tbf, some bosses are designed around summons, but for the most part, split agro just doesnt feel like the "normal", at least when I used them, I didnt care about the attacks or health I just spammed attacks without a care since the boss back is turned away all the time.

the only thing summons did for me was give me a brief second to heal if it could pull aggro back before I died

but up to milania in my first playthrough I only used wolves I tried mimic once and it was doing a tiny fraction of my damage and dying fast cause I didn't know I'd forgot to lvl it up so I ended up killing my first milania with lvl 1 mimic only cause she was healing off my wolves too much lol

So miquella is mentioned plenty of times in this game so I guess it has some thing to do with that but here is the real catch at the end of the Millicent quest line you get miquella’s needle, the only place where you can use the needle is in farum azula in the land beyond time to cure the frenzied flame but the only place where you can used it is in the boss fight of dragon lord placidusax where he goes back in time to make the stadium you fight him in,

So my guess is that we go back in time and use the needle to cure the frenzied flame and then fight Miquella and maybe Radahn in his prime
