so, uh, I got an antennae plant fruit to my bio samples base.
Any way I can actually plant it, or I need to go back for some seeds?
I am running back to my base because I got all I needed
You need to get the seeds from the plant
What plant
Cool
I have a perimeter defense system for free so now I can explore without worrying about dying
the only true protection from dying is having a welder in pocket.
where is a spiral plant
deeper. some near sulfurish vents
I find several spiral plants inside the cave area in deep purple vents (where there’s the purple fumaroles that erupt; it’s also where you find the ||fossil excavator artifact||).
Since the area is a bit darker in some places, it can be more difficult to see the spiral plants, but using the highlight feature helps in that regard iirc.
You can also locate spiral plants by going to tree spires and entering one of the large static ventgardens.
once you get a clipping, plant it at base and grow more
No point growing melons like this, right?
Given I can build a large bed with same amount of resources.
I have a lead shortage 😔
scanner room: galena
Yup
The Man Cave has a scanner room but idk if it’s a good one
Just ran into the weird leviathans at the purple vents and I just stood there watching it slaughter the fish that lived there
It never really noticed me
Which?
Below Zero Moment.
Dont know but its mouth splits into four parts
Is it a red dude that likes to give monkey hugs
That’s just Michael he does that sometimes
It never really got hostile with me
making the best portable base you can, just got the sleeper module and am going back to the purple vents to get more module parts
||Fabricator Module is there as well|| I don’t have the sleeper module yet tho
looking for aquarium module and the docking station one
Aquarium is very easily found in ||Lilypads|| and the docking one idk
I just need one more aquarium one
Aquarium you can find in ||lilypads||
Be warned the more modules there are, the slower it goes
Docking one is in ||deep purple vents||
How do I get there
yeah I usually take them all off if I am starting to go into a dangerous area
I have never been to the lilypads where is that
No way how
Found 2 outside of it
I think, I dont know the biomes in this game well
Have you scanned the map from the base at delta island?
Have you not gone to the ||Pilot’s last location???||
truck speed: Full speed with up to 2 modules. 3 if you got the horsepower upgrade.
Just did a while ago
I hate it
That’s right in the lilypads. There’s SOOO much there and basically no harm
Basically everything you need going into late game is right there for you
No harm after you go to the ||base and grab the upgrade for the seatruck||
At least from what I know
No?
Before you enter the caves for the pilot’s last known location, you search the seabed (that’s above the cave systems) to look for aquarium module fragments in lilypads
I mean like after you get the free defence system your more safe than when you got there when you put it in the seatruck
I think I found one while going over
I was so confused on where the seatruck ||afterburner and horsepower|| upgrades were and I thought they were just seatruck fragments 😭
In the lilys
I found both in there
I only have the afterburner
Mainly because I got lost while in the cave for the ||base||
There are ||two bases||
I got to only one?
Look on the Alterra map that u got 👀
should I go back there to get to the second one
Should be in PDA files
what files
I forget if it is needed for the game but I had fun there. I think that’s the only way to get the exterior growbed
I ended up watching Hylian Mom on YouTube, because it was just easier to watch than continue going around in circles in the caves😂
so the place with all the squidsharks is the lilypads
I literally peed my pants
My go to guy is chemical apes
There’s only 2 or 3
Either works, Hylian Mom or Chemical Apes
there were tons it felt like when I was there
Chemical Apes is not the best because he goes to the BEST places, not the SAFEST places
Chemical Apes does videos on like everythings location
I found Hylian Mom explains things a little better but I mean, it’s like most stuff, personal preference
If you have the right equpiment its not that bad
I used to enjoy his vids and then Chemical Apes just got rlly complicated and went to all the places that I’m scared to go to or stuff like that
He got me to go to a few places I was scared of but not anymore
I think he just gets on my nerves a bit now
He’s too experienced and doesn’t rlly get it
He’s not scared like I am
In the first game he just swims past like 3 reapers in the dunes I think
What do you feel like is this games reapers because there is no reaper in bellow zero
The ambience of this game is scarier in my opinion, but only in the thermal vent area and beyond
Thats true, ambience is scarier than some of the leviathans
The cryptosuchus roar is one of, if not the scariest roars of any creature in any game. It just is.
Both games make me feel like I am being watched though I am in a room with no windows and one door that is just a closet and I have walls in every direction so I am in like a 6x6ft area
that and squidshark
Every time I hear it… omg… not only does adrenaline rush come through, but also my reflexes
Both the squid shark and cryptosuchus are weak
I instantly switch to the thing that zaps them and zap the crap out of anything that comes close to me
They are so weak
Found Michael
yeah but its payback for that stupid roar
I walk right next to a leviathan and nothing happens this game is so weird
Michael’s a little angy because Marguerit stole one of his teeth for a prawn suit
the leviathan is running when I did nothing
Not Richard
Richard will go AFTER you
Richard is like the Hikaru of the ocean
That dude scares me
Go see Richard you’ll be in for a surprise
Where are all the prawn fragments there actually kinda tough in this game
They are much easier than in the first
By now I would just be needing cyclops engine fragments
Just go to ||Outpost Zero|| and the ||Mercury II Wreck in the Lilypads (Bow I believe)||
I am going to need to relocate my base my seatruck is too fat to fit into the dock
Alright
Not how it works. Just go up a bit,
Keep the top of the seatruck near the ceiling
My dock is close to a iceberg so the back hits it
That’s extremely inconvenient
My Man Cave would never.
My man cave has the space a man needs 💪
My base is only really a seatruck charger now
My base is SO much more than a seatruck charger
My base is like the optimal hangout place for the homies
Maybe because my seatruck is my base
I got Jeff, myself, my Prune Suit, and my Honda Seavic
not a very fast one
I love making names for the seamoth and seatruck
I cant think of any good names
My Seatruck is named Honda Seavic and in the first game my Seamoth was named Bugatti Searon
Both play on words

Admit that they’re great 🤣🤣
No
Instant report ‼️‼️
Named it after one of my favourite cars in forza
Cool
I named my prawn suit after my fingers. Because they prune in the water. So I call it the Prune Suit. Get it??? Also that’s a cool thing to do
Honda SEAVIC
So I will never by one

Obviously, why would you when you could steal one?
