My worries are rooted in the core argument that the difficulty itself may be shifted too much by the sheer AMOUNT of optional bosses we‘re gonna have. I‘m not necessarily worried about the fact that the „mandatory story“ will be too easy, I‘m worried that people try to trashtalk the game and call it too easy because the truly monstrous bosses are hidden behind a „wall“, forcing you to do something specific. I know it’s not in the realm of Archdragon Peak from DS3, but still, my point comes down to the unga bunga people calling ER out without actually doing the „truly challenging“ stuff.
That’s what I liked so much about Sekiro. If you didn’t wanna learn and suffer, the game was subconsciously gatekeeping you by not allowing you to progress.

Now that I think about it, the previous argument of some people was correct by saying most „truly difficult“ bosses were behind certain things, i.e DLCs or being optional. But still, this time around it comes down to the sheer amount of bosses available to us. I‘ve heard plenty of people calling DS3 too easy, but they neither did the DLCs nor bosses like NK, Pontiff etc
It’s kinda weird to describe my argument without sounding like I want Ninja Gaiden Black’s Master Ninja difficulty only to gatekeep people. It’s just a worry in the end, further amplified by things like nerfing Margit who was perfectly fine imo

I think it's fine that Margit was made easier. He's probably gonna be the first story boss most people face, and intended for lower levels. He probably got some damage nerfs or a small hp nerf. It looks soooo good it's a giant elephant statue with glowing eyes. And the collectors comes with a digital code actually for the game and a steelbook but not the disc.
