okay do not do the same mistake as i did, when the game tells you to go north to the enchanted grove then actually do it and don't go east to floatsam vale - not only will you be underlevelled for the area, but you'll also lack abilities to properly put up much of a fight and will get soft-locked at the end of the area (cause ur not supposed to be there yet)

with that being said, i felt the masochist in me and pushed through, found a secret area which lead to an - according to other players - super hard secret boss fight which I did underlevelled
took me like the past 2 hours i think but I'm really proud and reliefed now

it's the equivalent of going from limgrave to caelid at the start of the game and immediately fighting the godskin apostle in the divine tower

The trick when she does it right up in your face is to:
Run around her, then roll in so that she lunges away from you, then roll into her each time she lunges afterwards.

Do a quick Google, you'll see the technique. Some people have a really advanced one where they sort of just dodge once and then move out of the way of her next one, though I'm not sure how that works. Google some vids, it'll save ya

It would still be a really good game though. I think people are wrong about why the game is so good. It's not the lack of objectives, hints, or what not. The game is good because the lore is great, the art is amazing, the combat is engaging, the difficulty is perfectly tuned, the leveling lets you experiment, the equipment selection is vast and varied, the bosses are epic, and the got damn level design is impeccable.

If you take the latest AC or Farcry game and just remove the map indicators and the hints, they're not suddenly going to become a 10/10 like Elden Ring. Honestly, it won't even bump up their score at all in my opinion, maybe they'd get an extra 0.5, that's it.
