**Bodycam project announcement**

Hi everyone!

Reissad Studio is proud to announce its latest multiplayer FPS game project called Bodycam!

While we don't have an official date to announce yet, we would be grateful if you take some time to wishlist the game on our Steam page.

What's going on with Bodycam?

Hi everyone! As you all know, we announced Bodycam's release date for the end of September, and now being the 28th makes you all wonder: what's going on right now?

To be as transparent as possible, because of the team's age (20 & 17 years old) we had some troubles and slowdowns regarding the financial side of the project (such as creating and registering a business bank account).

We still need to activate it and get a positive answer from Steam, since all those changes have to be verified before being able to publish Bodycam.

That means, and we know that some people will be sad about it, that Bodycam's release date is now postponed for a short time. Just to be clear, the development is going very well and we are already ready to deliver the game, but the financial & professionnal side of the project is what keeps us from releasing the game.

We don't exactly know how long it will take Steam to verify everything, but as soon as everything is ready we will announce an official release date, no matter what happens.

Dear Bodycam community,

First of all, we would like to thank you all for the numerous supporting and encouraging messages we have received on our various networks. You guys are incredible!
We wanted to provide you some clarification on the current state of the game, and more generally its release.

Bodycam was originally a very small project, but following the colossal enthusiasm around it, we had to reconsider a lot of things (content, gameplay, sound quality, game modes, etc).

All problems related to administrative papers and Steam release are resolved, so this no longer worries us. We would have liked to release the game in early access, but we aren't able to submit an early-access version because Bodycam is already listed as a published game (while still being private and unaccessible to the public) on the Steam marketplace, which makes it impossible to backtrack and set its status as an early-access game.

However, we've made a lot of gameplay changes lately that have led to a longer testing phase. Many fixes have been made to make the game as realistic and consistent as possible.
While conducting these testing phases, we detected a few bugs which have already been fixed to this date.

To give you some concrete examples, we have reworked the sounds effects, the movement system, some animations and all those little details that make a game pleasant to play and stick as closely as possible to reality. We are working very hard and very late at night to meet your expectations.

Before giving you a specific date, we must arrange with our partners and influencers to organize the release, so that everything goes smoothly.

You may have had the impression that not everything was transparent from our side. We do apologize for this. The main reason is our lack of time and resources. We regret this and will try to communicate more with you as the projects goes on.

If you want to get every updates we share about Bodycam, be sure to follow us on our social networks. Please feel free to comment and give constructive feedback as well as giving us ideas for medias you would like to see.

We know you that want to have Bodycam in your hands, but don't forget that we are a small independent studio, and that we have neither the human nor financial resources to release the game as easily and quickly as a AAA studio. We are doing our best to meet the game's release deadline but we sadly cannot guarantee anything. There are also many things that do not depend on us, and we hope's it's understandable enough.

Keep in mind that we want to release an indie game of the highest quality possible, while respecting what is possible for our structure.

Right now, giving us energy and support while we are working on the end phase of the game's development is the best thing you can do.

Hello everyone, we are back with some updates!

We have made significant development progresses and are eager to show more about the game in the coming days! Through multiple playtests, we have been able to make changes to the gameplay, achieving something more realistic and even closer to what we envisioned. Beyond the various changes, additions, balancing and gameplay adjustments, we have also worked on major quality of life improvements, added maps, and many other things that you will have the opportunity to discover in due time.

We are continuously preparing the release of the game which is getting closer and closer, and want to let you know that the delay added from September is due to the unexpected hype around the project on Steam, and also us being contacted by multiple partners willing to accompany us in this journey to get the best out of our game.

We also are pleased to welcome new members in our team, helping us polishing and developing the game for a better experience and product quality. Hi everyone, we have some new weekly updates to share!

We've added new sounds and reworked the older ones to make them much more faithful to reality and enhance immersion to its best potential. Regarding gameplay, we've started looking into a rework of suppression effects as well as the visual and auditory sensations that players can experience when hit.

To continue aligning with our ambitions and the game's expectations, we've also modified existing maps to make them even more balanced and immersive.

