iv stolen 67 baby pingwings in the last 2 hours
💀
Oh, understandable have a great day
Ye I found em
Funny way of saying bioreactor fuel
They like it
Why would they like being composted alive for energy?
It's going well. I've been waiting for some gel sacks to grow for hydraulic fluid.
They crave it
You don’t?
It's just one of those things I've never liked for some reason.
You're missing out. I just put Willow in there, I'm going in at a later time
Uh, who's Willow?
Don't you mean "who was"?
They aren't your glow whale or squidshark, are they?
@tacit comet are you my glow whale or squidshark?
I still don't know who Willow was.
Yes
Can confirm
What should I do now: fix the bridge to the ||Arctic Spires||, or explore part of the ||Mercury II||?
bridge
Bridges are boring! Exploring an old starship is WAY cooler.
I've got my Seatruck over at the dock, and I've got some hydraulic fluid, but I need to go get the rest of my cold suit from my base. Luckily, it's not too far.
Wormy would be very hurt if it could read.
Sorry, but I was leaning toward that anyway. I'll definitely explore the ||lilypads section of the Mercury II|| at some point soon.
I hope you explode. Respectfully.
I also found the ice-covered tunnel into the Arctic Spires, so I'll try to cut that open soon.
Very well then.
Which ||Mercury II|| section do you typically explore first? I like the ||Lilypads|| part better, but I usually start with the one in the ||Purple Vents||.
Typically I go for the ||Mercury II Stern first.||
I just realized that you can remember which one is which by knowing which one has the thrusters on it.
Oh. I was wearing the cold suit.
Yeah p much.
What's your favorite fauna in Below Zero? This is directed to anyone who wants to answer.
The worm
I feel like it could have more potential - I would prefer a creature, rather than an environmental effect. That said, I love the concept.
It looks and sounds cool, and the place is pretty
I also like the shadow leviathan, I called them Christie for obvious reasons.
They're one of my favorite leviathans. I'd like to build a ||Crystal Caverns|| observatory base to watch them.
I love squidsharks, arctic rays, and pinnacarids.
I love most creatures, honestly
Everything is so cool
Got tired of all those eels in subnautica
Regardless of the way they behave, I prefer the Below Zero creatures.
Likewise. The only one I don't particularly like is the rockgrub.
I don't mind them. I actually like how vociferous they are; it gives them personality.
They could just say it, no need to scream at me
I disliked reapers for the same thing
I suppose; I wonder why they are so loud. The reaper, of course, uses echolocation.
"hey, sorry to interrupt you, I'm really dangerous. Just wanted to let you know" And that's it, no need for all the RROOOAAAARRRR GRRRR RAAAAAHHH
I would prefer the roaring, but to each their own. It would get annoying if they said that every time.
Yes, but they'd only have to say it once
My memory isn't what it used to be, but it's still good
I just had my first ice worm encounter/jump scare. Yay!
What a beauty
I was also exploring, and found myself.... right back at the bridge.
That was quick
Well, I explored that biome. Not.
I don't kill leviathans. However, I do the pure invincibility of the ice worm that comes with being undamageable.
I got the ice tunnel to the ||Arctic Spires|| open!
The things that I would do to find the last two seatruck fabricator modules …
If you found one of them, then you’re in the right place to find the other two
One was in the koppa mine but I have no clue where to find the two others 😭😭
I’ve literally found spare modules of every single other one except the one I was looking for
Storage and fabrication module fragments are found in the deep twisty bridges
You know, down there where the squidshark patrols
It’s not found in Koppa Mines
I don’t recall any seatruck fragments being located inside Koppa. There’s prawn fragments but not seatruck fragments
Oh okay. It was quite awhile ago so I don’t exactly remember where i found stuff
Will go down and no life the twisted bridges though, Ty
It’s really a shame because all the other modules are found all at the same place near the ||sunken ship||
fabricator is in the same area
Not exactly, but close.
I might be hated by the terrain of the world.
I lost my vehicle again and I'm stuck at 930m underwater.
Oh. How could I lose my life for the first time over something so trivial in an environment where no creature would attack me?
If you are at 930 meters, there are creatures that could attack you.
If you do play with the latest version of the game, they won't attack an unpiloted Prawn Suit though.
Before they were.
No, me and my vehicle penetrated the terrain and went to the abyss.
Is the terrain generated properly?
It wasn't before, but now.
You might have the bug where the terrain generation is completely stuck.
Hmmm, I don't know much about it, but I think it's because it moved faster than the map loads.
Alright.
It would be useful if the release command could move the vehicle along with it...
Well, it's difficult and can be abused...
or PC spec
Are you inside a Prawn Suit?
I've already ridden away and died.
So it is a Prawn Suit that is now stuck in the abyss.
You could reload, or I could teleport it back with your save file.
I will do so from now on.
I've got a question guys, but it's spoiler related- can I still ask it here??
Of course just put spoiler tags around it ||like so ||.
Thanks!! whats the purpose of ||curing the ice beast??|| I mean its a nice inclusion but it didnt feel very useful story wise
Well, what was the sole reason you (Robbin) came to 4546B in the first place. To find out everything that happened to your sister. So persuing this task will eventually lead you to the ||frozen leviathan and the antidote Sam hide from Alterra. By curing the frozen leviathan you finish what she started and you get piece of mind regarding her death and the bacterium. Also it proves to be effective and probabely also helps AlAn in his scientific study of the bacterium. But finding peace of mind is the main goal.|| Unfortunately, this initial "main" story line gets out of focus by many players and some will finish the game without completing this task. I personally (and I am very lonely with this opinion) would have perfered that you cannot end the game without completing Sams story too. Or at least that the game makes it clear that you miss out on this before leaving.