I’m not a thief either
I would pay good money for a Honda Seavic with a Fabricator module and aquarium module
💪
Would you buy an irl Seamoth?
yes
New catch with the aquarium module
If a ||shadow leviathan catches me can I scare it away with seatruck perimeter?||
yes
u can also kill it
I'm not brave enough for that
nah its easy
the first time I did they kept running away from me
the whole time I kept chasing him
How many are there in ||crystal caves||
||1 in purple and 2 in red||
Is seatruck and prawn suite depth module 2 enough to go there
How do you get the kyanite to make depth module mk3
||crystal caves||
Alright, thanks for answering my questions
np
Is there no way to use the ||perimeter module while a leviathan is grabbing you? It just kicks me out of the vehicle||
Also is the information in the wiki wrong or something it says ||shadow leviathan deals 20-35 damage to seatruck but my seatruck got hurt more than that?||
select the perimeter defence then left click it
if your seatruck is low enough
Only time I ever got kicked out of the seatruck was when I was on switch and I was getting buttons confused since they’re opposite of regular controllers. You didn’t change your bindings or anything did you?
You can time the perimeter defense right when the attack is starting so you don’t get any damage done to the seatruck. You should be able to learn pretty quickly how to time it just right
Hey everyone, I may be experiencing a bug, unsure yet if it is gamebreaking.
So I have been playing my current save for about 20 hours (I have not completed BZ before). Quite early on I disabled the communications tower, went back to ||Marguerite’s base and found the door locked and she was not there. I received no prompt on what to do next.|| So I kept playing progressing where I could, and today have done pretty much everything I can and am unsure how to progress the story. So I go back to ||her base, still nothing. So I check the communications tower on the wiki and it says after disabling it, she is meant to contact me and give me some coordinates. However, that never happened…||
Check your PDA, the section where it keeps messages from the game…
Did you not get a message about her calling you ||to meet her 1 km east of the delta island||? You should’ve when you repaired the tower.
Uh, I guess I can check. I’m not in the game but I can load it up
I remember one time I was busy not freezing to death or something and wasn’t able to answer the call. But it was logged in my PDA still.
Hmmm
No worries, you don’t have to check rn, but maybe whenever you have the chance
Well, is that the same if ||you decline a call from Alan? I’ve never actually declined so I don’t know what happens lol||
Yes, it’s basically the same thing. If you don’t answer, or can’t answer, it is logged still in your PDA and you can read it at any time
Did you plug in the TOM to the tower AND go back to the control panel and press the button on that panel?
I know you have to do something at the panel and not just plug in the TOM
Yeah I found the log
Lmao can’t believe I missed that
Ok crisis averted, but I do feel like I have done part of the story out of order
I’m just glad it’s there. Because if it wasn’t there, then I’m not sure how to explain it missing😬
||I put the cure in the frozen leviathan, and Robin said how it was good to have closure about how Sam died… but I don’t know how she died lol. I only found a PDA talking about where Sam hid the cure after finding it myself already||
Yeah and when I loaded up the save just now, I just got some dialogue that is supposed to happen in between those events
Whoops
I missed the PDA for that as well, so don’t feel bad. Apparently there’s a pda near a forklift I’ve still never found (although I’ve heard about it many times, just never gone back to check for it, maybe one day I will😂)
Np
I look forward to continuing the story now
Well, when I play next
I was so worried I would have to start over
Oh, I play on xbox and I did change some things in bindings because one of my buttons don't work. It's not a big deal anyway I just decided to go with prawn suite and it was way better
Also you were correct, I just killed the one in the crystal caves entrance and it was way easier because he has a bigger hitbox
Is ||gas torpedo|| useful in killing leviathans?
There's actually 2 in Crystal Caves, and 2 in Fabricator Caverns, jsyk.
Generally, gas pods are just better. Stasis them, then drop an inventory-full directly obver their heads. Should do the job.
I think you forgot that this is bz
Right, sorry about that lmao.
Lmao
I forgot you use sulfur to make them in BZ.
Prawn with grapple is probably the way to go.
I don't believe so, at least not for the work required to make it.
It's generally not worth it.
Alright
The prawn with normal arm and grapple doesn't use resources and is more effective.
Does the leviathan attack if you're stuck to it via grappler arm?
It can do, but the main use of the grapple in that situation is to hang to deal damage longer.
You're not likely to find a way to kill it that doesn't involve some measure of risk.
What levi are you trying to kill?
I hope not the Ice Worm lol 🤣
Nah lol it was shadow leviathan
I don't use grappler arms anyway
I spam both normal handa at the same time
Though it would be cool if ice worms were killable
building in ||red crystals|| is so complicated
i have to turn left right left right and go up and down
argh
yeah i saw you did something on steam screenshots section
i'm doing similar thing but in ||red crystals||
i've done that in purple crystals already and wanted to build one here aswell
yeah
Does the Shadow Levi get stuck on your base?
uh it got once
because i was outside and he wanted to attack me and as soon as i entered moonpool he didnt know what was happening and couldnt return to his path
Yeah, happens to me too
Then he died from collision damage, and I had to clear the CellsCache 😵💫

Are you making a metal spaghetti base?
i am satisfied with that view and i'll leave that compartement here but i want it to swim above large room
yes
can anyone tell me why couldnt sn team add glass floor
it would be so cool
Omg, you're right, why did I think of that.
That's a great idea, but alas...
I'd suspect it's because its more work and bases would be build closer to the ground than the ceiling anyways.
subnautica team pls hire me
oops
forgot to spoiler it
nahhh bruh i have to go even lower
and he almost ate me
🗿
what is that
that is a game spoiler, is what it is. why did you click
Lmao
ok it's a minor spoiler. that's a ||shadow leviathan||
oh really?
they have no face. Actually similar in some ways to Noface from spirited away
I actually refer to them as friends-who-enjoy-very-close-hugs.
they are trying to push you into its belly. Canned snack
to be honest i could notice nothing but now, i see a body with no face.
mmmm...
It has a face, as in rows of eyes.
The mouth is on the bottom, by the bioluminescent jaws.
