The cache are seperate to the artefacts. You don't get tissues and organs by scanning them, only by going to the cache and scanning the part there. I think you might get more cache locations as you progress?

Yeah, frank is kind of sloppy, as a predator. As long as you are actually running, and not just strolling casually, by the time he pops up, you're already out of the attack and follow up range.

I think the gain is more structural. You can divide the room, as well as having a squared room, as opposed to the octagon.
Besides, lithium is common enough, as is titanium, so its more a cost of time to find them than rare resources.

I do wish that observatories could be used like elbow joints though. Be kind of fun to have just that transparent bulb at a corner.