I played this game blindly, and I did finish everything story wise. It was very easy to follow, exploration was rather quick
Technically you are asked if you still have unfinished bussiness before you start the 'end game phase'
Following Sam's stuff was fun, really enjoyed it, it was my main focus throughout the playthrough
Which, if you dont know what it means is very unspecific. It should have asked: Would like to leave feeling that this still important questions to answer regarding the death of your sister? Probabley you need more time here to investigate?
I got warned for texting In the wrong chat
Sounds like typical subnautica discord moderation to me
@vast jay I assume because you used quite a bit of spoilers in that message 😉
Also @carmine bobcat if you have a concern regarding to moderation you're welcome to reach out to one of us instead of writing messages like those.
If you have a problem with one of the mods in here you're also welcome to reach out to Donya, Subnautica's community manager.
I don't feel like that message is the issue, rather that the whole thing is optional 😕
And thats personally my biggest critique of the game (which I love!!!). They send you with a very elaborated backstory to the planet and as soon as you arrive it becomes optional. I think that is unnecessary and could have been better integrated with ||AlAns story||, even making some task preconditionally to the the other. But even the way it is, quite some players end the game without knowing about the ||frozen leviathan|| which I find is sad. So even if the entire Sam storyline is optional, it could have been a bit more emphasized. But its OK, this is just me personally and I have played the game many times so far. So evertime somebody claims to have "beaten the game" I kindly ask if they have ||cure the forzen levi|| and sure enough, quite some players did not. Besides that, everything is just wonderful!
It's a good game but only if you've played the original imo
probably
I played Below Zero first, and I indeed finished the game without ||curing the leviathan||.
I think it’s sad you can finish the game without seeing the ||frozen leviathan||, it’s such an interesting story and I feel like it should feel important, but I can see how for many players it isn’t.
It's weird how people don't listen to the logs and just continue the game, missing core parts of the story
Fred told us about it very early in the game
I mean, kinda early
Spoilers are allowed tho
as we were discussing in #subnautica-chat, weird organization
there really should be separate chat and spoilers or help channels
Your message was in #♫♪-disco-lounge-♪♫ 😉
oh lol
So I painted my Seatruck red. Not the best option of color. I startled myself thinking it was a Chelicerate.
oo a wild peeper appeared, im getting my flame knife thingy.
what do i do now
Read the PDA, the maps are very useful. Also, listen to the logs, they tell you the locations of stuff
i turned off the thing she wanted me to and found her house
now what
Well that doesn't really say much
wdym
You can do that very early, or very late
hmm
Go to Phi Robotics and explore the area
It's huge, it'll give you lots of hints on what to do next
i did that
i havent played in a while and im completely lost
Visit the alien thingies
Use the maps. Yes they are.
alr thanks
In a cave. There are lightsticks and crates pointing to it
alr thanks
There's also an Alien cable
alr
this?
That is a different place, but it's cooler so you should explore that
alright
I'd recommend placing a beacon there
ok
The Alien Fossil research is a different thing, the Omega Lab is in the green area with the Mercury II and whales. There's a broken cable that leads you there
didnt see it
theres no copper down here is there
It's red and pretty
this isnt pretty
Depends on the platform. On pc, click the eye icon on the image, on mobile click the pop up of the image above the text box
ohh yeah thanks
Agreed but for an non-experienced player like me, I would have found it very difficult to seperate the important clues from the smalltalk. Many logs are just background story telling and suddently there are some very key ones that are easily overread. I would have wished that important clues would have been highlighted or emphasized a bit more, so you can really pick them up. Yes, I know it sounds a bit lame but it would have made inexperienced players a bit more aware of the importance of certain logs. Maybe its just me.
oh?
Seems important!
I listened to all of them as I got them. They're fun.
Yes. absolutely and many of them are smalltalk. But suddenly there is an important clue that might not make sense right now where you are. And then later, you did not know that it was said. That can be a bit difficult.
Okay, I may be an exception
I listened to all logs, from everyone, multiple times as I explored the areas
Probabely not in this community, and you might have played many games like that. I need a bit more "assistance".
I love Fred, the low maintance seatruck guy. I am Fred in this game 🙂
Fred is so silly
Everyone is so silly
It really says a lot about Alterra
In SN, the crew members were silly, but not this much
why did the have to put three of these guys down here
The more, the merrier
Should only be two in Red Crystal
the scan talks about "mating season" bro there are like 7 here in total just call it a family reunion
idk but they keep spinning around until the seatruck starts moving
Zapp them!
with what
With the seatruck perimeter defense upgrade module that you aquired loooong time ago in the game
the
what
Seatruck perimeter defense upgrade module. Dont tell me you play the game without that game changing device
uhhhhh
it just so happens
i dont have that
It was on the floor in ||Maidas sea base|| for you to pick up and install in your seatruck
skull
i went past that on the wayhere
how did i miss it
I'd love to work for Alterra, honestly. The employers may be these heartless super evil guys that only care about money and expansion, but the employees. It really shows that Alterra isn't just a corporation, but a lifestyle. They give you everything you need, in exchange for your work. Makes the workers feel like they're still immature, used to being spoon-fed.
Frostpack is an amazing team, everyone is having fun, even Parvan
i just get out of the seatruck when the leviathans get near and they just swim away
They don't attack the seatruck if you're not inside.
Yes, all the characters presented in the game are normal employees that do their job and live their lifes. So nothing Alterra-like to see there.
they dont attack it even if im inside
They attack it if you're piloting, I think
yeah
Yes, once you stand up they dont attack, but outside you will be attacked.
ik
Well if you are that far in the game without the zapper, you might as well continue without. But you might also go back and get it for the rest, just to try it.
i mean i need to go back anyway
i have none of the things i need for this
Who would have guessed that
was not as bad as everyone thought. The culture is not very nice in some aspects, specially the more profitable people who have relationship contracts and have to manage hours (looking at you, Wilson) but at least it's a nice and safe environment for everyone.
