No problem! The only effect is when you go home you'll have to walk a distance to get into your house, but hopefully that fixes it

#

In the future, if you go to the Watch to do vaults, don't leave out of the portal at the end, just travel to respite when you're done

I have finally braved a return to the Watch 😅 going to observe spawns for a bit. I came in through desert herbarium and my spawn point is totally correct.

It's pretty fascinating lol. Yeah it's put me in a US cluster for now and it's even earlier in the morning there so I think things are all smooth until more people log in later in the day. I'm just gonna play normally for a while.

I spawned on the rail again, gonna send another bugshot with the f2 info. On a US instance this time too with 12 people here. Seems like most of us arrived on the railing from exiting vault. I'm safe this time but just noting errors are still happening

yea just trying to wrap my head around why the spawn point moves... specially since it does not do that normally, ie, you usually stack on top of one another, and also the spawn shift is always towards the right rails and i think it always on the same point. Another thing is that the recruit almost always ends up outside , i have ever only once had my recruit also land on the bridge

Could be one of many things, perhaps it was an old position before a design change, and a reference or fallback reference somewhere wasn't updated. Maybe someone on the server has whacky folded ingot stats and when that data is loading in, there's an overflow. I don't have access to their UE project lol so it's anyone's guess.

I'm an engineer but not a server engineer so anything outside of basic network replication and authority is totally someone else's job haha

You can try, there were just reports that the vault portal would either A. not work. B. disable the ability to go home (Return to respite greyed out).

bring a watering can to a water source (either a rain barrel or a pond/sea), then use that watering can to fill it

you can then use that watering can to water your plants (think it lasts for about 5 or so patches of soil)

Hey all! The team has just pushed a potential fix for this infinitely falling through the Watch bug. What you'll need to do:

  • Log out
  • Resume character again
  • You should end up in your Abeyance Realm.
  • However, if you have been to multiple Abeyance Realms, you might not end up at the most recent Abeyance Realm you were in.
  • If this is the case, you will need to use Realm cards and select the difficulty level of the Realm to return to the intended Abeyance.

WOOHOO! I safely traveled to the Watch! This had hit me earlier... I managed to escape with help, and now... I was able to get to the watch! Time to find a recruit to replace my previous one.

So I was stuck pre-patch and was rescued pre-patch. My respite was 'reset' so I had to manually travel there by using the appropriate cards at a portal. I lost my kitted out companion. I was hesitant to travel back at all to the Watch- so I just went and played Helldivers 2 instead. 🙂

Ohyea, the Hotfix seems to have fixed it. I ran a few vaults, arrived back at The Watch safely.. and yea, everything seems fine 🙂

Yeah, so what I would do, is if you can, make a random abeyance different from his and plot down a cairn there. Use the world portal to find your old base by playing the cards where you lived to try and find it

That should enable you to move everything to that abeyance you're now "in"

Just don't use the bottom rest when looking, the portal should say "reopen" if you have the correct cards, and the correct difficulty

As said, that already happened before the bug. I build in an Astrolab Woodrealm and placed a Cairn, but still had the Cairn in the Abeyance Realm. Then I razed everything in the Abeyance realm and ended up in the Fae Circle of the Abeyance Realm when porting.

If I understand, he rebult the cairn in a not allowed place, not the abeyance.
They abeyance has the fae ring. So the game is sending them where he's supposed to be.

I could be misunderstanding, but this is how I thought it was
He built outside abeyance (first bug, this shouldn't have been allowed)
He went back home and replaced cairn (still not allowed)
so it sent him to an abeyance (allowed) with a fae ring.
But then it's sending him to you now, as a "registered" abeyance

I build right next to Wilhemina and the Essence Trader and there is another wierd thing. The first companion you can get here was the one I recruited. And now there is none.

Haha I think we've just got confused here. If you aren't bound to a respite, placing one will bind you to it automatically.

So you've placed a fresh respite, automatically bound do it, opened the menu and it says you are bound to it. It works.

I think that happened. I was bound to the Cairn, build a new one, did not bind me there, razed the old one and this did reset my respite to the first spawn spot instead to the new Cairn.

now just plunk down a portal to the other "home" realm, and never reset it 🙂

I think I better play it safe and move back to the Abeyance Realm. But first I need to get a new companion. That hurts most. I had found a girl with blonde curls. Very rare. 😢

Sadly in 111 hours I never met a second one with her looks. But it´s strange that she is not here, recruitable.

That makes me really sad. A "call companion" function would be most welcome, I think. I had another char after this one started falling and he suffered from loosing his companion several times. First time he was back in the Abeyance Realm, without the stuff I gave him, Second time I ran back about 800m to get him. Was walking around, not even trying to go into my direction. Weird.

yes, they usually try to port in your direction, but it seems they can get stuck and loose their sense of direction if your to far away