Finally, we are constantly patching, fixing and gameplay balancing.

Hello everyone, we're back with some updates!

This week, our animation team has been hard at work, thanks to @ashen dew for their dedication.

We've also focused our efforts on the lobby and user experience, adding a touch of role-playing to the lobby to make the overall experience even more immersive.

We've introduced new interactions with objects and lights on the maps, transforming the gaming experience as you navigate through different scenarios.

And the exciting news! We're about to organize a game** playtest day** to evaluate our network infrastructures. Get ready, and make sure to activate the <@&1144063119778394223> role (which can be obtained in #🎭┆roles) to not miss the official playtest announcement! We will share more information about that specifically in the coming days.

Hi everyone, the team is back with some updates!

Now that the playtest session is coming soon, we wanted to let you guys choose something pretty important: the map you will all be able to play on.

We are organizing a vote so that everyone can select a favorite map amongst the three shown in the video down below. Once decided, you can vote by adding a reaction to the message, going with the following order:

  • 1️⃣ : Wornhouse
  • 2️⃣ : Airsoft House
  • 3️⃣ : Abandoned Hospital

We are still internally deciding over how the playtest session will unfold. You'll get confirmed information in the next weekly update, which should be announcing the full details and opening of the testing session if we are fully ready to deliver it.

Please note that although we want a lot of people to be able to experience Bodycam and give us feedback, the session will have limited slots.

Hey everyone, here's your weekly dose of information!

First of all, sorry for that one-day delay, the team is getting busy in those times.
Development is going better than ever as we're currently on new systems, one of them being artificial intelligence. 👀

The playtest preparation is also nicely coming along as we are currently fixing important bugs regarding player connection and joinability related to servers.

As for the big news: we are back again with a new vote!
As you probably already know as it was showcased on our social media, players are able to select certain patches to better customize their appearance.

We are offering the choice to choose the exclusive patch that will be given to the lucky playtesters. This patch will only be granted during playtest sessions.

Now it's your turn to choose among the four patches:

  • 1️⃣ : [BETA] - aka "Beta Version".
  • 2️⃣ : [OG] - aka "Old School Player".
  • 3️⃣ : [EP] - aka "Early Player".

Hi everyone, we're back with some news!

First and foremost, the team wishes everyone a happy new year! We hope your year is off to an awesome start. Now that the year-end events are wrapped up, we've returned to game development for the past few days and are thrilled to start again our weekly updates.

The development of the playtest version is progressing smoothly, but we're not fully ready to announce a date just yet. Our goal is to ensure that once we announce a date, we're 100% sure we can deliver the playtest on time.

As a compensation, we've decided to add a second map for the playtest, named "Russian Building". Some of you might remember it as the very first map we used when we started working on the project, and it has now been heavily modified over the time, so we're excited to see your feedback on it.

Once again, we're grateful for everyone's support and patience. Expect more communication from us next week, and hopefully, we'll have even more exciting news to share.

Hi everyone, it's finally time for the big news!

Playtest announcements

We are glad to announce two different events that will take place over the coming week:

1️⃣ Stress-test debug phase, taking place today, on January 14, in 2 hours (<t:1705237200:R>).

  • This phase is open to everyone wishing to participate and will be going on for 12 hours after opening, meaning until January 15 at 2am (UTC+1 › <t:1705280400:R>).
  • The main purpose of this phase is for our team to check if everything is fine server-side (regarding player connecting/joining each other, leaving servers and joining other ones, etc). To make it simple, this is a test to see if we are fully ready to deploy the playtest phase.
  • For this phase, the Steam system will randomly accept people between the registered access requests.

2️⃣ Playtest #1 phase, taking place on January 21st (<t:1705791600:R>).

  • This phase is also open to everyone wishing to participate and will be going on for 24 hours after opening, meaning until January 22nd at midnight (<t:1705878000:R>).
  • The main purpose of this phase is for our team to receive as much feedback from the players as possible to know what to fix and improve. If encounter any bug or want to give us any feedback, please make sure to read further to see how to report that to us.
  • We will communicate the number of people accepted for the playtest phase later this week, so stay tuned.