I was surprised to see that people in BZ have relationships too, that do not require managing contact hours or anything like that
Because you are looking the right places.
You keep missing the spoiler tag button too
oops
wait no
i clicked it that time
Unless it's that Discord bug that automatically clicks spoiler tags
No problem, just remember the locations or drop a beacon. You have beacons with you, right
There's copper and titanium down there
the book of mystery
Excellent, how many did you find so far?
2
||skeleton and this once organ|| right?
Have fun with the third 🙂
that makes it sound like its in some stupid difficult place
Nooooo, how did I made that impression???
Sorry, it was a bug on my end. You did indeed spoiler tag messages.
It's in the coolest place for sure
||pun intended||
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
From the alterra facilities map, which alterra bases did you NOT visit yet?
zero and omega
You have been to Phi???
yes
Oh, maybe have another go
Did you fix the bridge?
Did you see the ||bridge||
what bridge
Ok, then definitely have another go
Yea, give it another go
alright
Do you have the ||spy pengling|| blueprint?
yes
i havent found a use for it yet
Well, then you have many more reasons to go back to the area of phi. There are two areas ||Glacial basin, which is on the Phi robotics side and over the bridge||, Both sides needs very careful inspection.
ok
And bring not only the spy penglin but also the remote control for it OK?
ok
@latent brook do present arguments, please.
"Famous YouTuber said so" is not a valid argument, by the way.
I always laugh when someone uses the word famous and YouTuber in the same sentence…
Ahh yes, because the internet is famous for being 100% reliable😛
Do you have a citable source for that?
I have a picture of Abe Lincoln stating that, does that count?
Probably not.
gday boys
Hello!
Yes.
show a pic of your bz base
I haven't actually figured out how to send images yet, so is it okay if I describe it for now?
sure
what platform you on
hmm idk what to do then
so goahead jus describe
while i start my fitst survial world
freeedom regular or hardcore
I built in the deeper parts of the Twisty Bridges. I have some foundations and growbeds, and a hatch leading into a multipurpose room with water filtration, fabricator, storage, chargers, etc. I have one corridor that I haven't done anything with yet, and the other leads to a ladder. I have an interim level with an observatory with two aquariums, and then a large room above that. It's mostly empty, but there's a kitchen and dining room area with a nice view of an oxygen plant.
or custom
picturin in my head
AWESOME BASE BRO
I'd go custom, so you can change it whenever. It does disable achievements, I think, so you might want to do something else if you care about that sort of thing.
tell me what i should set it as tho
Thanks! I can let you know once I figure out how to post an image, if you'd like.
Mine is currently custom, but essentially Survival. However, I turned down creature aggression for realism, and I also am playing as a vegetarian. It's not particularly hard, actually. There are plenty of edible plants early in the game. (I'd go for frost anemones).
... just look through the options and tell me what you want me to turn on and off
you can make me hardcore veagn but no hunger and 02 depletion
Do you want it to be interesting?
i want you to make a list containing all optoins beside the slider options and say yes no for off or on
idc how ya make it i'll do it
k
Hunger: yes
ok
Thirst: yes
Body Temperature Decreases: yes
Oxygen Depletes: yes
Vehicle Crush Depth: yes
Underwater bases require reinforcements: yes
Crafting requires blueprints and resources: both yes
Technology requires power: yes
Story: yes
Initial Equipment Pack: no
Allow Permanent Death: yes
you are naming defualt rn
Turn off all of the alerts.
Also, you can't use organic oxygen sources and you're a vegetarian.
wanna set up my sliders?
I'll leave that to you....
You may change these at any time.
For the record, I don't really care what you choose; do whatever is funnest!
i want to try someones elses idea tho
Okay, then go with it. : )
HERE WE GOOOOO!
Well, that's what I like! They're default for a reason.
crazy how 4546B went from straight ocean to FREZZING ISLANDS!
I think it makes sense for different parts of the planet to have different climates.
then wbt marquite madia
she was semi-introduced to us in the first game
but now we see her
a little odd eh
She gets here by ||riding the floating carcass of a dead Reaper leviathan. The skull is now on the wall of her base.||
yeah but a leviathan wouldnt hold nuff meat to keep float after a week or two
them things pretty big man idk
I suppose if you ration it it could be okay. Still, ||she got lucky||.
now that makes sense
got a scanner now lol
What are you going to scan first?
What's for dinner?
peeper boomerang aaaand a side of hoopfish
Wait, aren't you a vegetarian?
You ate them already? You can switch the settings if you'd like.
just did
Wait, does that mean that you can't eat fish anymore, or you can?
There was probably a massacre or something; I don't think it's established.
know what we got 12 devs on
I think you're not supposed to bother them.
how do u get the multipurpose tool
There is plenty, if you find the right PDAs.
is that to craft the moon pool i forgot
Are you looking for the habitat builder?
Have you been to the ||Delta Island|| yet? If you head up to the top, you can find a fragment. You only need one.
it’s my second time playing it so probably what is it tho
ohhh is it when the ||the girl with the mech suit||
You'll get a beacon for ||Delta Station Dock||. The fragment is at the ||station|| at the top, probably on a crate.
Be sure to read them while you're muted. Behave when you come back.
Exactly! That's ||Marguerite Maida||.
oh thank you
that ain't a good habit to have
i’m here i can’t find it ):
nevermind!!
and i'm back hi
Anyone know all of the locations of the little pet things sorry I forgot the name
In the ice spires, the big anemone place, and an iceberg
Sweet thanks i’ll go get them now
If you want the exact locations then you can search it up
Blue locations. The lower is inside an iceberg. You jump over from another berg in a prawn or bike.