I build a base near one where it glides overhead.
or, it just opens its tummy directly
Is the Stasis Rifle in Below Zero
cheats only
Just killed ||2 shadow leviathans in crystal caves, I think that's all. Time for fabricator caves||
bruh how
Go to it with a prawn suite and two normal arms (each one deals 50 damage per hit). Once it attacks you, you're close to it. Attack as much as you can and then go a bit far and repair your prawn suite. And then repeat
That's how I do it
Takes a bit but worth
Wish we had the Damage Reduction Module
You can survive three strikes from it if I'm not wrong. But to assure my safety i repair it after the first
You can try repairing after the second
To the fight i goo
tatakeeeee
Or now that I think about it you will most likely die in the third strike
The damage is a bit random
Did you have to swap batteries?
No but I did end up with 28% charge left
I was using both normal batteries
I'd suggest bringing two extra power cells
Actually wait this was just for one of them. If you meant for both of them then you do need to either charge batteries or swap them
If you have a thermal reactor you can park somewhere hot and safe and charge your power cell
By the way a question for people who completed the game ||am I done with crystal caves after getting the body component there? Or is there something important there and I need to go back||
There's an ||endgame facility|| down there, direction ||east||
I'm guessing I need ||all body components before going there. Right?||
correct
Gotta get the last one for me then
Oh boy||arctic spires|| will be fun to explore....
Can’t you go there ||before collecting all three||
||Arctic Spires level design is bad, you can get up on the outer layers where you aren’t really supposed to go||
You can, but it's pointless
I skipped ||the bridge||
Yes
no
I would imagine it shouldn't be too hard with foundations or the prawn.
you passed it another way? you may want to open the shortcut, starting from a cave with an elevator
exits east of the phi dock by the end of the big cable
yes, opens from the inside only
||I went up from around the position where Phi Labs is||
Ah there's two shortcuts then, including the ||teleport||
but you can't take the prawn thru that one
Is there acommand to spawn stuff like in game 1 ?
Could i remind me the one for the items?
it's "item"
i don't understand why anyone would want to explore the ||artic spires|| with the prawn given how large the area is though.
Nah i meanthow totype the command
how to get the input? Shift-enter on PC
You can bunny hop the Prawn
using any command disables achievements for this save.
The grapple arm makes it easy.
I was just about to go there with the prawn
Snowfox is pain to control
When the command appears i just write item name?
Prawn is great for that, it doesn't take a ton of damage.
hm, never knew that.
seems more like a bug than an actual feature though.
How much damage does ||the ice worm deal to prawn suite?||
Yes, but some items have name different than their in-game titles, i.e. Ion Cube is "PrecursorIonCrystal"
yes, "item precursorioncrystal 8" with an optional count
if that's the main reason why there's so much hate for the snowfox then i can kind of understand it now.
Use the jet pack to propel you of the ground, you gain speed, on land you are basically instantly on the ground, repeat
item snowstalkerfur 4
Ty
using any command disables achievements for this save.
Yeah dont realy care about achievements tbh just wanna finish the game and died to many times getting tht fur
✨save editing✨💖
very, very difficult. but there is an easy way
It doesnt actualy interefere with story and stuff right? Just achievements?
this: QmodManager enables achievements again, as a side effect
right
I just killed a snow stalker with my prawn suite and got more than enough fur
You just have to kill the small ones
Is there a list for commands somewhere?
no.
the round tunnel caves it made, yes
Oh shoot
It was made by ice worm itself?
How am I still alive
Does it not attack you if you're inside a prawn suite or something
it does...
Guess I'm lucky then
have you guys ever noticed that creatures stop attacking you if you stand inside the seatruck but dont pilot it
Huh never tried that
actually I think I remember seeing it in a video but never wanted to make sure
even leviathans just forget you exist the moment you stop piloting it and stand there
By the way how does the ||thumper exactly help with ice worms?||
i have never used it but i think it attracts them to it so you can do other things
i could be wrong though
Interesting
no, it keeps them away. But since the thumper stays there, eating battery, it's not very useful
ah ok
it should have wheels, and follow you around. that'd be nice
cant you just pick it up and place it somewhere else
you can
also have yall noticed that the prawn suit above water reaches mach 12 with a large jump
i literally traveled 200 meters by jumping off an iceberg
how deep before prawn suit gets crushed?
with no depth upgrades it has 400m limit
heavily nerfed from first game lol
how deep first game?
||Any leviathans near artifact pk8?||
Hold on I’ll check where it is
@graceful pine there might be a guy near it
Yeah, I will just zap it to death or till it just goes away
1000 ish
Just waiting for it to be day so I can actually see
So yes there is a leviathan around it
Just saw it
Those are not that bad
I went right next to one and it did not get mad at me
did it look like ||big red shrimp?||
Yeah I know what one it is its just annoying to spell
Chelicerate!
zap it
when he starts biting you, use your perimiter defence
yes
No I used my ability to go forward very fast
also works
||wait the pk8 isnt actually near delta lol||
Its like 1200m away
it is in east arctic yeah
it's in the "arctic", just a straight hole down, guarded by shrimp salad
there are ||two ground samplers|| right? that got me confused
possibly more
Im unstoppable now I have ||ion power cell unlocked||
yea may be
I can stay in the seatruck for way longer now
i found two
very good
2,5 times more power than normal power cell i believe
What does the ||quantum locker ||do
no, 5 times. But you will do well with just one ion power cell
||quantum locker|| is a portable enderchest.
||if you place two lockers, basically teleports items from one to another||
two are more usable for me
so a ender chest pretty much
yes
if i need to grab a lot of stuff and i ran out of inventory space and sea truck inventory i just place one, take materials for other one and build it in place where i need to
yeah as meatie said
Just heard a chelicerate behind me
I just turn around and all of the things behind me are dead
Uhhh end game question: ||where is the entrance to fabricator caves? I thought it was the same area as where you find the component but the area is full of crystals everywhere I can't tell if I'm lost or there isn't any entrance there||
||East end of crystal caves, it goes red. Depth is about 700 I think, target is at depth 960 ||
How does the end of crystal caves look like 😅?