Our answers to your potential questions

➡️ How do I participate in the stress-test debug and/or playtest phase?

  • On Bodycam's Steam page you will see a new banner saying "Play the Bodycam Playtest now!", with a green "Play Now" button (refer to the screenshot).

Clicking on it will send a request to be accepted. We will use Steam's system which will randomly select a number of people to accept. Please note that we don't have any control over the random selection system.
Please note that once the stress-test debug phase begins, we will be removing the request access button for the duration of that first phase. Do not worry, as we will enable it back on January 15 at 2am (UTC+1 › <t:1705280400:R>).

➡️ What will I be able to discover?

Hi everyone!

We have some great **news **to share with you today! Thanks to your valuable feedback during the playtest session, most of the issues encountered by players have now been fixed.

We are excited to present our roadmap for 2024, starting with the release of Bodycam in early access.

Since Q2 is already well underway and ends in late June, it isn't as packed as the other periods. However, this will give you an **idea **of the **direction **we're heading and the points we're revealing today.

At the start of each quarter, we will launch community requests, allowing you to vote for the best ideas to be integrated into the game. These ideas will come from the #1100168391844700170 channel where everyone can create suggestions and **vote **for their favorites.

It's important to note that this roadmap is not set in stone, and we will likely add new features based on our progress. This roadmap was determined as if we continued to work as a team of two, but with ongoing recruitment, the roadmap will expand in the future!

You can soon find more detailed points on our website: reissad.com/roadmap. We won't reveal everything, as we want to keep some **surprises **for you, and because in game development, it's possible to deviate a bit from the initial plan.

  • Foliage Settings: Disabled the ability to hide foliage in low mode.
  • Quickplay: The quickplay option won't send players to the training range map anymore.
  • Rank Reset: Fixed rank reset bug.
  • Performance Improvement: Might not work for everyone, but for the majority of players. Tt depends on your PC specs. Make sure to set your Direct X version to 12 if you previously downgraded to 11 so the changes can apply.

CHANGES

  • Grain Correction: Settings > Graphic Settings > Grain > You can now turn off the grain if you are experiencing bugs with it.
  • White Line Artifact Correction: Remove some white artifacting happening on some people's devices.
  • Server List: Addition of a new section with games that have just started and that we recommend joining.
  • Bomb Theft Bug: Fixed the bug where stealing the bomb from an ally's hand would create issues.

MAPS

  • New Map: Abandoned Hospital! *An abandoned hospital with a long corridor empty of life. Be careful, you may not be alone. * (Please note: You may experience FPS drops upon startup as the game loads for the first time.)
  • Map Fix: Correction of shadows on Tumblewood.

BANS

  • Reported cheaters have been banned, if you encounter any other ones in your games, make sure to report them in #🛑┆player-report (with proof and a Steam profile, otherwise we can't do anything about it).
  • Leaderboards have been cleaned, people abusing points have been removed.

IMPORTANT NEW FEATURES

  • Steam Profile View: You are now able to check every player's Steam account during a game. Just press escape, go to the "Lobby" menu and you'll have a "profile" button.
  • Kick system: We re-implemented a new version of the kick system, a 10 seconds vote will now be started to gather the player's choice on whether to kick a player or not. To start a vote, press escape, go to the "Lobby" menu and you'll have a "kick" button.

If kicked, that player will not be able to rejoin the server before the current ongoing game is finished.

  • V-Sync save: the V-Sync parameter is now saved through game sessions.
  • Guns volume save: the sound of weapons is now correctly adjusted and saved.

  • Hospital Map: collision and visual errors were fixed.
  • Music volume bug: one song wasn't properly managed by the volume settings.
  • Lean bug: you can't see through walls anymore.

CHANGES

  • Gun aim speed: some weapons now have their aim speed increased.
  • Leaderboard: by default the leaderboard shows your profile first.