Gold is in deep lilypads, in a dead end cave, under a loop plant
Tyty
if you go looking for a video on trivalve locations, pick the one by 1up nerdcore
Good morning, what a beautiful day to get our feet wet
Ye
Swimming in water near the freezing point doesn't sound very great though 😆
Wait subnautica below zero is water related?
psst, ice is made from water
Mind. Blown.
What is water, but weak ice?
Yeah. Water is just more dense.
and more malleable
if you crush/shred ice fine enough, does it become water at some point while still being frozen? 🤔
Well, yes, but I don't think we need to get into how fine of a cut you'd have to do here to take it from 4 bonded molecules to ~3. Instead, that's better suited for off-topic or just not at all because why? lol
I'm gonna watch a video on this iceberg, does it contain any bz spoilers?
I always feel like Robin must hate getting in the frigid water after a night sleeping in a cozy base.
It doesn't look like it.
It has lots of spelling mistakes and such, but has no BZ stuff.
Incredibly inaccurate "Time capsules are randomly generated" "taming stalkers"
this iceberg looks like crap
It doesn't look like, it is. "Degassi"
Peeper leviathan is a meme :)
also tf
One of the songs uses Donald Trump saying China
huh. which one?
I don't remember, but it's used as a background noise
all fauna being one sex shows up earlier in the game than the ||reaper skele in the lava zone||
aight well thanks guys
We should probably move this to #memes-and-media
good idea
oh and do you guys recommend me adding like a map mod/snap building/keep inv mods on my first playthrough of bz
hm ig map would affect gameplay too much
5 is enough
yea sorry typo
see you when you finish BZ
o7
I want a t-shirt that says I ❤️ ||Marguerit Maida||
I don't know, I don't really like her. But if it said I ❤️ Fred...
Real
So true.
OH NOO
Exactly
i love glass (building a megabase rn)
I need a lot of glass for my future base
yeah me too thats why i got this glass
i tried docking with my fabrication module but somehow this happened instead
there was good stuff in there too
They get ripped off if you dock into a moonbase. Didn't think it did damage tho
no i wanted to dock by just shoving the back of my seatruck into the module
i think i shoved too hard
🤣
btw whats the best way to get lead
Park the cabin nearby, exit, grab the handle on top of module and drive the module to the back of the cabin (or other module)...easier to attach modules and keeping them intact
yeah but im lazy
tried to do it the fast way
Well, how fast was it😜
too fast
I think the only way to get it is from galena outcrops.
im already out of glass
It always goes very fast for me.
Ask in #subnautica-chat please. As you aren't playing Below Zero.
Big shrimp
can anyone help me in subnautica below zero idk what to do i need help if anyone can help me dm me
Break rocks, build tools, scan everything
not abt that ....
Am not a starter
it abt something else ........
Such as...?
Have you been to Koppa Mining Site?
that the problem i cant find it
You can find more parts in the large Mercury II wreck, in the green place.
The mining site? Have you visited the Delta outpost?
i tried
YES
100 times and even watched tuto
found nothing at all
can u plssss help am tired of staying 100 hours searching all places
You probably have a map of all the facilities. It's very helpful
It is SW of the island, underground.
what?
South West
i told u idk where to find it even searched at the green garden
Koppa is ||behind Delta, south side||. Look for a deep trench going down, there will be lights and crates at the bottom.
You’re searching the wrong spots for prawn fragments…
You're not searching properly.
i can share my screen and show u i visited every single spot
i cant find it
The map you scanned in Delta has all the facilities, you can find Prawn fragments in the wreck near Omega, in Zero and in Koppa
Obviously your screen isn’t showing the right spot then…
i tried searching under delta 10 times
and my seatruck almost got fully destroyed
for that
ik how it look like idk where it is
yes that it
Once you get to Delta, head SW, and hug the ground
Eventually, you'll find trenches with crates and lightsticks
hug the ground = am dead
?
there is weird dragon things
idk what they are fr
they fr almost killed me 1 million times

That's a lot of times.
and i cant dodge them
You can turn off lights
theres are too many of them
i tried that but i couldnt see ....
Do you have the repair tool yet?
and i hit one of them ...
Hitting them is fine…
if i didnt my seatruck wouldve been destroyed by now
they attacked me for that
so idk what to do
so hugging the ground = they will all rush me
If you don't hug the ground, you won't find the cave, and end up losing time.
well if i do hug the ground they will kill me
They won't, trust me
plus they are super creepy
Ok. Find the ||Delta beacon. Circle around as close to the island as you can get and just below the water depth||. Watch the terrain, when you see it drop off as you’re circling around, go deep. That’s the spot you’re after.
btw how deep is it?
About 150m
phew
The Alterra Facilities Map helps a lot when trying to locate it.
Your truck can go on the doors sideways, but takes some wiggling. Not always worth the effort to try.
theres a shadow Leviathan wow
Yea, I told them about it...
Oh. :(
so can u tell me how to pass when theres a shadow leviathan
Weird, last time I was there I didn't find any hostile creatures. other than rock punchers
well maybe it a glitch idk
You're either self-sabotaging, using mods or simply in the wrong place.
bcz theres is a shadow leviathan fr
None in that area. Ever. During normal gameplay at least.
Could you share a picture?
if im alive i could

Open pause menu, take screenshot
u mean screen shot the cave?
Yes.
The mining site isn’t anywhere near there.
Is there a way to get a Prawn suit through? There are those big mineral chunks inside that you have to drill.
Yes, also sideways and wiggling.
Ah, I'll have to do that next time I'm there. I haven't actually explored it yet in my current game.
