I got used to the creatures quickly. I build bases so they have the best view of leviathans, and just ignore everything else.

I think the scariest leviathan is probably the Void Chelicerate, or specifically the Chelicerate over the Caldera

#1 spot for a leviathan-viewing base, is the south end of the ice sheet, just east of the shallows. It runs from land almost all the way to delta island, and directly below its south tip is a chelicerate.

There's a cove a short distance north you can build in and get onto the top of the sheet from the water, and from there, you have a HUGE flat spot to build on.

#2 chelicerate viewing spot, the north edge of the canyon, south of delta. Again, a chelicerate just within view. Also fairly centralized on the map, and great for mineral resources overall.

Of course, by elimination, that would mean #3 is the one hovering over the volcanic caldera, as that is the last chelicerate in the main map. Excluding the second in the canyon.

There's a spot near the southern end of glacial basin where you can get on top of the surroundings, heading north from there results in another huge flat spot -- but you better take everything you'll need with you, there are absolutely NO resources there

See, the trick with spots like that one, is to build back from them. Get to the top of a ledge, then build a tube with vertical connectors leading back down, so you don't have to take the long way.

I've not tried building anything there, as there's really nothing to see anyway, just flat plains of ice

My next run, I want to build scanner bases in such a way as to cover the whole playable area.

2km square map, as I recall, and the scanners have a 0.5km radius, with full upgrades.

Also, build a much nicer base right next to Marge's, that she can move into once you leave. Let her have her retirement in better conditions.

I like the scanner room around mid-game, but once I have gathered all the bits for upgrades, I might replace the scanners with observatories

With my tendency toward building near leviathans, I also set the scanner for them, so I can keep an eye on where they are.

Well the limit in Subnautica is 10 fish per round multipurpose room containment unit (not stacked) after that they may start dying/not breeding. But the answer is more complicated with the larger containment rooms and larger creatures in BZ

It isn't an issue now as you have a bigger one. :þ

In a laptop you might have a graphic chipset and a graphic card.

The graphic card is usually more powerful than your chipset, so you want the game to use it instead.

Hi all, reposting here from the below-zero-xbox channel because not much traction there -- not sure if this is the best place to write this, but I'm having a problem with an Update on the PC. I have a GamePass subscription, and I see the Update button on Subnautica Below Zero. When I click Update it does appear to start the download, but the download is stuck at "Download 0%" with "0 B of 8.1 GB" remaining at "0 MB/S" download speed. This has been going on the last few days. I'm not sure if the Subnautica developers can/should fix this or if this is a Microsoft thing to fix. I have been unable to get in touch with Xbox support in order to report this. Any ideas?