Nevermind
I found it. Thanks
Phew, ||just killed the first shadow leviathan there... It was kind of challenging. But I got lucky and it was stuck in a perfect place where I can hit it and it can't reach me||
||killed the second. The area is now safe, right?||
yes. There was no need for this violence
Could someone remind me what did that old lady told me to do
sabotage that radio tower somehow. Clue in PDA at the base of it
more revealing: ||build a test override module and plug it into the tower||
I am too scared from getting jumpscared out of nowhere xd
||shadow leviathans|| went extinct now in my world. I don't think I regret it
They had enough hugs
Do i need to find and scan the parallel processing unit to get the test override module?
Yes
Yeah i need to find last frag of laser cutter
PDA is an angry note about bird poop being corrosive
Being playing for 9 hours and didnt find anything that terrfied me yet
Where are the big levianthens at
tree spires, east of purple vents, etc
I am not responsible for the coming extinction event
The chelicerates would like to say hi
Would be cool if these things did something other than having loot
What it that? Is that spoiler 😢
I know that!
Is the best entrance to the ||Crystal Cave place down from marguerit’s base?||
best? It's one of two. Whichever you pick, drop a beacon at the entrance
I don’t have a beacon to ||either of marguerit’s base or the Crystal caves entrance||
make them. Make many.
Always carry one. One more reason: if you die, it will rename and drop
I usually rely on memory
BRRR wrong
The lily pads is the COOLEST place in my opinion so I like to keep it as environmentally safe and beautiful as I can. With as little beacons as possible
well you can toggle them on/off. And beacons are cheap
I was thinking about moving my Man Cave there but it’s kind of useless at this point because I feel like I’m getting farther and farther into the game
Is going to the ||Glacial Basin|| required in the game? If so, do you HAVE to go near ice worms?
yes. Yes.
Both yes?
That’s a little butt. But at least it’s not underwater 😭
When do you get the beacon to the glacial basin
the dock at least
when you go to the dock and walk west a little bit
Which dock
And erm, underwater is a blessing. Because it keeps you from freezing.
When do u get the location to the dock
Phi dock
…
it's kinda north along the coast, has a small radio mast
if you just see a very tall wall of ice, go north
Well, you could also look at the map you can scan on delta station and try to search alterra bases with that...
Do I have to go through that tunnel thing to get there or no
In the ice?
Where is a good spot for a base, I always struggle finding a base location in subnautica
These are subjective but I usually decide on a place in this order:
- Scenery. Making sure the views are nice is crucial.
- Space. Gotta make sure there's enough space for a proper base.
- Convenience. Ready access to essential resources is always a plus.
Southern part of the Twisty Bridges, Lillypads/Deep Lillypads, Tree Spires, and Glacial Bay are my preferred biomes.
A functional base should be reasonably central to your travels. A scenic base can be anywhere you find an enjoyable view. Again, very subjective.
ice worms are no concern
get a prawn with grapple and you outrun them
(and can go out of bounds but thats risky)
What’s out of bounds
I just have it in a safe location that is also very cool
past the invisible walls into the flat snow
you can cheat your way past most land bits that way but you may get stuck and loose your prawn or save depending on where youre stuck
You can usually grapple on the underside of the terrain if you fall through.
My priorities:
1: The worst possible scenery, I want to make HR Giger uncomfortable
2: as claustrophobic as possible, I want laying out a base to be atrisinal and bespoke just to fit.
3: inconvenience, most aggressive predators, forced to lay all of my own infrastructure and have to dodge said predators regularly.
Other than that samsies as you Bumble.
Lol
Try inside of one of lava vents.
That is a very small base
Man has a 1 meter base
You wanted clautrophobic
I'm not even exaggerating, that is in my top 3
You can’t though.
It’s way to small, not even sure if there’s space inside, the hit box might just block it.
There is one you can stack corridors in
It might just function as terrain.
A thermal vent?
Or lava geyser?
Like a big lava pit, the ||precursor generator|| is in it
oh, that one would be classy.
I was thinking one of hot spots near delta island, there is a spot with crevice and two lava pools. enough for couple corridors.
Oh I though you meant Hydrothermal Vent.
I'd rather have active geysers like jellyshroom in base game had
nah, you can sunbathe on those
These nerds.
I don't have my forever home in below zero yet
In cave systems underwater?
I have a forever home with a forever friend.
It's more broiling
I agree, not much tan there.
The animal I vibe with in bz is the lobster thing
Which is what people call survival games
Lmao
Forgot I hatched squidshark eggs, containment was full of them. Had to build a bio reactor to put them to use…. 😂
i wish we could put the seatruck in SN
I wish the BZ map was bigger so we could have the cyclops.
the devs condemned porting items from game to game on a public mod
Backport everything. Discover a secret passage connecting the two maps. Release it as Subnautica: Alterra Edition
@plush anvil Hey I saw that you were looking for Ventgardens.
There's one in the Tree Spires.
im not, someone else was and asked in #subnautica-chat
Oh ok, sorry then.
You too!
thanks!
Can u attach || the seatruck with the seatruck bedroom thing? ||
Yes
can someone rate my base
4/5
/
Hey can anyone tell me where to make the compartments on the seatruck
Thank you
Boi where are your plants
outside
Put some inside. Don't you have plants in your house IRL?
Needs a few pinball machines.
i got 1
any advice on where should i build my first base?
First base I generally build something near the life/drop pod. Nothing fancy.
I tend to build small bases as I go, expand one when I figure out where I’m spending more time.
i have a small base only made of compartment just for storage near my drop pod but want to build a base where strategic for mid game
What’s there
I know there’s an ||ice worm testing area, from early access days|| somewhere outside the normally reachable playable area, but I’ve never visited it lol. I’ve only seen other peoples’ pics of it😂
You should scan a snow stalker and check its description
Hoping to get below zero soon cuz it's on discount
soon as in 5 minutes. Nice
Just finished the game...
||the ending was amazing, I like it more than the first. Some people said this game is a bad sequel but I definitely disagree||

Subnautica 3 is confirmed. Right?
Not with that name. We don't know
well yeah the game is under develompent but while it is 3rd version of SN, it probably won't be called SN3
well we dont know
I didn't mean it will be called subnautica 3. I should've worded better
It will take ages for sn 3
Bcs they are rewriting the code
For multiplayer and other reasons
yes, ripping out Unity code and rewriting for Unreal. And new tools
Multiplayer not confirmed, Unreal 5 is.