Which ||Alterra facility|| do you all explore first? I typically start with ||Outpost Zero|| or maybe ||Delta Station||.
For me, ||Zero then Delta||. Gets you lots of scannables quickly. Not recommending that order for an initial playthrough. That demands more of a struggle for the exploration. 😎
Maybe not as much of a struggle as some folks seem to have, though….
The first time playing, I just went exploring along the coast and stumbled upon the ||Outpost||. At the time, I thought Robin landed on an island. Let's just say, I eventually had my first leviathan encounter.
😂
Those ||void chelicerates|| sure are hungry!
They haven’t had a good meal since Alterra cleared out.
i mean unlike ghost they need actual fish to survive so its kinda stupid that they go live there in the first place
We were talking a week or two ago about how they might be the mutated, oldest ||chelicerates|| that had gone out into the Void to die; thus, they wouldn't necessarily be eating much, which explains the decaying appearance.
They’re zombie chelis🧟♀️
Indeed! I think it's a fairly good explanation.
I'm currently exploring the ||Koppa Mining Site|| and getting resources from the rock punchers.
They’re hiding from Maida.
I wonder how big the juveniles are, e.g. the one she took the mandible from.
Not sure on that.
Salmon have a similar appearance iirc when they’ve returned to their spawning grounds. They focus completely on laying eggs, and they literally start to fall apart a bit. It’s kind of sad.
||If there were 147 trillion precursors, and they were obviously spread far and wide and super advanced, then why hadn't traces of them been seen before? buildings? its weird that such a big race even if it was super old wouldnt be noticed now that humans have also got space travel. Surely at least the higher ups in alterra know of their existence right?||
||It’s possible 4546B is just on the fringe of their systems? So maybe it’s far even for them? Perhaps they’re just good at hiding things, and Alterra just happened to discover them.||
Honestly, we don’t really know.
I don’t think any Alterra higher ups know of this, beyond what the individuals in BZ know
very strange indeed
mm, havent played bz so not sure what the lore includes there, other than that theres a ||precursor or something named alan||, which I guess confirms that the ||precursors arent humans from before earth got destroyed||
But you should most certainly finish and understand SN1’s story first.
Precursors definitely aren’t human from earth.
Not sure where that came from, never heard that before
They’re a different species/race entirely
Aliens, essentially.
just a thought I had, considering the whole "post-MAD earth" and such
mhm
Imo, it doesn’t confirm a post MAD situation on earth
true, the way I read it I thought it was implied but didnt give it much thought
Gooooood morning 4546B! The weather forecast for today is Below Zero!
At me it says 420 because i'm in the ||shadow leviathan||
In your base or looking for stuff?
Looking for kyanite
Then you are at the right place! Should be easy to find....
Yeah altho am scared for shadow
Dont worry Levi is a nice guy only its ||four brothers are mean|| so make sure not to confuse them 🙂
I found his brother than
Oh, yea, then you might have a close encouter. Did you zapp him?
Yeah altho can you put perimitor defense inside prawn suit
No, thats the big advantage of the seatruck! The zapper is amazing (almost a bit too good imho).
Yes, no zapper here, you have to get back.
Altho if i sit i will die because than they will attack me
I built a base right on the edge of the dead zone. When I am in my main base all is fine and when I walk to the observatory it triggers the void chellis and they come. Very nice to oserve them from within then glas observatory.
Is this prawn or seatruck? Prawn right?
Seatruck
Then you are missing the zapper right?
Yes
you have two depth upgrades. This is being very silly
Uhmm death moduled
Yeah cause i forgot that i had 1
So i crafted another
Well no harm in that but not having the perimeter defense upgrade is bad down there
You know where to get it from right?
I do altho i forgot to put in
You have it with you are back in your base?
Yes
So i would go back and just grab the kyanite you need and prepare the seatruck for the journey down there.
With the zapper
Otherwise it will be painful
Also here, zapp will do the job
its not the best fuel you can get.
Btw you can put penglins in aquarium in your base. They look cute in the aquarium.
you monster
Wow, so much fun ahead!!! Congratulation
uh well
its just a black screen with the custom blue mouse the subnautica games have
Oh, thats a rough start then
has that happened to u before?
No, can't help here, don't even know what you are playing on
laptop
Specs are suitable for the game? BZ is more resource-hungry than SN.
Laptop specs, is it a gaming laptop suitable for the game?
idk i dont think so
it aint a rgb gaming laptop or sh its ASUS
the mouse
like the blue game mouse is here,
its just everything else
is black
depends on the specs of the gamingf laptop
Thats what I answered, why you reply to me
oh wait im dumb nvm
np, all fine. Just cant help the player with the issue
specs is short for specificiations, or in other words the components in your laptop
you can view those in task manager
3 large quartz lets go
are you on steam?
megabase progress
They should make the void chelicerates scannable ain't gon lie
it's scannable, but it shares entry with chelicherate
hey mats :)
There can be mobile vehcile bay fragments also scattered along the seabed in the twisty bridges area as well, just lying around
lying about in the sand, these
bro almost ate me
well, there's always next time. Better luck next time, shrimpy
its weird how the original subnautica has terrifying sea creatures that scare 99% of people who play it but below zero is like: b i g s h r i m p
ah but that's not all
i pooped my pants when i got munched by the guy below the twisty corals
Did you get the scan?
naw he ran off
Oh, yes - the squidshark! I like them, but they're terrifying. That particular one chased me into a spikey trap.
Perhaps they get more scared when they encounter the ||Shadow Leviathan||.
As long as your base integrity is more than 0, you're good
When people say big shrimp, I always think of Rock Punchers
Chelis are nice, they feel like great white shakrs
I don't necessarily think of the rock puncher, but I don't feel that the chelicerate is particularly shrimp-like. I like that they sometimes poke their heads out of the water, like the spy-hopping orcas do.
