If she was quiet, the story would be terrible. You're supposed to play as a talkative, curious xenologist. I wish she said deeper stuff, but speaking less simply wouldn't work. That would require another story rework. She should've reacted to more stuff, such as when she finds the frozen leviathan, or found out she was moved to Outpost Zero as a punishment, or when she heard the logs of the Frostpack playing games together. And should've talked more often in general, she doesn't talk much about her close relationship with Sam.

But I get that many people don't care about the story, or the game in general, they just want to relive Subnautica 1 with a different coat of paint. I'm sorry Below Zero was different.

What I have been saying for a while now is that Below Zero is an expansion pack to the original Subnautica, I think the reason people didn't like it is because they were expecting it to be a full on sequel when it wasn't. It kinda got the Half-Life: Blue Shift treatment where people expected too much and ended up being disappointed.

People were expecting a repeat, but Below Zero had a different focus, for an overall different experience. Something new and fresh, for both players and developers. I know hate is a strong word, but people hate change. When something works, it's expected for the developers to hit that same note until it gets old. Below Zero caught a lot of people by surprise, because it was trying to be its own thing. So the game straying away from the expectations caused lots of mixed feelings since the first Early Access. The story was rewritten, to get closer to SN1, but I suppose it was still too different in the end.

SN2, unlike BZ, will have SN1 as its Northstar, going back to the roots. But I feel people will still have mixed feelings, because they don't want to remake Subnautica, they want to evolve it, innovate, or in other words, change. Some people find it hard to accept, but the things you felt in the first SN1 playthrough will never be relived. It's been almost 10 years (happy 7th anniversary), and the developers likely want to do new stuff too.

With a large community there is bound to be some haters and that's kinda just the truth. But I really am excited for what the devs will bring to the table in SN2! They have improved significantly from their early alpha builds of SN1 and I think they are going to continue to make great games in the future.

You honestly shouldn't. It's pretty, but that's enough for the people that like to play Farmville. The writing is very bad. 1/2 way through development, the original writer left and was replaced by someone who didn't know what they were doing. The dialogue is also bad. I still don't know why they replaced the original voice actress, but she was awesome. The world itself is pretty basic. I'd recommend either waiting for Subnautica 2, which should hopefully be better, or get another game depending on what you're looking for.

If you want to go to the biome after the bridge.

If you don't have the hydraulic fluid, you should go with a Seatruck with fabricator module to be able to craft it. Still if you have the docking module, I still think going with a Prawn Suit is better than a snowfox.

There are youtube tutorials how to find it, otherwise just search the lilypad crevices until you find some light sticks. The ||base itself is at around 370m depth||. Make sure to bring beacons to mark the path once you find it. You have to go back there several times.

You have to plant the seeds, not the plant itself. This is for almost all plants. You get the seed by hitting them with the knife.

Yes, the control room acts like a beacon by itself. But in the end, it is a beacon whatsoever, but it has a different symbol in the list.

You choose an item from the list and then run the scanner and it shows you the location. Best in combination with the HUD chip in your upgrade slot.

Also some range and speed upgrades are help full. Note that the scanner is limited in range. So it only detects items nearby and increases distance with the range upgrades.

Magnetite is available early on but hidden in some loot places. There are some hollow iceberg caves that have them. Officially the first one you will encounter are in deep lilypad cave and later glacial basin. Easiest 5 pieces in phi robotics, i believe. And of course our favorite place the ||crystal cavern|| 🙂

And when you harvest them, always hit it with the knife first, get a seed, harvest the plant and put the seed back.

Moonpool can hold prawn or seatruck cabin. Seatruck dock can hold seatruck with modules (no need to reattach them when leaving). It also allows you to enter the modules from the base (but the cabin upgrade panel is not accessible while docked)

The moonpool really isn’t very useful in BZ anymore unless you just wanted to dock a solo prawn in it. If you docked the seatruck cabin, it would cause any attached modules to detach. The fabricator can let you craft most things that go with the prawn and seatruck, and the dock lets you charge and paint a docked seatruck. So I think the only thing you can’t do with the dock is paint the prawn, if I’m remembering correctly.