I'm I'm excited for it man
Since early access has been a big positive, we will probably see that again. Sitting in EA for a long time
My own theory there
Bruh below zero ain't on discount anymore on ps5 god damnit
You missed it, til next time
Yeah
Has anything official came out about the fate of Riley from Subnautica and the character from below zero?
Only official things are in the game. So no.
No.
I think Riley made money on talkshows
Riley made the planet safe to land on, he should have negotiated that and made trillions back.
Is there just 2 or 3 of these || parallele fragement thing in mercury 1 ? ||
mercury I doesnt exists in BZ
||mercury II however||
Well yeah what ever ship they have in this game
yes you can find more than 3
More then 3 ?
i believe you need to scan 3 of them
There are 2 ships right?,
one ship, three wrecks
One u find early game and one next to that || old lady ||
The ship is next to these purple volcano?
yes
other one is in ||lilypads||
I guess that ship has many entrance then will check it out
i'd suggest going to ||lilypads mercury II wreck|| you can find three of parallel processing unit
and a small surprise :)
Before having my laser cutter
the biome south-east from delta island
dont click if you dont want to see map diverted into biomes
i turned everything off except for biomes if you want to see where it is
I cannot find a window to scan for the life of me. Been to Delta and Phi so far and they wouldn’t let me scan those windows for some reason. Where can I find one to scan?? I miss having windows in my bases lol
uhhhh
i dont remember scanning windows
||crystals base completed, might add few more stuff later on but this is it for now||

i have an idea
there is one place in ||red crystals|| where you can see both shadow levis
tunnel time
i hear both of them
Is building a base on top of these || green lily pad || a smart or dumb idea @viral knot
is that a good place for you? do you need a base there? do you travel around that place/to that place quite a lot?
Idk for all questions 😂
lol
i think base in lilypads wouldnt be a bad idea
Is there like an optimal / cool place?
Lilypads is a great location for a base
I don’t build on top of the lilypads myself but I know people have done it to build very nice above/below water bases
Do i need just one || parallel processing thing || ?
You scan 3 of them in order to build the ||TOM||
I remember scanning a window, not sure now where it was though... Possibly Zero?
||me||
Why does it look like it’s graduating high school
bros graduating his whole life🗿
Hmmm I’ll check it out, thanks!
the 120m deep spot in twisty bridges with the large o2 tank has a window
Oh yeah, forgot about that one.
I'm at the end of my second playthrough. ||Don't want to build Al-An's body. || I've gotten used to having some dialog going.
Huh I haven’t found that yet. I’ll have to look around, thanks!
in twisty canyon, small building. exactly 120m
I need to check the wiki, I don't think I ever came up with all of them.
Yeah, I don't have all of them... Something to do tonight. 😉
||After building Alans body do the leviathans respawn 💀 ||
no. Assuming you removed them
Ok normal subnatica is easy but this one is hard
no it isn't harder
both games are quite easy once you've played enough to know what you need to do tbh
By the way, I HATE the land portions of Below Zero. They're pretty enough I guess, but they're mostly empty labyrinths that mostly look the same and if that wasn't enough, half the time you can't see 2 feet in front of you thanks to the weather. Worst of all, that's all not including the fact that you have no minimap. That's fine for the underwater sections, but in a land labyrinth, far from the sea and with weather that's constantly destroying your visibility in an already ultra confusing maze, it is so easy to get turned around and hopelessly lost. An appropriate song to listen to while you're navigating the land biomes is Circles by Post Malone, because you WILL be running in circles, particularly in the Glacial Basin and Arctic Spires.
Worst level design ever, and with none of the tools you need to help you navigate it, either. If I were a level design teacher, I'd give the land biomes in this game a F grade.
that is a you problem, the only time i got lost was the first time i explored there and since then i have never had issues navigating it
Don't get me wrong, I can blunder around and find what I need just fine, there's a map that shows the ideal route through the Basin, but all the hidden side content and stuff is not only hard to get to, but when you find it, it's very hard to find your way back again.
not for me, and i havent really seen anyone else who has a big problem with it. Besides i never even used that map before to help me
Also, by the way, it's called the Basin for a reason. The Eye Jelly narrow route from Hell to an interior "basin" dock still exists, but thankfully, they added a more accessible route in.
i just think it would be a little harsh to say its the worst level deign ever when you are having issues that other people dont have
skill issue™️
Weather can certainly be an issue. But you need to explore and find navigation markers for reference. A scanner room and beacons are always helpful.
There's a reason you aren't a level design teacher
It's cause you can't tell what good level design is 💀
Like brother your meant to feel like your surviving with Robin and exploring and getting lost is just part of the experience
You a loser lil bro 🗿
Not to mention that their are multiple things you could've done to help yourself if you were stuck in that situation
chill
Arctic spire’s design needs more work, but otherwise I have no issues with any of the biomes.
I don’t like the fact that its literally just a maze, but I love Below Zero regardless. I agree with the arctic spires part.
Stupid weather cycle being sped up and the Weather Station being cut. The Weather station would have made dealing with weather a LOT easier. I wish they would have kept the original weather cycling speed and the calmer weathers, both of which were changed and cut respectively.
Spires is annoying because you are simultaneously both lost out of your mind, and thanks to how the biome is shaped, bound to come across the points of interest sooner or later, even while completely and utterly lost, but in between the interest points, you're quite often going in circles time and again. It is so annoying. Also, the Ice Worm is a stupid and annoying mechanic, that feels unfinished, robotic, and immersion-breaking (but I repeat myself. A creature in a game that feels like exactly what it is, a computer program masquerading as a creature, is seriously immersion breaking).
Just completed game, insane game devs, so so good, thanks for creating such a masterpiece!
||wait until Leviathan was in the first subnautica where was it and the other Leviathan that's dead from thousands of years ago where's that now in second one||
My bad 😭
how do i use the goal and goalreset commands for the following: ||i transferred alan into his body, and now i have the phase gate nav marker. but i remembered that i still need alan inside my head so i can get the pda entries for the remaining actions like for finding the leviathan. ||
and yes, the story command does nothing to reset the unwanted progress i made. ||tried it out, but the fabricator just made an invisible body, hinting that alan is still at the gate and not in my head||
also, is there a way to delete pda dialogue entries?
