so far the experience with this game has been...
1.The game feels small, the map feels like a big lake with everything being very crammed in.
2.The seatruck feels worse than the other vehicles in the base game.
3.The land exploration feels kinda bland, nothing on the surface.
4.Some of the rare resources are easier to find than the common resources because they have specific places they spawn.
5.The creatures feel much too weak, theyre scared of you rather than scaring you.
6.The resource progression is rather weird, you find copper and titanium first, then you find silver and lead, and then you find gold which is fine
but then you find diamonds at around the depth of 300 metres and rubys at certain spots at around 350, and then you have all the deeper places for no major resources, theres no reward in going deeper at this point othet than things to scan which are one time, and maybe 2-3 plants.
Pluses:
- like the new story.
2.The base building is quite a bit better (especially large rooms)
3.The creatures are amazing, theyre colorfull and feel more alive than the ones in the first game.
i reccomend exploring some of the caves in twisty bridges especially near green glowing things... that might help you with your problem

I recommend you get a couple pepper plants in your base, near the bioreactor, they're good for food n water, and pretty decent fuel for the reactor, too ... they can be found in caves if you go west of your drop pod

Its in the seamonkey cave, but the entrance is a bit hidden. You have to look behind you to see it. Its under/behind a kelp root. I recommend the map of the seaglide, there you see it better.

There are the following ways to get water: 1. Water you find in crates amd boxes, 2. Bladder fish in the fabricator, 2. Water filtration suit, 3. Water filtration machine, 4. Water purification tablets (found in the west arctic, recipie in the fabricator), mix with snow to get water 5. Any food that give you a substantial amout of water

I like mutipurpose rooms better, because they have more that underwater base feeling. But I agree that you can arange the interior of the large room nicer with the partition walls. So it has pros and cons. I mostly used the multipurpose, but also have some large room bases, which turned out really nice too.