ADDED

  • New gun - MP5: the MP5 is a submachine gun with a 30-round capacity, less powerful than the UMP45 but with a faster fire rate. It is effective in close-quarter combats.
  • Guns lasers: we have activated a laser on the weapons (default key : L) in addition to the flashlight which can help you to target enemies without needing to aim. Be careful, the laser is visible to everyone. Depending on your feedback we will modify the use of the laser, for example if you prefer it to not be on your weapon every round.
  • Laser key remap: with the addition of the laser, you can change the key (default key is L).
  • Equip/take key: it's now possible to remap the key to take an item/bomb (default key is E).
  • In-game friend list for the host: the host of the game can now invite his friends during the game. To do so, press escape and the list of your friends will appear on the left.
  • Death POV: if all member of your team are dead you will see the other team's POV.

BANS

  • Bodycam now supports Steam game bans.

Being gamers ourselves, we know how much it means when a studio shares its news and updates. So, here's our first Studio News! We have some exciting updates from the studio that we'd like to share with you!

Studio Development Updates

  • New Leadership Search We are currently looking for a new General Manager to handle the administrative side of the studio and explore opportunities for Bodycam’s growth and development.
  • Anti-Cheat Collaboration We're working on an anti-cheat system in collaboration with another company to ensure fair play and a great experience for all players.
  • Team Expansion Our team is gradually growing while maintaining our indie studio spirit. We will introduce the new team members to you soon.
  • Taking a Breather Leo and I have slowed down our pace a bit to rest and regain some social life, but this is only temporary!
  • Zombie Mode for Halloween The dev team is mainly working on the zombie mode for the upcoming Halloween event, which was announced in the game's roadmap.
  • Maps and Bug Fixes The design team is focusing on new maps and fixing bugs to improve your gaming experience. A new map inspired by the airsoft map you all loved will be released soon.

  • NEW MAP : Bomb House (BODYBOMB MODE ONLY) The house bomb is a defense and attack simulation for the Body bomb mode. it puts you in the position of a team who must find a way to defuse a hidden bomb in a house.
  • NEW MAP : Backroom (Added because the easter egg has been found) "If you're not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in.
    God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you…"
  • Music Added "Apophis" by KIL KROOK.
  • Server List RANK You can now see the host rank in the server list. ( we will make an evolution with an average of the rank of the lobby.
    the goal being that everyone can find games depending on their level.)

CHANGES

  • **Head Clip : **you can't see through walls anymore.
  • **Map Abandonned Hospital : ** Map correction and balancing. (the shadow zone where the bomb was often dropped has now been removed to promote balance.
    objects have been added and others removed from extended walls to make the map more competitive.
    Adjustment of all the places where the bomb could get stuck.)
  • FSR 3 : Better optimisation and FPS Boost (it depends on your configuration, we recommend you try it to see if you get more fps.)
  • UI : Map & Gamemode Selection : We've modified the display of game modes and maps. From now on, you'll first select the mode and then the maps available for that mode. Like before please note that some maps are unique or only available in certain modes.
    We've also added information such as “new / ubdate / patch / and more...” to give you information on the status of a game mode or map.
  • **Aiming sensitivity and balancing. :**Fps-dependent adjustment of aiming sensitivity and motion balancing.
    For those with high or low fps, camera movements will remain the same.
  • Camera : improving camera movement and effects.
  • Guns Increased glock and deagle damage.
  • Player Improving mobility to avoid getting stuck in too many obstacles.

Hello everyone, Reissad Studio was at Gamescom 2024 (@shrewd wyvern, @scarlet dagger and me from left to right)!

We had the chance to meet tons of amazing people who will help us continue to push Bodycam in multiple ways for the direction we want Bodycam to go in. This is really promising, and we are really excited to see where it'll lead us all!

We cannot announce anything officially any of our projects at the moment as we are still in the early-talks stage but the future seems *bright *for Bodycam gamers.

FIXES

  • Very small character at game launch: Fixed a bug where the character appeared too small when spawning.
  • Team selection: Fixed a bug that prevented players from choosing a team.
  • Crouching hitbox: Improved the hitbox while crouching to allow passing through narrow passages.

INFORMATION

  • Deathmatch and GunGame limited to 7 players: Player count is capped at 7 to prevent excessive spawn killing due to overcrowding. (We test to see your opinion and we decrease or increase depending on)

CHANGES

  • Item detection: Items on the ground are now detected when approaching them. We will gradually adjust the visuals and detection range based on your feedback.

