in ES there are basically two groups of "spirits". Daedra, who are basically demons and most often work to cause bad things in the world using lesser daedra. They can actually influence the world, and are analogous to the outer gods. The aedra were at some point through one means or another in-game religion differs, locked out. They represent natural things or patron gods of crafts and would work to do good for people but can no longer directly influence the planet without some extreme event like in Oblivion or minor blessings through prayer.

In this case, Ranni has left the world and as far as I can tell cannot come back at all or without abandoning her post and allowing outer god influence to return. This is supported by her dialogue referencing the "cold dark path" or whatever that she must make alone

Essentially, she's sacrificing herself so that outer gods can never influence the world again. whether or not that's a good thing depends on the outer god. GW gave us grace but is still kinda sus

I don't think Ranni really changed that much, though, at least for the time being. In becoming Elden Lord, our Tarnished kills the vessels of the Outer Gods, such as Mogh, Malenia, and the Godskin Apostles.

The Gloom-eyed Queen isnt an outer god. She is an Empyrean [Blackflame Ritual] who was killed by Maliketh [Godslayer Greatsword], likely because she possessed the Rune of Death at some point and created Blackflame Incantations.

Death flame incantations prob used to be red like malikeths, but they are white now since the power of death was sealed.

We barely get to see the Hoslows and when we do it's mostly jarate Hoslow whining and being a wimp, but their little story is still one of my favorites. Juno seems like a badass but in a respectable, humble way since he's the main warrior of the family but refuses Volcano Manor, saying he wouldn't call himself a champion, while younger Hoslow looks up to Juno and wants to be like him, but eventually learns that being different by taking care of the jars is okay.

Yeah I felt kind of bad for Diallos, he’s just not a fighter like his brother and he finally tries to do something of his own only for it to not have a very happy ending

He gets a slightly happy ending if the player decides to tell him that he saved the pots, while other players just want to crush his soul before he dies by telling him he's a failure

i really love diallos. he's a troubled man who's trying so hard to be someone he's not. and when he finally finds the courage he's been trying to have, he's not strong enough to succeed. he's very tragic, but very well-written, and really endearing

If you’ve done the volcano manor quest and progressed it Bernahl will eventually give you and envelope inviting you to kill some wizard dude and The Bloody Wolf. Just keep talking to him after assassinations and he’ll give you the armor once you kill both
