no lock on isn't really harder to begin with. I already don't lock on for bosses like tree sentinel because it's easier to aim your roll

no hud wouldn't change much. If I take damage and it didn't kill me, I have to heal before taking damage again. applies to all bosses in rl1

I'm very bad at Elden Ring outside of Malenia, PCR, and Margit which I know like the back of my hand now, but otherwise I basically struggle more with Godfrey/Radagon/Morgott than PCR/Malenia/Margit which is kinda crazy

my first run I just abused summons and co-op as well as bleed builds so never got to fully experience the game the first time, just practiced the hardest bosses (and margit, because parrying him is fun) so much that I can now beat them nearly hitless while everything else folds me 😭

what's the best way to get better at the game other than just normally playing? something that will like, rapidly make me better at all the bosses and the gameplay in general since Malenia, PCR, and Margit teach little to nothing about anything outside of their respective fights since they're unique

I'm a prime example, great at those 3 boss fights to the point I can no hit all of them 6/10 times and yet still can't beat something like Godfrey regularly
