms. combo

Arya is also a relatively rare character online

So I think a lot of us who don't use her have just less experience seeing the various things she can do

i can only tell you about arya and what her gameplan is, as i main her
but from seeing tom and jerrys you create a bullethell for the enemy from afar and manipulate projectiles so you can get in safely for melee range
with arya you need to look for openings and she is combo heavy. you really need to feel out and experience her hitboxes and what she can and cannot do and the tiny tricks you can do
but arya is much much much better for 1s than for 2s

I don't remember hearing this, but if it's true it's reasonable that they could've made this rift before making that decision and figured it was better worth their time trying to work on patches & bugfixes rather than rebalancing this rift. Like I said, TBM. After seeing the minigame I immediately got excited about a new mode and quickly was like "dang". Similar to how the gold hoarding could be turned into the classic coin mode from Smash. Hoarding would be great for a FFA mode, and if they made the Volleyball better that could be a fun 2v2 party mode.

MVS is lacking in the casual pvp modes, I still don't know why FFA is gone

MultiVersus is a very multiplayer heavy game hence the online, plus you can do the stuff without a player (just more work and consider it an extra easy addition when you can play with someone else imo)

I get that, but you can have serious and fun modes. SMITE is a great example of that. They put the serious PVP side up front, but since launch they had a handful of fun side modes. I enjoy the game and these complaints are all things I'd like to see addressed, not reasons I hate the game or anything like that.

I would love to agree, but seeing all the microtransaction BS with Gems and Rifts, I'm afraid there will be more worried about nickel and diming the players over giving new and excited avenues of play. Technically you could have 1 extra is you somehow got through the glitched insanity mode with paid lives but I doubt anyone actually completed it — I only knew of myself and a handful of others who got to a level to even try it

If you somehow did it & everything currently avail would put you on the actual page to unlock smith- having unlocked the first tier on that page if it remembering this off top correctly lol

Someone was able to get smith via other means and yeah he’s not finished. He reuses some animations from other characters
