I've played and beat Subnautica. I'm currently in the process of playing Below Zero. They both have their pros and cons. The story in the first Subnautica made more sense, a janitor winds up in a spaceship wreck and has to survive. Below Zero Robin decides on a whim to find out what happened to her sister and in the process meets Al-an and the dreadful Marguret (sp?). I feel less bad for Robin as she decided to put her life in danger. I felt terrible for Ryley. The things I like about BZ is you can equip health kits in the hotbar, new stuff was added, etc. I miss the seamoth, it was nice. I also hate how slow she swims, they did that because the map is smaller, I miss the reefbacks. I like the glow whales but the reefbacks were better. At this point I'm just trying to beat BZ lol.

I however don't regret the purchase as I bought it on sale :D but I would not of paid the 29.99 usd it normally is :)

I thought all the video recordings in below zero were really nice and I did like to listen to them all. I thought they were fun. Buuut... that being said. The experience of Subnautica was not the same as below zero. I liked some of the land exploration but it felt very limited. Sadly, the whole world just didnt feel big enough. And the fear...there was no fear. I got jump scared once by one of the leviathons because I accidentally went into its area. But that was it. i want to experience the awe and wonder if exploring the depths. The horrific black pit of nothingness, and to hear a terrifying sound in the distance. Things that really make me feel like the infinite depths of the alien ocean planet are filled with unimaginable but completely natural horrors.

I liked the ice asthetic but I would have loved to see it explored on a much LARGER space. Like if in Subnautica 2 they made one section of the map ice, that would be super awesome

but of course thats just my opinion

My brother who is also excited for this game just hopes it isn't on planet 4546b LOL

The safest way is to kill it and scan the body, but if that's not currently reasonable you can survive one grab attack at full health which should give you enough time to get the scan