  • Bomb House Reworked: The map Reworked and optimized, now available in all traditional game modes. (For those who like the "airsoft house" the goal was to create a version structured like a real house, with bedroom, balcony, entrance and staircase. We think you will love it)
  • Localization and Translation:Added support for the following languages:
    *English - French - Italian - German - Spanish (Spain) - Arabic - Japanese - Korean - Russian - Simplified Chinese *
    (All text not yet translated will default to English)

INFORMATION

  • Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch: The mode remains the same, but we've added a timer to prevent games from dragging on, especially when the lobby isn't full.

CHANGES

  • Worn House Basement: We added a new access to the basement to make it interesting, and that was very much requested!
    This changes the map a little, notably the addition of a new door and the change of the roof at the exit location.
  • Map fix: We made some mini map fixes to improve the experience, removing annoying objects or patching them up if necessary. Confirmed players will recognize them
  • Bullet penetration: We have reduced damage to wood, particularly for airsoft maps. We can still kill through it but it's not as easy as before

UI

  • Item Detection Distance: We've improved ground item detection, making it easier to throw back grenades (though we still recommend not trying). The detection distance has been reduced for realism, and the item now appears only when it's at your feet.
  • Locker Visual: Improved locker and shop visuals, preparing for an update to the system.

FIXES

  • Public Pool: Vines now have collision, allowing you to shoot through them. (We apologize for any damaged drones 😅 )
  • Only Pistol: Fixed a bug that only gave players a pistol in Deathmatch.
  • K for Kill: Fixed.
  • Activate Flashlight: Fixed a bug where activating a flashlight on a dropped gun caused issues.

  • Friend Joining: The game will now automatically place you on the same team as your friends (the only exception is if there’s no space available on the same team).
  • New Grenade G68: This grenade explodes in 4 times and over a larger area. It has 2 times less damage than the classic grenade but can be useful in large spaces.
  • Localization and Translation: Improved support for the following languages:
    English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese
    (Any untranslated text will default to English)

CHANGES FOR ROOKIE PLAYERS

  • To ensure new players (rookie rank) start with others of their level, we’ve introduced the following:
  • Rookie Lobbies: Rookie lobbies can only be joined by other rookies. Once a player surpasses the rookie rank, they will no longer have access to rookie lobbies.
  • However, rookies can still join any other lobby, for example, if they have an experienced friend.
    The goal is for the rookie rank to be a transitional learning phase, while also making sure the experience is fun for newcomers. After just a few hours, they’ll rank up to Soldier and face more challenging battles!

UI

  • Server Selection: The server selection will now suggest lobbies with players of your rank to better balance matches.
  • Friend Scoreboard: You can now see your friends in the score menu.
  • Bomb Indicator: Once dropped, the bomb will be constantly highlighted with a red square, making it easier to find, especially on maps with verticality.

FIXES

  • Public Pool: Bomb mode is now fully functional.

PLAYER UPDATES (applies to all gamemodes, including zombies)

  • Knife Attack: You can now slash enemies and zombies by pressing X.
  • New Reload Mechanic: Interrupt reloading by switching weapons or using the knife—ideal for getting out of tight spots! (Note: Reloading will be cancelled if interrupted).
  • Updated Character Movement: Character movement/feel is now more responsive.
  • Faster Aiming Speed: Aiming a gun is now faster than it was before.
  • Weapon Switching Mechanic: Switching weapons is now possible to do when reloading.

NEW PURCHASE OPTIONS

  • Due to popular demand, we’re adding the option to purchase skins directly. The store will continue to use R points, but you’ll now have the option to buy specific skins directly.

OTHER CHANGES
Public Pool Changes: The Public Pool map has been changed in some areas.
New Weapon: A new automatic shotgun "FOSTECH" has been added, shoots automatically when holding left click.
Weapon Steal Fix: You now can't steal weapons from teammates or enemies.
Item Detection Improvement: Taking items is now easier thanks to better detection.
Enhanced Weapon Visibility: Weapons are now not affected by decals, which makes them easier to be seen on the ground.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost six months since Bodycam’s release on June 7th! Since then, we’ve been working non-stop to push the game forward and explore exciting new opportunities.

