They do give you a bit of shock-like damage if you’re swimming around them, but only if you’re below their eye, where their tentacles (bell) can make contact with you, iirc

You can find fragments either inside some of the kelp forest caves or also on the seabed in the kelp forests and in twisty bridges

The “crash site” as I take it, is the little shuttle thing on land. The lifepod (imo) isn’t the crash site. It’s jettisoned before you crash. The lifepod can be in one of has 3 locations, so it may not be in the same spot each time you create a save.

So depending on where a person had their lifepod, there may be slightly different fragments closer to them. But there should be seaglide fragments close by each lifepod location, that I recall

Below Zero was a success, the devs are proud of it. They know what they did good with BZ, and will use these learnings in SN2.

Yes, SN1 had even more problems with this, as the Cyclops was invisible when the engine was off, the Stasis Rifle could ignore all threats, Repulsion Cannon would too, and finally the Perimeter Defense System, which is the troublemaker in BZ. I get that the games aren't supposed to be difficult, but these make creatures not feel impactful.

there's actually a place somewhat close to spawn where you can find tons of diamonds early game! It's deep in the twisty vines (idk the official name off the top of my head) cave area where the squid shark is. It's also that deep cave close to where you can find the habitat fabricator. It's about, like, 300-400m down? Expect a deep dive and be wary of the squid shark but ye you can find diamonds down there pretty easy!

I am not sure what your question is. A chelicerate you spawned has its leash set to the location where it spawned. So of course it will try to stay around it.

I’ve been replaying Below Zero recently, and I’ve really enjoyed it. I don’t really care for the way they did the story (non-silent protagonist, awkward pacing with the alien artifact sub-plot), and I greatly prefer seamoth/cyclops to seatruck, but I’m enjoying it a lot more than my first time through. Possibly impacted by the fact that I feel like I’ve played half the game and still haven’t done the surface parts.

It’s still a great game, even though it’s not quite as magical as the first one. Easily worth the money I paid for it several times over.