Great white sharks also do that
thats not scary either
its not scary because of the perimeter defense upgrade for the seatruck
just one click and you're no longer being attacked
I recklessness made me very scared of the long fish
I went with a prawn, not a seatruck
so? it only does like 30 damage at a time
and then it leaves you alone for a while
its not like the subnautica reapers which hold onto your seamoth until its almost broken
Well, you see, they're really big, and they vomit acid over your prawn
And they were very aggressive towards me for some reason, apparently more than usual
I was very scared
i just hold drill them and they leave me alone
i even chase them with my grapple hook and they run away
Ew you drill the fish?? How rude
they attacked first so
And???
self defense
Yea, whatever, you can call it whatever you want
also they dont roar in the distance for some reason
I personally really liked the levi, I felt in danger all the time, and was very scared until I kinda got over it
I don't like reapers, this levi is much better (and cooler)
i think im just desensitized to it, its more an annoyance than something scary
if the seatruck perimeter defense upgrade wasnt so powerful maybe it would be more scary
the ice worm is more of a cool thing to look at than actual danger (at least when im in my prawn suit)
tbh i hate how easy below zero is, they made exploring tight spaces signfically easier by adding oxygen plants, leviathans do less damage and are less scary, more linear story, etc
I liked it, it allowed me to admire the places a lot better, oxygen plants are really really great. I was scared that Mercury exploration would be annoying because of being underwater, but it worked really well
ye but i prefer the terror of subnautica, it enchances survival experiance for me
You don't get similar thrill of deciding whether to explore a wreck more or exit for air supply as in the first game
exactly
I'm in the middle of below zero and I agree, story is more linear and pacing is steady, but the music, the views, this small thrill - I'm really enjoying that. Wish map was a little bit bigger
I thought so, but I wasn't entirely sure, and didn't want to give inaccurate information.
bro
yal know that ice hole near
that womans greenhouse
how do i get through is and what is in it??
Is it inside an iceberg?
yuh
To get through, you'll need a laser cutter. There's an air-filled chamber inside with some rare minerals, like diamonds and magnetite, as well as some copper.
tysm
You're welcome. I explored it for the first time a few days ago.
Does anyone here use the ||teleportation module|| for the Seatruck?
Never did. To me it doesn’t seem terribly useful.
Question, would it be worth it to build a surface base in the glacial basin
I suppose it would be good if you're on hardcore and about to get eaten.
There seems to be a lot of cool biomes but im not sure about resources just yet
Why not? I was thinking of doing the same.
Only thing I would be concerned with is lack of places for a seatruck and lack of coral for computer chips
Then again though
Theres quite a few big pools of water with direct ocean connection
You could build a Seatruck dock/moonpool/etc. base at the end.
Your saying like a I corridor connected to one or more of those?
At the end of the ocean path?
I wasn't thinking they'd be connected, but it could be a nearby place for docking. Plus, you could have plenty of room for underwater growbeds on a foundation.
Yeah thats what I was thinking too
Just a short swim to another base with all the essentials but uh... not much else
Maybe a scanner room there aswell so I can get some resources from the area
also if I do actually want to build this surface base
Do the steam vents give thermal reactors enough power?
That's probably a good plan. Plus, it's a stopover for resource gathering.
(talking about the ones on the surface)
I'm guessing that they don't, but I'd have to try it. Do you know what temperature they get to?
well they can get hot enough to burn you
They can? I know that that's what the scan says, but I didn't know that it actually occurred.
Im not entirely sure
You could also try one of the vents in the flooded ice tunnels.
I swear I stood on one for too long and got burned
its so difficult trying to decide on a base when I know barely any biomes and not trying to spoil the game by looking stuff up
I might experiment with it, or take the prawn suit up to see how hot it gets (once I build it)
Do you want suggestions?
my current base is in the deepest part of the regular twisty bridges (not the deep twisty bridges though) near ||Delta Station|| but
I dont know it feels constricted and too empty
That's where I built as well. I would add living quarters, windows, and plants to make it less empty, if you'd like.
not my base being empty
like the area is just... boring?
Resources are great there but uh
Thats really the only benefit from it
.
Honestly if I wanted a surface base but still with the benefits of an underwater base, maybe I could build on some floating ice and have an underwater section
Or maybe on the ||lilipads|| if your able to build on those
Oh, my bad. I think it's a pretty cool place myself, but to each their own.
so I looked up a map to get a better idea of where to build (dont worry I've seen most of the surface parts already and I turned off all the pins, no spoilers for the most part), what is this?
You certainly can, though there are more interesting places for above-water bases.
It might be a very large, featureless ice sheet or glacier, or something that's part of the map but difficult to access and not very useful.
im gonna be honest I was trying to get to ||phi robotics|| but then found the (spoiler warn.) ||frozen leviathan spot|| instead
by total accident just now
How did you miss ||Phi Robotics|| and get to the ||Excavation Site||?
I dont know
There's a cave somewhere under the iceberg that leads there instead
Thats what I took
Mistakingly-
I found the ||security guys bedroom|| and then the ||leviathan||
I almost went there before a lot of the game, but I'm glad I didn't. I found the Omega lab first and that explained a lot of the story, also outpost zero
It ends up directly at the ||Excavation Site||? Where is it?
I don't know, it has a bunch of eye jellies
thats def where I was
It leads like ~300m away from it
at least the entrance of it
Also, I've cut through the ice walls in the large iceberg near ||Marguerite's Greenhouse|| and the one that leads to the ||Arctic Spires||, but are there any other ice walls in the game?
I remember once I had my prawn parked on one and had the thermal module installed. The battery did charge while parked, so it may generate some power. But solar may be a better plan, sufficient materials around to build a few panels without taking supplies with you.