Since the game’s successful launch, we’ve been able to seize new opportunities and invest heavily in resources and projects. We’re excited to announce these soon as we continue shaping the future of Bodycam.

A key part of this process is the new roadmap we’ve been preparing. We’re fully aware of the existing issues in Bodycam, especially those that stem from its origins as an independent project developed by just the two of us. Our goal with this roadmap is to take Bodycam to the next level by addressing these gaps and handing over tasks we’re not specialized in to professionals. This will allow us to focus on polishing the core game and evolving it beyond its current scope.

Alongside these improvements, we’re working on exciting new features that we can’t wait to share with you. Once the roadmap is finalized, we’ll post it so you can review and share your thoughts.

Right now, we’re on a 10-day trip to Japan and will be back in a few days. We’ve taken this time to recharge, reflect, and plan the next steps for Bodycam. It’s also been an incredible opportunity to meet people who might play an important role in the future of the game.

  • 🗺️ Logistics (New Map): One of the smallest maps in Bodycam, tailored for Versus Mode and 1v1 Duel Mode. Designed for close-quarters combat, it ensures action-packed matches as opposing teams face off head-to-head.
  • 🔄 Oil Rig Returns: Back by popular demand, this map has been reintroduced with some incomplete features (e.g., missing floors). Improvements will continue based on community feedback.
  • Tumblewood Temporarily Disabled: This map is currently under rework. Stay tuned for updates!

CHANGES

  • 🎯 Bomb Mode Zones: Added strategic A, B, and C planting zones. Planting here cuts detonation time in half, offering more tactical depth. Default planting rules remain for strategic flexibility.
  • Versus Rounds Adjustments: Reduced the number of rounds to win from seven to five. Sides now switch after two or three rounds, depending on progress, for faster, more dynamic matches.
  • Lighting and Shadow Fixes: Shadows are now enforced for all players, preventing unfair advantages from file manipulation while maintaining immersion.
  • ⚠️ Bad Host Punishment: Hosts that leave before the match ends will now be rank penalized.

Game Mode Concepts & Community Feedback

We're exploring some potential changes and additions to Bodycam’s game modes, and we'd love to hear your thoughts!

Body Bomb (Significant concept change)

  • Each player gets a random weapon
  • The opposing team will have the same weapon distribution, ensuring fair matchups
  • Example:
    • A shotgunner will face another shotgunner
    • A sniper will face another sniper, etc.

Why this change?

  • This update encourages strategy and teamplay
  • Players must adapt their playstyle based on their assigned weapons
  • It creates natural duels, balancing engagements across the map
  • It reinforces team coordination, making communication more important than ever

Deathmatch (Major concept change)

  • Players will now have custom loadouts
  • You can set up your loadout before playing
  • You can switch loadouts after each respawn

Why this change?

  • This adds more personalization, allowing players to play with their preferred loadouts while keeping the fast-paced action

Concept Mode: Wingman (2v2 Competitive)

  • 2v2 competitive format
  • Features a loadout & economy system
  • Players can buy weapons based on performance
  • Choose between saving money or going all-in for a round

Why this mode?

  • We want to create a highly competitive, skill-based mode where team synergy, strategy, and economy management are crucial

** Concept Mode: Hardpoint**

  • Objective: Control and defend a zone against the enemy team
  • Uses custom loadouts, like Deathmatch
  • Players fight to hold and contest the zone

Why this mode?

  • This mode focuses on teamwork and strategy, encouraging coordinated plays and smart positioning to hold objectives

Gun Game (No change)

  • A new weapon is assigned after each kill
  • The game ends when a player gets a kill with the final weapon

Versus (No change)

  • Weapons remain randomized
  • Both teams have the same weapons for balance

This issue occurred after a Steam maintenance, and unfortunately, it took them a long time to identify and resolve the problem. On our side, we were completely powerless, waiting for their responses and looking for solutions without being able to act directly.

