The map on Delta is useful if you're looking for Alterra bases for instance. You'll find blueprints in them.

You'll also find things related to Sam, your sister.

Those two are optional to complete the game. The only part that really matters to finish it, is related to what you should have in the head.

I Have a question that I couldn't figure out by googling what happens after you die in game or what happens if u finish the end game and get the screen with all the names

You can't save in the last area. So you'll just be back in the save you did previously.

When you die in the game, you'll respawn in your last base / Seatruck. You lose the objects you gathered during you last trip but you'll keep one randomly.

Unless you're playing hardcore, where the save is just deleted when you die.