Good point about the thermal charging; I think you're right that it would work with a thermal plant. I suppose your power choice depends on what you plan to have in your base: for example, water filtration.
Well, that works poorly when not under water.
Usually I set up a scanner room to hunt for resources, battery charger and fabricator. Two solar panels is usually plenty.
I haven't disturbed or scanned anything there, but I found it, and it's terrifying.
It's not the tunnel at the end of the ||Architect cable|| that leads to the ||teleporter||, right?
I wish you could steal the intact Prawn suit in the ||Phi Excavation Site||.
I love baby stalkers! I have a picture frame of one standing on it's hind legs outside in my base.
It’s accessible. You can walk all the way around it.
So many prawns. And you can’t open their storage or steal their power cells…
Yeah, there is. It's just standing there, down in the tunnel.
It's all broken though
So they shouldn’t mind having their parts raided…
I wonder what happened to everyone else though, Fred left his shaving kit behind...
I thought there was a pda entry about them ||abandoning the bases||. But don’t recall…

Speaking of, does anyone put that in their base?
I do
Okay, I suppose. I've been working on my base, though I don't really know what to do with the rest of my large room.
Plants, counters and walls
Those are always good options. I have a nice kitchen/dining room area that I'm very happy with.
Did you use that trick of putting multiple executive desks next to each other?
No, I never have. I have a bar table, two swivel chairs, two counters end-to-end, and some shelves, a fridge, etc.
I want to use some plant shelves once I get those.
I should really figure out how to get my screenshots to the computer, so I can post them.
it is criminal to not let me put a bed here
Yeah theres an unfrozen prawnsuit there. With i drill arm IIRC
Maybe put observation.
enameled glass requiring diamond moment
oh yeah solar exists.... and it probably works well on the surface....
Theres quite a few diamonds at around ||300m in the Deep Twisty Bridges||, pretty easy to get early game especially with a seatruck available. I found like 10 diamonds there which was a good amount to start with
Only other spot I know of is in the mineral crevices or whatever they are called and the ||Koppa Mining Site (which you can also get rubies from)||
Oh there are many other spots for diamonds but the two you mentioned are somewhat the first ones the player discovers due to the story.
I had problems with diamonds at beginning as well - found some in deep twisty bridges, just enough for upgrade for Seatruck!
Cotrect, thats in line with the story. But there are many other spots for diamonds as well.
And then there's the option to use monkeys...
can someone give me a spoiler free hint as to where the mobile vehicle bay fragments are, ive found like 20 seatruck frags and only a single bay frag
The starting areas.
look for these (link) #below-zero-chat message
Because something’s wrong with your game
What is?!
Idk
unfortunately I don't think we have streaming perms here. idk why.
We decided we didn't want to deal with the moderation that comes from it, we already had a lot of issues in the past with the voice chats and don't want to add streams on top of it.
Your computer is too strong for Below Zero Nathaniels.
Mercury II?
Getting trapped?
Pffttttt
Ah crap theres a depth limit for these
day ruined
Luckily, there's a bunch of oxygen plants
What sort of floppy thing? Is it an orange-and-black creature?
Now you can build a lot of toilets, sinks and showers! Also because you cannot recycle them.
Pinnacarids. You can feed them fish underwater.
I spent half of my titanium storage on those
luckily metal savage is a thing
Yes, but there is plenty of Titanum in the world. Just keep the pipes for base building.
They're one of my favorite creatures. Are you sure you can't feed them on land?
Im wondering
can you use the pipe as a cage
Probabely not. But feel free to experiment. its for sinks, toilets and showers in your bases. Just store them for the time being.
Yes, they are amazing. I don't know if you can feed them on land, you try.
I wish those were the cuddle fish of bz
Slight;y dissapointed tbh
Will do. Regardless, they're adorable.
I never thought of that, but that would be perfect! They can even go on land.
The BZ ||trivalve|| can also follow you on land
waddling is cooler
Agreed. I like the ||trivalve||, but the pinnacarid would be so cool. Really, why can't there be multiple pet/friend animals?
You're on 4546b to do anything but cuddling with animals
At least you can have them in your alien containment tank in your base and swim with then whenever you feel like
Well, you can explore an alien world and make cuddly friends along the way. I wish either ||trivalves|| or pinnacarids could come inside your base and walk around, the way ||Preston|| does.
My biggest flex is that I scanned a leviathan while it was alive
Correct, trivalves should be allowed inside your base. Imagine you come back and it sits in your bed waiting for you
I always do the same. Which one was it?
my biggest flex is that I made my base in the || ventgarden || biome on the first 6 hour of the game
Elaborate.
The ||Tree Spires|| would be a beautiful base location. How deep did you build?
Red white one
Pretty new to the game wouldn’t know what it was I found it at like 400 m depth
I didnt want to get in the angry red shrimp's way too much so I made my base near the wreck
That's impressive to dive that deep early. If you'd like, it's called the ||chelicerate||.
Ohw Nice
It wasn’t early game tho
Cyclops brought me down there
It was in normal subnautica
Oh, so that's the ||Reaper Leviathan||. It's also difficult to scan without being eaten.
spoilers for sn
and bz
they're not censored, just covered with temporary spoiler tags
I don’t know
I thought the reaper was only close to the destroyed ship
||there are 10 around the aurora, 7 in the mountains, and 8 in the dunes.||
also, #subnautica-chat
@wet idol ||The Aliens knew about the Enzyme 42, but they didn't know how to hatch the eggs. They theorized that the Dragon's eggs would hatch in a similar way, but trying to study them resulted in everyone dying. Ryley then allowed the Enzyme to spread, and it might've entered the composition of plants and such. Data of the Kharaa and the Enzyme are available for scientists, so she might have taken a look and made her own antidote. She was studying with other sciency people, so I suppose she learned a thing or two. It is possible that the antidote was easy to make.||
i'm starting a new save. i'm immediately reminded that you can't collect these plants for decoration. literally unplayable
Same, I was so upset
RAHHHH
I'm doing a no prawn no seaglide run and I keep seeing so many seaglide fragments
Then why did you say that?