We’re truly impressed by how quickly you adapted, with many of you adding each other as friends to keep playing despite the issue. What an incredible community you are! 💙

We’ll do everything we can to prevent this from happening again, but unfortunately, some things in a game are beyond our control.

We're not yet actually sure what the real issue is though, so we're going to add more logging related to your appID in our lobby server. But for the fix, we basically had to restart the lobby server that hosted your app. That server also hosted many other apps though (like 7 Days to Die, Split Fiction, and others). Those other apps all worked fine...

Hey everyone,

We’d love to get your feedback on using a controller in Bodycam. We know that many of you play with a controller using Steam Input, as there’s currently no native controller support in the game. However, thanks to Steam Input, you can connect your controller and use presets created by other players to customize your controls.

**We’d like to hear your thoughts on a few things: **

  • How smooth does the movement feel with a controller?
  • Does the aiming sensitivity and general sensitivity feel right?
  • What button layout do you primarily use?
  • Any issues you’ve encountered (aiming, shooting, movement, etc.)?

**On top of that, we want to gather as much information as possible: **

  • How do you feel compared to playing on keyboard & mouse? Do you feel stronger, weaker?
  • How do close-quarters fights feel? What about long-range engagements?
  • Do you struggle to turn around quickly?
  • Do you find yourself bumping into walls or having trouble moving efficiently?
  • Can you aim downwards properly at enemies below you?
  • Are grenade throws, item pickups, weapon swaps, weapon drops, flashlight & laser activation easy to do?
  • What button do you use for proximity chat?
  • Are there any limitations or advantages compared to playing on PC?

Quick Steam Input Guide
If you want to play with a controller, here’s how to enable Steam Input:

  1. Launch Bodycam as usual.
  2. Press Alt-Tab to open Steam.
  3. Go to Settings > Controller and enable Steam Input.
  4. You can then choose an existing layout or create your own in the templates section.

I’m also sharing a tutorial to help you set up your controller properly. Try it out, tweak the settings, and let us know what you think.

Hey everyone!

We've just released Last Day, our biggest update yet, and now here's Hotfix 1.3.4.0, fixing several issues and improving overall gameplay.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Performance fixes on Russian Building, Worn House, Hospital, and other maps. (We've made some improvements, but keep in mind that the big performance update is coming in the next update!)
  • Death tracking fixed – Death no longer counts as two deaths.
  • Audio improvements – Overall sound volume levels adjusted, footsteps volume balanced, correct dirt sounds now play, and outdoor ambience works properly.
  • Private match rewards – Playing in private matches no longer gives you any kind of rewards.
  • Joining late – Joining a minute before the match ends now gives you no rewards.
    Note: No reward screen will play after the scoreboard while the match is ending.
  • Rank rewards adjustments – No rank rewards when playing with bots and fewer than 3 real players.
  • Hardpoint mode now ends at 200 points – Let us know if this feels too short!
  • Bots now stay in matches – As asked, bots will now stay in matches until the lobby starts filling up with real players.
  • Bot fixes – Bots now shoot properly, and their accuracy against other bots has been improved.
  • Zombie skins fixed – They now appear correctly instead of using test assets.
  • Improved match stability – Reduced chances of matches stopping abruptly.

DLSS IS BACK!

  • After encountering unforeseen compatibility issues the first time, DLSS has finally returned for good!
  • A new DLSS option has been added in the graphical settings, right below the “FSR” setting.
  • FrameGen is yet to be added, but it will come soon!

OTHER CHANGES & FIXES

  • Rank point not received fixed
  • The game has been optimized further, but we’re still ironing out the issues introduced in 1.3.4.
  • Upscale Quality, Anti‑Aliasing and TAA Upsampling settings work again!
  • The Weapons Locker has received some new icons.
  • Oil Rig shouldn’t use so much CPU anymore.
  • A bunch of new skin variations have been added to most guns.
  • A handful of new Operator Skins have been added!
  • An R‑Point softcap has been introduced! This is very experimental and will be tweaked over time (current cap: 10,000 points; above this threshold, point gains will diminish) - If you have higher than 10K you will not loose your point.

