you really just need to prove how you impact things, get some good reccomendation letters, write a fairly good essay, but unless youre in 12th you can always get more extracurriculars!

hi, i have a question regarding electrolytic cells. when electrolysis of water happens, thats when water separates into its individual elements, hydrogen and oxygen gas, but that wouldn't really change the size of the anode and cathode since the anode isn't losing electrons itself, but how come when perfoming electroplating, which is another use of an electrolytic cell like electrolysis, the size of the anode and cathode changes? thanks.

im late sorry. I meant to answer this earlier but I just thought about this again while I was writing stuff haha. I don't have the best handwriting, but it's decent i guess. I would say, the things that help me most are
-good writing tools. I'm fine with mechanical pencils/normal pencils for tests, but usually, when I'm writing fast, such as for taking notes, I use a fat tip ballpoint pen, they glide really smooth, dont smudge and dont break and helps make my handwriting more eligible. you can probably find one at walmart or something haha, the blue/black ones yknow?
-good paper. I dont like writing on printer A4 paper, cause it doesnt have lines and my writing just starts looking like all lopsided and slanted. I like using notebooks, the ones that have margins to add stuff later. Also, I don't like it when there's just a table under the paper im writing on, my school tables and tables at home usually have a bumpy surface and I don't like it when my words take that texture. And also, eraser shavings underneath my paper are my pet peeves so 80pg notebook are good or put 3 papers under ur paper
-hold pencil properlyyy. Ik everyone holds pencils differently, but for ultimate control (yes ik i sound like a gym teacher) hold it like literally very low (like not too low) like i would say 2.5 cm from the very tip (yes, i measured). Also, when i want big readeable letters, i hold it literally like very close to perpendicular to the paper (around 85 degrees). I'm weird so i hold my pencil so perpendicular that i cant see the letters unless i tilt my head, but it works so i dont care about my neck
ok i know this depends from person to person, I write neatest when i hold the pencil my thump on top of my index, like right on the middle section of my index finger and my middle finger under the pencil
-last thing, i like to write small, but not too small. I also like to have my letters more horizontal than verticals, make them look like fat bunnies.

Theres many ways to write! Good handwriting is subjective so choose what you think works for you

Also, usually, the amount of slant in the manner you hold your pencil is how slanted your letter ends up being. If youre a rightie like me, slanting your pencil towards the right will probably give you taller, skinnier, slanted letters. Slanting it to the left does nothing for me useless
sometimes, when i want something really unreadable, but still looking aesthetically pleasing (subjective) i will hold my pencil super high up (towards the 2/3) and slant it as much as humanly possible and make my hand a bit looser and only use index finger to push up and down (does that make sense??)

can relate. i felt this way when i entered grade 9 (in our system that is when 'high school' starts). the reason people study is because of motivation. they might be chasing grades or something. i didn't quite resonate with the chasing grades thing, and i tend to be much more extrinsically driven (rewards e.g go out, video games etc>)

i personally found it good to write (initially in a diary) everything that i want to do every day for the next two weeks. i also write specific and quantifiable studying objectives (e.g finish a specific paper or run through projectile motions and make flash cards). do NOT let yourself do your diary-wannado stuff until you have finished it.

i must stress the specific and quantifiable part. if it's in any part vague, it becomes easy to dismiss. make sure that you know WHAT to do and HOW to do it when you open your book

What I would do is make flashcards with the question on the front and the answer on the back and then give them to somebody and have them quizz me. You could also color code certain words and dates to make them easier to remember.

Hey ya'll.

Right now I'm a sophomore in high school (class of 2026) taking 3 community college courses over the summer (That is, right now) that are English Dual Credit equivalent to AP Lang & Comp, a Level 1 Computer Science course, and a level 2 Computer Science course.

The English and level 1 CS courses are not bad, I can do them perfectly fine while still maintaining good grades (atleast I think so, it's not too difficult.), BUT the level 2 CS course absolutely crashes this stability because...

1. I don't meet the prerequisites of the course, I'm literally taking the course preceding it so...
2. The assignments are RIDICULOUSLY long, I have to spend an entire day just to finish a single assignment for the class.
3. I can't barely comprehend at least 50% of what my professor is saying because he is listing so many terms that should have been covered in the level 1 course, which I have yet to complete.
4. It leaves no time for me to work on the other 2 courses I have, causing me to be burnt out beyond repair for the rest of the day.

I am able to drop the level 2 course by June 5th, 11:59 PM, but by then, IT IS DONE AND DUSTED, I cannot drop it after that date. I really want to drop it, but my parents really want me to keep taking the course because "I'm going to take it anyway next summer.", but I don't like this reason because it doesn't prioritize the quality of my grade, not just any grade however, a college grade, which I think is more important than diving head first. I also want to have more leisure time to study for SAT, do my summer homework for high school, and to have fun for this summer before I become a junior and become really busy.

What do y'all think? Should I drop it, or should I continue?