Also yes I was playing it on my alt
That doesn't mean that should happen though
Also 150fps average on my specs which is nice
Oh wait. There's something much more I'd want explained
Why does my GPU coil whine get louder if I set fps limit to its max?
The most beautiful one you can collect and plant is the spotted dockleave. Its such a beauty!
There are tons of fragments in the game but by definition you never see the ones you need the most.
Poor guy
rtx.
yeap
it's perfectly alive. just dead inside
because the gpu is doing more
he deservedit
Yes but coil whine doesn't really happen in like CS2
if you make frames unlimited same in Minecraft
W a t h e d o
If that is all
he looked at me funny
It could be the ray tracing but idk shouldn't really happen just seems like devs gave up half way
and didnt leave me alone
Like my build is literally from last year
Banish him to the depths of the shadow realm
he is in hell now
No more updates bug fixes or whatever
dont worry
I also kidnapped all the penglings and put them in my locker 😂😂😂😂
*insert Charlie Wincott laugh
ahahahhaaaaa dudodudodududedodudededudo.
Seatruck in 47 minutes with no seaglide. Not bad.
Indeed
Y coil whinethough
Is there anyway to activate beacons like if i want the alien to tell me where ||artifact pk8|| is how do i get them to or is it just random
Just random for the most part, look in beacon manager to see any available beacons (they can be turned off after visiting, so if your missing one check that)
Also note that the ||alien artifacts|| are kinda a spoiler
.
the aquarium module for the seatruck now that I think about it is not practical in the slightest-
sure it catches some fish for you but its so much easier to just step out for 3 seconds, collect some fish and cook them in your fabricator
pretty much is only a recreational module
so Titanium ingot in SN1 needs 10 Titanium in BZ only 5 why this change needed does BZ have lack of titanium?
BZ, titanium is slightly more rare
Not significantly, but early game you can only find it in resource chunks (limestone, galena, etc.), and you only start to see metal salvage mid-game
In lore this is because uh... well a giant multi-billion dollar ship didn't crash here, so only small ships like the ||mercury II|| crashed here and only added a bit of titanium into the system
hmm so titanium that dropped from ship immediately turned into outcrops :D?
No, the outcrops naturally produced titanium
Only other source of it is small, ||sunbeam|| sized ships, like I said.
and fragments... I guess if you want to count those
But yeah titanium is a bit more rare in BZ than in SN
And you cant use stalkers to do your labor for you and then just steal their stash... this time-
ah yeah remember collecting loot from them 😄
But the good news uh, copper seems to be much more common in BZ so
scenery
What da bench doing
Yeah there are so many god damn ores
It’s crazy
i rage-quit.
However, if you can't find anything quickly, it could be useful to have it catch the fish for you.
well, maybe but then again if you just store a nutrient block and water bottles as an emergency your usually fine.
Good point. I do like seeing the fish sometimes, too, but I don't have one in my current game.
My seatruck configuration for this game is probably gonna be:
Sleeper Module
Fabricator Module
Storage Module (possibly 2 of)
Prawn Docking Bay (once I get it... and the prawn)
in that order
.
lets go I found a platform with some exterior growbeds on it
this is gonna help my base so much now that I have exterior growbed blueprint
I like it. The storage is near the back for easy access, and it's all useful.
What are you going to plant?
well I want to move my base pretty far away from the arctic kelp and ribbon plants soon so
I'll have to bring some and plant them for my base
Important quastion for me #subnautica-chat
Is this about your base location?
Yes
Good idea. There are also some other useful plants you can get later.
like frost vases and spiral plants?
Yes; antennae plants also give you plenty of food and heal you.
where even are spiral plants
dont want an exact location but just give a general idea of where I should be looking-
Well, there's a cave somewhere in the ||Lilypads||-||Purple Vent||-||Tree Spires|| area, and there are also some in the middle of the ||Tree Spires||. (They don't grow on the ground).
Are you talking about at ||omega outpost||
No, there aren't any there.
Was I overly cryptic?
How do I check biom on ps5
Cant if I remember correctly
You can only access the console on PC
Theres a dev menu for consoles but it'll only let you teleport, spawn in items and thats about it
I'm pretty sure you can use commands on many consoles.
Well yeah but its not simple
You have to run a printbiome command or something like that to actually see what biome your in
Damn it I sailed wrong and now their is some crab octopus tryna
Crab octopus? Are you talking about SN1?
If so leave that in #subnautica-chat, this channel is for BZ-related content only for the most part
True, I suppose. I didn't know that there was another, easier way on a PC.
If you hit F1 on PC you get a menu that shows stuff like coords, biomes, etc. Super easy to use compared to console
Oh, that seems way nicer. Some consoles don't even let you access coordinates.
you're playing a game that produces a high number of frames per second (FPS), it can cause the graphics card to work harder and produce more electrical signals, which can lead to coil whine.
Maxing it to 255 causes coil whine 60fps definitely not 155fps average doesn't either
Huh. Anyway, there's no point to more than 70fps in this game, so turn on FPS cap to generate less heat
Thats what I do
my fps is capped to I think 60 FPS
My monitor can handle 75fps but my PC uh... cant
I’m running on a Steam Deck, I’ve seen it try to go past 90fps in the game, my display goes to 144fps. With everything at high detail it’s quite stunning.
