Hacking is not what you think. It isn't the "oh lets type really fast on a green neon terminal". It involves a lot of stuff. Real life hacking is not like that. When I did my hacking projects for my thesis, it was more "oh lets bait the victim into clicking this link and gain access" not really "oh lets break into a bank, hack its computers and boom money" (I don't use my hacking for personal gain or financial gain, it is strictly for research purposes).

While downloading scripts from the internet is different, it is still considered hacking. You are feeding false information into the system. Thus server manipulation. Hacking games is "reverse engineering", while server hacking is more "exploiting". It is however still considered to be "hacking", though it is a different type of hack.

It is still considered to be hacking, more specifically, Trojan horse hack. You are downloading a virus (by definition something that isn't supposed to be there by design). You are then implementing the virus into the game code, which then changes how you perceive things, thus "hacking" the system.