Literally a you problem. Maybe arctic spires has bad design BUT not knowing where to go while hearing ||ice worm|| screams was definitely an amazing experience for me
I actually wonder
Do subnautica and subnautica below zero happen at the same time?
Or is below zero a sequel?
Below Zero takes place two years after the events of Subnautica
below zero happens after SN1
Ohhh
Okay
I loved my first time ||running for my life from the ice worm|| last night.
I love the feeling when ||you're running away from some giant thing chasing you. Happened to me a lot in the first game with sea dragon||
ima be honest ||ice worms arent even scary because as long as you dont sit still they never get to you||
Yessss it’s the best. Literally running and telling myself not to look back over and over. I kind of wish they added a look back button in the game for when you’re getting chased.
I learned this the hard way hiding in a cave 😂
The ||screams are enough honestly. Also them popping out of nowhere to eat a snow stalker||
I guess I'm insanely lucky because i was standing in a cave for a while and nothing happened to me. Only heard screams
How do they fit in the cave
in some caves ||the ice worm actually appears above the cave rather than inside it so that is probably what happened||
Oh
I was standing in a pretty big cave in the basin when ||the ice worm shout out of the wall directly behind me|| and gave me a kiss on the back of my head.
hmm, Yes & no
SN also has very little guidance where to go for story. You are meant to explore to solve it. Both games
yeah BZ gives a lot more direction
Well, basic level design 101 is either make sure any vehicle that can be used in the level is balanced for the level, or disallow it by some manner. The Prawn Suit is scarily overpowered for the land biomes, the only threats of Snow Stalkers and Ice Worms are pretty useless against it. Snow Stalkers are only good against the player on foot, not even on the garbage Snow Fox, while the Ice Worm has significant trouble even being summoned by the Prawn Suit, and with a grappling arm the Prawn Suit can clear an area that it does summon a Ice Worm long before the Ice Worm’s animations have a chance to play.
wait the whole story game got rewriten?
Since there are large mineral deposits on land that need the drill arm to collect, the level was certainly designed with the prawn in mind.
Yup, original head story writer for BZ got fired and they hastily threw together what scraps they could from already developed content.
i was watching sum old bz content cuz i finished and i just noticed something else
the story seemed really cool tbh
whyd he get fired
Not in the Basin. The Spires yes, but the Ice Worm evidently did not get checked to make sure that it functioned correctly for, and posed a significant threat to, the Prawn Suit. Neither are true. Half the time the Prawn’s movement continuously on the floor of the biome doesn’t spawn it anyways, and even when it does, it’s a bit of a case of “catch me if you can, I’m the gingerbread man.” The Ice Worm’s animations are too sluggish, the grappling arm allows the Prawn to get out of dodge too fast.
Also, that’s not even accounting for the new Sprinting feature of the Prawn Suit, which makes that previous statement even more true!
You’re operating on the assumption that the Subnautica devs weren’t aware of this.
I find it extremely difficult to believe that this was not a known “issue”.
Am I the only one who likes BZ better than the original subnautica
I believe it was left in on purpose.
Whether they know this or not doesn’t change the fact that it’s an issue, and completely nullifies the entire biome.
No, I personally prefer the original, but people have different opinions, you do you.
That’s your opinion, I find it perfectly fine.
I never use the grappling arm.
Yeah overall I think subnautica is a better game but I enjoy playing below zero better if that makes sense
I did too, because it’s more Subnautica that I haven’t explored yet.
I agree, I don’t get why BZ gets a lot of hate, granted I like the first one better, but that doesn’t mean BZ isn’t good.
It’s just hard to beat SN1
I really like the story aspect of below zero. The original is just straight forward: escape the planet
I find it the other way around personally, you don’t know what you have to do, and keep uncovering more secrets.
Both are great, just in different ways.
BZ is just, find out about your sister.
Exactly. I feel like it was so much easier to beat bz, which was a bummer for me. Late game below zero was, in my opinion, kind of a joke in terms of resource farming. Like once I got my depth modules I went down to the deepest biomes and didn’t even need to farm anything unlike the original where I needed to farm lots of resources
Maybe it’s different for other people but for me that’s how it was
I meant deepest* biomes
I like the Jukebox, the new Ion Tech, the Mercury II and the idea of the Sea Truck. I hate the lack of map size, uninteresting Leviathans, the hodgepodge story, the constant training wheels and hand-holding, and the terrible execution of the Sea Truck. I mean, darn, if they could at LEAST get that rear view mirror to work again, or get some kind of cameras like the Cyclops, it would be a LOT easier to navigate the Sea Truck through the tight caves of BZ.
i played bz first but subnautica is way better, it has much more biomes, bigger story and u can go much much deeper, theres just more to it. bz has cool graphics tho and is cleaner
I agree with all of those and obviously this is different for most people but I like that the leviathans aren’t really scary. I get scared pretty easily and maybe that’s a reason I like BZ better
I think the levis are really cool actually.
ngl getting scared and jumped are a huge part of subnautica
Other than the Chelicerate , cool design, but executed poorly.
bz leviathjans r weak and subnautica leviathans r very scary
Not only are they not scary, they’re also annoyingly bland and both have a copy-pasted grab attack. Even the Squidshark has an annoying grab attack.
The Shadow Levi and Ice Worm are really cool, just not incredibly dangerous.
But for me, it was way easier to avoid leviathans in the original subnautica. In below zero I feel like i never really knew where they were, especially the chelicerate s
Annoying doesn’t mean bad.
Like in my subnautica play through I never encountered a reaper
I feel like Indiana Jones. “Grab attacks, why does it always have to be grab attacks!”
tahts crazy lucky
Lol
Yeah like the shadow leviathan is impossible to avoid
Not really
Is actually understandable if you don’t go anywhere weird.
i got a pda message saying there r multiple leviathans in area, r u sure u wanna do tis?
It was easy to know where they were
Then you leave.
and also the sea emperor.
I have hardly any trouble navigating with the sea truck, and I have 5 storage modules, fabricator, and docking module with the prawn attached.