  • Team Deathmatch restart bug has been fixed
  • Versus win condition increased to 10 points
  • When playing with friends, you're now more likely to be on the same team

📢 <@&1144063119778394223> Small Update from the Team

Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing well!
I wanted to share a quick update, even though we usually post some progress in the #👀┆dev-leaks channel from time to time.

We’re currently working on some major updates that are so big we can’t really release them halfway done. It takes time, but we’re definitely on the right track especially regarding the performance update. We’ve done huge optimization passes, and even upgraded the engine from UE 5.2 to 5.5 (the latest version of Unreal Engine). This has been a very deep technical update focused on improving performance across the board.

Next up is the Loadout Update, which is coming soon. There’s still a lot of animation work to finish on the new weapons we want to add. To avoid delaying too much, we’ll release the update without every new weapon ready, and then gradually add them in future patches.

As for the Zombie map it’s shaping up to be something quite special. We’re preparing a video devlog to showcase all these updates, because we realized so much has been happening and a lot of people are waiting for news. The video will have a voice-over explaining what we’re working on and why it takes time.

On top of that, the studio itself is growing. We now have a bigger team, new organization, and even other projects in the works. Don’t worry — this doesn’t slow down Bodycam, since it’s handled by additional staff. These new projects are very exciting, and we’ll share more when the time is right.

One last thing: if you’re going to Gamescom in Cologne this year I’ll be there on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd. If you want to say hi, feel free to DM me here on Discord. If I get a lot of requests, I might create a small group so we can all meet up together. It will be a pleasure to meet you and chat about the project in person!

I know it feels like a long wait, but big things are coming. We’ll also try to post more often in #devleak with photos and short clips from the studio and from Bodycam, so you can follow our progress more closely.

This is the moment you were waiting for. **The Zombie & Polished Major Update is now live on Steam. **

As previously mentioned, this update is packed with optimizations, two new maps - CQB Powergun & Village, exclusive to the Zombie Mode -, a full rework of Worn House, and the foundation of what is next for Bodycam.

With now over 100 people working on the game, we are bringing the horsepower to our vision, with the goal to deliver really impactful and meaningful updates. It indeed takes more time, but at the end of the day, more content, all meeting our standards, is being and will be delivered.

This update is an important milestone but doesn’t mean we’re done. **Far from it. **

3 major pillars are tackled in this update.

Performance, Stability, and how we took your feedback into account


We updated the game from Unreal 5.2 to 5.5, and we reworked all the major maps, and most importantly, improved our internal processes. 

Let’s adress the elephant in the room: servers, anti-cheat, and UI rework are still in progress in parallel. They require a lot of work - and thus time -, but they remain very high priorities for the studio. ```

**The New Zombie Map: Village**

```It’s our biggest Zombie map to date.

It’s a laboratory for us in this horrific, visceral experience: some of the ideas we’re experiencing in Zombie Mode might make their way to the multiplayer mode, for instance the crossbow. 

Working with such a huge playground has brought us a great experience in handling more bots, optimizing, and working with new systems.

Please note that while Zombie Mode is a fantastic way to pick up the game, team up with friends and have instant fun, we will focus on the heart of the game, which is the multiplayer experience.```

**The CQB Powergun is coming!**

```It’s our biggest multiplayer map we’ve ever shipped. And it’s also based on a real airsoft location in France. Let us know if you’ve recognized the vicinity! It was a brand new experience for us to reproduce a real place and we cannot wait for you to play!```

**It’s far from being over.** We have already shared a glimpse of what we call internally the Loadout Update. Since the preview and the devlog, many things have changed, many processes have been improved, but it’s still a solid chunk of what’s coming next! Before opening a ticket, please be sure to provide us with as much information as possible about your PC specs and whatever you've already tried to fix the issues (ie: reinstall, repair files, update drivers, etc).

You should also try this and see if it doesn't fix your issue:

Delete the Saved folder in \AppData\Local\Bodycam
Repair the files or make a fresh reinstall
Re-apply your graphic settings

Maps can also take some time to load for the very first time, but once it's done, cached and compiled, it should be much smoother.
