A large walrus like creature with retractable tusks from its lower jaw. Females and adolescents of the species would have a few basic colour patterns and adolescents should always be within range of a female. Males would all have a dense short fur main thatβs a slightly lighter shade of colour than the rest of the leathery skin. The species lives in colonyβs that could either be a large colony, small ones dotted around the map or even just small packs around the place. There must be one male amongst every pack/colony that is larger than the rest in size and has a large orangey yellow crest. This is the alpha and could either be passive or aggressive. Or another idea that I had is that if you get too close to itβs colony/pack it towers to its full height of roughly 1.5 times the size of a player and does a light roar (a basic little roar nothing on the level of a reaper leviathan) once in this startled state if the player runs it becomes aggressive however if the player moves away slowly the creature remains calm and doesnβt become aggressive. This means that the nixrus may pose a threat in the beginning to new players but as player learn its behaviours they realise they arenβt aggressive but rather territorial and know that if no sudden movements are made they are relatively harmless. Maybe we could have an encounter where the stalkers attempt to pick off and eat the adolescents but thereβs a high chance that the alpha will defend it which I think would be super cool to see in game. Thatβs the basic idea