But overall below zero is definitely over hated. I don’t think as an overall game it is as good as subnautica but it’s closer than most would think. I enjoyed my below zero experience more mainly because of the story
Yeah exactly idk what people talking about, I found the sea truck also easy to navigate
i enjoted bz cus its clean, the story is too easy to complete and is short
A larger map definitely would have been nice.
the whole margs story line is optional
So is curing the frozen beast.
But the story being easy to complete isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I do agree it is shorter than the original game
styory short means u complete it faster
when u conmplete it faster theres nothing rly to do u just get bored
I know that’s why I said i agree it is shorter. The story being easy isn’t always a bad thing
Show-off, LOL. I would also appreciate if every time, EVERY time, I gave a stray vine a gentle love tap that did no damage, didn’t generate a LOUD glass-breaking sound.
I definitely was never bored
Unless u beat the game and have done everything you need to do, then being bored in either subnautica game is your fault
Some random banter with AlAn and Robyn would be nice that isn’t story related. So much dead space while exploring that AlAn doesn’t care about.
dont get me wrong bz is an amazing game but i wish there was more to it, i felt kinda unfullfilled when i finished it
subnatuica story is much longer and interesting than bz
Your right about this for sure. The ending definitely was not as satisfying as the original, but at least it sets up for a third game
yeah i mean bz is a sequel u cant rly blame them
I get those sounds too, but hardly any damage, if at all. All cured when I dock it next time.
overall 9/10 game ngl fair rating u cant blame me
I almost never have to get the repair tool out for the sea truck.
Agreed…
call me werid but i played bz first then the originlal subnautica (im still completing subnautica)
You’re weird. 😂
heard theres a multiplayer in 3.0 i cant wait
Nothing is confirmed that I know of.
Yeah playing bz first would be crazy confusing
Some of the parts of the story would make no sense
My friend refused to try the first one because “there’s a newer one” lol
So frustrating
It happens.
nah i got along pretty well, gave me a different perspective to the game
Will make playing through BZ again later more enjoyable probably.
AL-AN for most of the game, including intense portions: “I sleep.” AL-AN when you scan a random artifact, marked on your map or not: “Ooh ooh ooh! What’s that!? I’ll never talk about that directly, even though I should know full well what it is and what it’s doing there and why, instead, it’s time for ZANY talking about me!” The player: “Literally shut up Al-An, nobody cares. Why couldn’t you commentate on the rare intense moment instead of during these nothingburgers?”
I love base building in all games I play like Minecraft, terraria, etc so I loved all the new things to build in BZ
i went minimalistic in bz and kinda made a medium-large base in subnautica
Or maybe he could have said something useful, something like We bio engineered that species, etc, etc, if you toss it a Noot fish it will be your best friend and guard your base.
Like having a bathroom in subnautica is awesome 😂
yall want to see the bases?
Sure
my base in bz, very minimalistic, just a control room, multiporpise room, moonpool anmd seatruck dock
Not to mention, the zany talking about himself usually devolves into cringe, abstract poetry that’s at best at a second or third grade level and treats both the player and a super intelligent brainiac of an alien like they were born yesterday.
i had everything in that 1 multiporpiuse room
wait imma send ma subnautica base too
im jus stuck in lost river
and tis my base in subnautica
very different bases
Both nice.
I tend to stack rooms at my main base for the alien containment. And usually have multiple for when I’m breeding one particular species.
Yes. I breed a bunch then release them outside my base for better scenery.
Are there only 2 ||prawn fragments at outpost zero||
i literally put random cool creatures inside the alien containment 💀
In SN I had large swarms of some of the prettier fish around my base. In BZ, I’ve got a large batch of Pengwings going.
I think that’s right.
Ok ty
More at ||Koppa|| when you get there. Plus an upgrade.
Is there 2 there aswell
I’m not crazy about how that worked in BZ, when you’ve got an entire thing in front of you, but you can only scan a fragment.
I can’t help but notice you have not one, but two power cell chargers.
Heading there next
yes
The question is why?
Not sure, but at least one I know.
You need about 0.
i dont have kyanite yet
its a subnautica base not bz
yes
Nothing against having multiple chargers. I’ve done that before.
i use moonpool for seatruck and prawn as u see i got 2 moonpools, in bz i got a moonpool and a seatruck dock
but in subnautica cyclops takes alot of power
LoL
when leviarthan atacks me in subnautica i need like 10 power to defend myself
so i need dem chargers
SN I charge mine in the LZ, but have chargers in my base still.
Do you think i could get through it with high capacity tank, seaglide and rebreather
And I always have supplies to build a base with a charger anywhere I go, usually.
in subnautica ||cyclops is a portable base||
It’s hard getting to the bottom and back and doing too much. But you can scout around some and get back to the entrance. If your sea truck is parked there.
I will often put a small base halfway down with bio power and have a plant growing, makes a good stopping point for air.
True, but you still need to make sure you can keep it charged.
Before the thermal upgrade, you need chargers.
Prawn will just charge it
If you dock the prawn, and swap out the cells, you can charge it fine
A Prawn will charge two cells faster, anyways.
Managed to get both the prawn and its drill
Got out with plenty of o2 to spare

Winning!
Oh, my base halfway down the mine I also put a fabricator in, helps condense down the items I’m bringing back up, saves space, fewer trips.
Yeah, with the Recylotron, saving space is a lot easier.
Totally. Really wish that would have been ported over to SN.
Yeah.
Any math majors here?
If I want a full sphere coverage for scanners, what is the maximum distance I can build them from each other?
They have range of 500m at full upgrade, and I suppose its a sphere?
- On a flat plane, I would just arrange them in triangle (hexagonal) grid.
Knowing that hexagons are made from eqaliteral triangles, I just need to find the triangle height (a * sqrt(3) /2), and since there are two triangles, its just [scanner range] * sqrt(3) -> ~ 866m - In a 3d plane, I need to account for "missing" cone between the 3 flat scanners, so can put the 4th one at most R from the point all remaining scanners meet. the distance to each scanner to that point is conveniently also R, so the final distance from one scanner to another creates a half-square triangle, and final distance is sqrt(2) * R -> ~ 707m
Does this sound correct?
The range definitely seems spherical in my experience. Your drawing looks good, and I think your distance is pretty close, but not sure on the formula to be sure. Trig and I never got along.
Problem is that you’re never going to be able to place them exactly at various depths, so you’d need to have them a bit closer in general. And beacons on each one to find them later. And each will need their own power, and deeper ones that may be a challenge unless you run bio and you’re ok with power running out.
holy.
Wouldn't it be like tetrahedron, and basically each of the 4 scanners have equal distance to each other?
Serious question: Should I get Below Zero? I already played Subnautica "1" and wanted to know if I should even play Below Zero for the lore or any content. I have to run the game with resolution mods to even run the game at 20-30 fps for the first game. Is Below Zero more taxing on low end laptops compared to the first game or no? Is it better or does it have better or more content?
Resolution should be little better iirc. I would play it. The general response is that it isn’t as good as SN1, but I find that it’s still a new, refreshing dive into 4546B, and is still full of mysteries to uncover.
Bruh wtf
The game goes from a farming simulator to a hardcore survival game when u meet || that shadow leviathen in that purple crystal place its first leviathen ive encoutered after 10 hours of game play ||
|| is there anything to do in crystal looking place apart from getting ressources? Like an alien place or something ||
yes, two locations
yes, the red crystal cave to do soomething, i wont tell you, and another cave to a temple, i still wont tell you because it wll ruin the fun.
@pseudo hare i tooka risk with just my 600 m seatruck and dived solo with my ultra tank capcity down to 830 and i found || the architect body thing ||
Is the other thing even deeper?
you found the entrace to a cave? or the red crystals things?
U mean purple? If purple yes i found it and i scanned the architect thing
no. red.
good, good. Yes, it's deeper. You don't need it until you have 3 body parts.
if you found the cave entrace with purple/blue crystals, then you found the last temple
you can upgrade it now, I think
after you found all the 3 parts, and you have the items to craft them, you will find a exit to that cave with a open space, and from that go straight till you see a red crystal cave, it is supposed to be on your right. be AWARE! there will be another shadow leviathan there.
And game ends?
i cant tell you, but you will find ouy. ( you are very very close)
Ok hope there is more to it cause i didnt see a single coool looking creature yet
Apart from shadow leviathen
not really. i got stuck in that cave, without knowing what to do. also i didnt told anything about the story or smth, beside the fact that cave was the last temple.
the coolest creature is small-ish
Sea monkey? Whale?
there are, but i wont tell you... + they arent as horror as subnautica was
wont tell you
I realy s3
😊 💀
me too... bz was kinda boring... the map was too small, too much land
i cant wait to see the graphics..... bet my pc will catch on fire
if it uses a v5 engine im done
UE5 is very, very well optimized
you don't even have to do any work for that to happen (I think)
I actually wish there was more land but also more, much more ocean.
||Warning. Entering ecological dead zone. The prospect for survival is fast approaching zero.||
Question. Could you use the prawn suit grapple arm and speed boost to get across the bridge
I’m not gonna try just curious
anyone tryna play multiplayer wit me
They have a multiplayer mod for below zero?
I think they’re working on one, but there isn’t one available currently
Oh
its in development
I agree with this but below zero was still a pretty good game. (I platinumed it on ps4) tho the story could have been better
i dmed you if you want to try the mod
oh ok
I heard here a bit ago someone had done a speed run of BZ in 30 minutes. I just played for an hour and barely had a small base going and only had the sea glide as my main transport so far…
i dont think i would have nearly enough time to get the items needed to explore everything and then craft everything
I wrote a list of the main things I’d need. But by the time I got a few tools together, scanned a fabricator, then back to the pod to make one, I had almost an hour into it. Going to try again though and see what I could do.
Has anybody here totally completed the pda in below zero or the original game
That’s what I’m trying to do in BZ. Hardest thing to do right now is scanning the Chelicerate, unless there is a separate scan for the void chelicerate- is there?
Was that ||unknown woman Marg Maida??||
With snowfox and jump module you can cross the bridge without repairing it, but since the materials needed for hydraulic fluid are quite common, I don't see much point in not repairing it...
Why did Subnautica pick out the strangest ending for BZ? I know there was one being made where you were stopped by an Alteria war ship.
So i just || made the architect body and met him at portal and told me to follow him ... i already cured the lev and met marguerite 3/4 times anything else i could do before going with him? ||
you can load the save after the end
Yeah but is there anything else to do ?
probably not
What's the best use for my first ion cubes?
ion battery for seaglide
one ion power cell for the truck
If you don't have these recipes, I believe the solution is to scan more artifacts
Good ideas. 👍 Thanks. 🙂
||who blew up omega lab, was it sam or Marguerit||
Is there any way to access the upgrade panel of a seatruck docked in a seatruck dock?
can someone help me i dont know what to do in the story and i just returned playing after a long time
I just started
I'm trying to find materials
I can't find table coral or gel sacks
Or the damn habitat builder
Save often. Explore everything. This game is about exploration. Sea monkeys may annoy you a lot; just hide your tool (PC: press E). Bring a beacon everywhere. New beacon feature: if you have one and die, it will rename and drop.
The air bladder is now really good. Pin recipes you plan to make.
Have fun. Spoiler free starter guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-GhqzEfMOA
Intended for true beginners who never played the original Subnautica - covering starting tools & equipment, food & water and your PDA.
no
im beyond the start
i have my snowfox and everything
but alan makes me go to places
but idk what to do or how to
table coral: twisty bridges canyon, 50-100m down. Builder tool: same, 120m exactly by a little building. Gel sacks, deep twisty, below 300m. You can swim, there are many o2 plants. But you probably need rebreather
Thank you so much
It was annoying me that the habitat builder is so hard to find, I really need it
The places he points out have a 2nd motive, to make you explore nearby. Do this. Drop beacons
wdym
Another important thing in that spot too
can i just send u a photo of what stage im at
just explore the region the artifacts are in
i have and he just gives me more
and some places i go to but i cant find the artifact/entrance to it
I'm not certain on biome names, is that the one with all the coral bridges?
yes. Your pod is in the north bit of it
how do ik if ive been to an artifact or not
that is an issue. I change color (and turn off) to the beacons when I visit
Ahh alright, thanks
if it has a yellow plus next to it does it mean i havent visited it
guys question is subnautica 3 cancelled?
\
If you hear a distress call, make a note to find the source
I just wanted to make a computer chip, table coral was never this hard to find in sub 1
